River View Chalet is on almost an acre of wooded property with private access to the Sandy River. Beautiful views of the river from the deck. This home is centrally located to all of Mt. Hood has to offer like skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, water activities, biking, golf, local shops and food. This home is still private enough to have a relaxing vacation. The vaulted great room has a floor-to-ceiling wall of windows and the best view of the woods with the river peaking through. Relax in the hot tub after an adventurous day of exploring the mountain while listening to the river flowing by!The space -just 55 mins from Portland -Almost an acre on the river with private beach for camping, fishing, and enjoying a fire.-House has neighbors not completely secluded- close to amenities and shopping-15 mins to ski bowl -hot tub while listening to the river flow, bbq, and eat dinner on the deck with a view.-fire pit by the house and down by the river -well appointed kitchen -open floor plan-over sized jetted tub -loft with views of the river -games in garage for when the weather is bad -No pets except service animals. Hood National Forest Land. A perfect getaway for couples looking to spend a romantic weekend in the woods or a home-base for those who are here to enjoy everything Mt. Hood has to offer. Hiking, fishing, skiing are only minutes away!The Space:*** In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we want to assure our guests of our extremely thorough cleaning regiment. All frequently touched surfaces (counters, doorknobs, switches, handles, toilets, remotes, etc) are cleaned with an EPA registered disinfectant and all linens/towels are washed in hot water.***Carefully curated and thoughtfully designed, this little cabin is decorated with art and furniture from local artisans. The cabin has an open floor plan with an extra cozy sleeping loft equipped with a queen sized bed, comfy reading chair and a TV for watching movies. The living room has a comfortable plush sofa and perfect views while lounging by the wood-burning stove. The kitchenette offers you everything you need to dine-in — an electric oven/range, toaster, and coffee maker. The outside space features a large outdoor fire pit with beautiful views of the forest and ZigZag mountain.For groups with three guests -- additional linens, pillows and blankets will be provided upon request for the sofa (not a pull-out, but comfy to sleep on -- great option for those traveling with children). Also, in the summer months, there is plenty of room to pitch a tent outdoors.***Please note -- The drive up from the road to the cabin is steep. You WILL need an AWD or 4WD to get to the top in a vehicle (we have a VW Tiguan and make it up fine). If you have a 2WD car, there will be a cargo sled to haul your belongings up the hill. It's approximately 200 ft. from the road.**We will provide wood for one night. Additional wood can be purchased at the Thriftway or Mt. Hood Grocery, both are one mile down the road.*There is a steep loft ladder that leads to the bedroom. Our living room is the perfect relaxation and entertainment hub, featuring a 60-inch smart TV and a vintage turntable and receiver (with Bluetooth capability) with a stash of great records (bring your own if you want!). Upstairs, you’ll find the main bedroom with a queen bed, reading nook, balcony access and a desk for the work-from-home crowd. There is also a quaint bathroom and a bunkroom that features a single and full bed. Downstairs, there is plenty of space to hang your outdoor recreation gear to dry in the hallway, and you’ll find the third bedroom with a queen bed and nearby bathroom with shower. Our home offers ample free parking and a convenient horseshoe driveway for easy access, in and out.Other things to noteCentrally located in the Mount Hood Corridor, we are in close proximity to a wide variety of area outdoor attractions, and our home is a great place to relax after a day of activities and exploring.
