The cabin is located on State Route 3 in Mid-Coast Maine. The driveway provides easy on-and-off access for travelers and provides easy wheel chair access. The cabin is not in the woods and yet... the cabin offers our guests an affordable, clean, convenient, and accessible, "base camp" for Maine's Mid-Coast nature adventures. Fishing, boating, hiking, hunting, 4 wheeling, all within walking or 5 miles from the cabin front door! Too many boat ramps nearby to list! A large flat field on one side of the property is perfect for play and includes a fire pit and grill of course in the summer! Walk to great fishing stream in the back field. The ocean is just a short 15 minutes away in Belfast, Maine. The cabin is a cozy 1 bedroom, single-family, stand-alone home, perfect for couples, seniors, or small family. The cabin has a full kitchen, bath, living room, and separate bedroom. The living room includes a queen-size pull-out sleeper and recliner, TV/internet. Updates include a new dishwasher, new living room furniture, and new bathroom vanity, and hand pul down windppw shades in December 2023. We insist on no smoking in the cabin and no pets. This 16' x 24' cabin sits on eleven acres of ocean frontage at 105 feet above sea level (one of the highest points on Islesboro), providing beautiful westerly views of Penobscot Bay, Northport and Belfast, including some of the most colorful sunsets witnessed by the human eye. The cabin contains a kitchenette, with a four-burner electric stove and oven, as well as an under counter refrigerator. There is a 3/4 bath which services two adults easily as well as a queen sized futon to sleep two inside the cabin. Another couple could set up a tent and camp if a group of four were interested in traveling/vacationing together. While there is no landline phone, there is good cell service for the more popular carriers as well as 1 GB of internet service with wifi.But, you don't come here for the social perks. This cabin was built with year-round use in mind, and is equipped with a modern kitchen with red painted cabinets, soapstone counters, soapstone farmhouse sink, stainless steel appliances, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, and a full-sized washer and dryer. Surf-and-turf feasts are easy to prepare with the propane lobster cooker and Weber gas grill. The cabin has two full bathrooms (one with shower/tub, one with stall shower), a front-loading washer/dryer, high-speed WiFi access, three smart TVs ready to stream your favorite shows, a landline telephone, radiant floor heat, a working glass-front wood stove, and powerful ceiling fans in each bedroom. Dine indoors with dimmed chandelier or outdoors on two picnic tables.
