We have trails throughout the property to explore and they start right out the front door. There are two nearby creeks that offer seasonal (rainfall dependent) blue hole swimming. Sulphur Branch, down the hill from Tiny Tanasi, is easy to access. And Suck Creek, a local favorite, is just on the other side of Suck Creek road from the property. Each cabin was either built by us from local materials or remodeled by us to be a unique space for you to experience.Born and raised here in Chattanooga, this land is the place we choose to raise our children - surrounded by nature and the incredible beauty of the Tennessee River Gorge. For the past three years, we have hosted a forest school on our property to give children the opportunity to learn while immersed in nature. The school is relocating across the street, but you can still find our outdoor classrooms when you walk through the woods. We have several fire pits for you to enjoy for fireside chats and marshmallow roasting. We also have a charcoal grill for your use.Guest Access:Our tiny house is entirely yours to enjoy. It is located on 30+ acres of private property where we have three other unique short term rentals. All the water for Tiny Tanasi is filtered from a pristine spring and tastes wonderful (like nothing at all really), so there's no need to bring bottled water. We have a whole house filter in place as well as a Brita water pitcher in the fridge.In the event that Chattanooga experiences multiple days of below freezing temperatures, it is likely the water source for Tiny Tanasi will freeze. We will do everything in our power to provide a comfortable experience, but please understand that we have no control over mother nature. This tiny house may not be the best spot for exploring toddlers as there is a ladder to access the open loft spaces. Given our location and all the choices for activities nearby, your biggest problem will be deciding how to fit it all in. You could stay here at the nature retreat and explore the land, relax by the creek, or sit on the deck. Or you could head to all the trails in Prentice Cooper and/ or to downtown Chattanooga in under 10 minutes. We have a fully equipped kitchen with everything you'll need including pots & pans, dishes, cutlery, coffee, tea, spices, an electric range & oven, microwave, French press & drip coffee maker. Our living room, with a unique round window that's perfect for bird watching, has a couch that transforms to accommodate a twin sleeping space.
