Hotel Golf Chateau de Chailly

We only stayed at Chateau de Chailly for one night, but wished it could have been longer. The chateau has been extensively renovated into a luxury hotel with a pool, spa, tennis court and golf course. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, with complimentary tea, coffee and bottles of water. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with plenty of choices for all tastes.

The Château, the rooms and suites, the gardens, the pool - all very impressive and well kept. Friendly professional staff helps you with any questions you may have, e.g. list of excursions, restaurants, surroundings. We wre upgraded to one of the two tower suites, which are very large and beautifully furnished. The bigger restaurant is only open Thu to Sun, therefore we were not able to use it. The smaller one (also for breakfast) can be very crowded inside. We were lucky to have our breakfast outside with view on the golf course. Wellness area small but pleasant. The large outside pool is heated and nice to relax. We can wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel.

Hotel and staff were lovely. Beautiful views, nicely appointed rooms and genuinely helpful and friendly staff BUT, all of the amenities described on their website when I booked the hotel in July were not available during our visit. Website said there were two restaurants, a fine dining experience and a more relaxed one. Upon check in, we were told dinner was only available in the fine dining restaurant and only breakfast would be served in the other. The website purported to have an onsite sommelier who provided wine tastings each day except Sunday (mind you, this property is in the heart of Burgundy, France). Unfortunately, our stay, included a Saturday night and when we tried to sign up for the tasting, were told the sommelier was off. Finally, since it was not really a day to soak up rays by the pool, we asked about the bikes, which were also advertised on the website, unfortunately for us, we had 6 adults and the hotel only had 4 bikes. Finally, in the evenings, the bar was not staffed and each time we wanted to order a drink, we had to ask the staff at reception to call someone in to take our order - either you’re open or you’re not. The area and property are unique and beautiful but unless you’re only going to play golf, I would skip this location as it is remote and not quite ready for a full French countryside experience.

We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful chateau. The staff is excellent, the dinner was superb, and our room (in the turret of the tower) was like something from a fairy tale. We regret that we only had one night to spend there. We hope to return soon. Highly recommended!

My wife and I spent one night on a cold December day. Misty and sunny morning. Quite an enchanting site. Enjoyed dinner. The “lievre” dish (hare) was amazing but the sea trout was disappointing. Good service once inside the hotel but no concierge or bell captain to help with luggage from the car.

Very nice hotel with a castle feeling and the possibility to use the golf course next to the castle.The generous breakfast in a beautifully designed dining area and very friendly and attentive staff is a pleasure. Our room was cosy and quiet. The restaurant of the castle should be used and enjoyed at least once!

lovely hotel and golf course. the staff is very friendly. the menu at the restaurant is limited and repetitive it would be nice to have snacks available at the bar or golf cafe. well situated between Dijon and Beaune and to visit Burgundy region.

The chateau makes a massive 1st impression on arrival & the service, comfort & dining all lived up to these expectations. The 4 EV charging points were particulalry useful although nothing we had read made us aware of them, so more website information would be another positive inducement. We shall certainly return on our journey south next year & time permitting will try the golf course.

From arrival to departure our experience was enjoyable and even without using the spa made us feel really relaxed. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was excellent. We will return again for sure
