The film night about Dartmoor was rubbish and a complete waste of time/money.Mr Warpole waffled for over a hour before his 3 minute film,The talk from Tich was not to bad.No mention of guest Miss Peggy Harris at show that deserved a mention.Did not stay for final phase of the evening and would not attend again.

The building is lovely, and the Wild Rose room very nice, BUT ... the mattress on the bed was so worn out on one side, it was impossible to get a reasonable night's sleep. The free street parking was OK. The breakfast was good. We would go back, but ask for a different room.

We had such a lovely time! The staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The bed was very very comfortable - we were in Honeysuckle. The food was absolutely amazing. The place was quirky and funny, comfortable and homely. It was very clean. The decor in the dining room was a bit odd but we found it funny (father christmas being a highlight!) and the time taken to decorate the table for my birthday was a lovely touch. The garden area could do with some TLC - we went to a pub down the road to sit outside and enjoy their garden. The view from the Honeysuckle window could maybe do with some thought as well. But overall a really lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

Had Sunday lunch here. The setting has a lot of character, food excellent and service great. Very reasonably priced. Lovely town to look at for a stroll after and a trip to fernworthy reservoir is very recommended being only a few miles away if you want some exercise

Mary & Graham run and exceptional establishment. The hotel decor is truly beautiful and the food and ambience are superb. Located in the charming village of Chagford, with its excellent variety of shops and a hardware store that has regular customers travelling from Bristol to shop, it also has a friendly atmosphere. Surrounded by the beautiful Devon countryside, once you have stayed at the Globe the whole experience will have you coming vack time and time again, if our enjoyment is anything to go by.

Outstanding food terrific service. Highlight of our stay in Chagford every year! Dietary requirements taken very seriously the food looks like a work of "art" and tastes like it too!! ...definitely the best meal I've ever had!!

After an energetic couple of days (ashbury manor) we decided to have one extra night chilling out The globe was delightful very welcoming and very quaint and cosy The steak and ale pie was absolutely the best served with a selection of vegetables cooked to perfection. We only managed to share a sticky toffee pudding but this was also delicious It was just a shame we could only stop 1 night but I’m sure we’ll be back - the village is charming although we didn’t get chance to wander round Anybody with mobility issues might find the stairs a bit challenging ( I’m not sure if any ground floor rooms) There are just some things in a beautiful old building that you have to accept
