Very nice hotel, very spacious rooms, and you are right by a little park behind the hotel, as well as very close by to Cesis Castle. We were considering whether to stay in Sigulda or Cesis, and we were so glad to have stayed in Cesis - much smaller, prettier and walkable town. Slightly disappointed not to have a kettle and tea in the room, but as the hotel has a restaurant, it wasn't such an issue. Breakfast spread wasn't the best, and didn't look very appetising for the most part, but all the basics were still covered. For a budget hotel, this was a very pleasant 2-night stay.

The receptionist can not call to your mobile - their phones don’t allow that. There is a parking lot but one is not allowed to park there!

Great hotel in the centre of the town within easy walking distance of everywhere you might want to visit. The rooms are great and the cafe (downstairs) is also a bonus if you don't want to go too far for a meal!

One night stay as solo traveller. Nice hotel which is well positioned in the town near all amenities. Nice room and clear and tidy. Staff helpful and polite. There is not tea or coffee making facilities in the room but they will leans you a kettle.

I stayed in Cecis as part of a group tour. Ground floor room with a view to the carpark and main street but Cecis is not a rowdy place so not an issue! The window opened which was lovely as it was unseasonably warm. Bed comfortable enough and bathroom clean and functional. No tea or coffee facilities which for a Brit who loves tea at all hours was a bit depressing. There was however a restaurant attached to the hotel to get food/drink and in addition two supermarkets very close by (one literally across the street) or cafes in about a 3 minute walk. I imagine if you can get a park view room it would be delightful. Such a wonderful place, the lady on reception was helpful and gave me a map so I can explore without getting lost. Really charming town to walk around. The lower park is absolutely beautiful with views of the castle. The town's architecture is lovely and we ate that evening at the Mango lounge which was a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Cecis as the sun went down. Breakfast like the hotel was functional, tasty, fresh pastries warm from the oven were the most appreciated. All in all a decent hotel.

We had no clue what hotel to choose from in Cesis. We had one day planned there to see the town and the lovely castle. Our choice was steered more by what was available and the Cesis, while it showed no availability online, turned out to be available when I contacted them directly. We checked in and there was a bit of confusion but they eventually found our booking and all was grand. The room was comfortable and located on the 2nd floor. There are no elevators so bear that in mind. The odd part of the room was when you entered the bath was to the right but you had to step down two steps to actual bedroom. No problem for us and that did not affect our rating. We had a nice stay. The best part is there is a good restaurant off the main entrance and a wonderful outdoor dining area overlooking a spectacular part with fountains. We enjoyed so much just relaxing there with a beer overlooking the park. The breakfast served just off the lobby in the hotel does need attention. We had enough food but details need to be addressed in quality and presentation.

I was looking for a place to stay on our visit to Sigulda and the area and on our way to Estonia and this hotel was a good choice. The hotel lobby and restaurant area is very nice, albeit a little old fashion…but that was part of the charm. Front desk was very attentive, friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking in front of the hotel on the street. And the price was very reasonable. There is NO ELEVATOR (its an old hotel), but as I was struggling to take our heavy bags up the stairs, one of the hotel staff came up and asked to help. And when I went to tip him, he refused to take it…but I insisted. The room was clean and nice, albeit a bit tight. But we were there for only one night. Bed was comfortable. Had a desk to work on and reasonable plug availability. Wifi worked well enough but not perfect as it did come and go at times. Buffet in the main dining room could have been a bit better…but I gathered there were not a lot of guests at the hotel as part of the buffet was not filled (one of the warmers was empty and not being used). Still had sausage, great potato pancakes, what looked like a frittata (but it had been in the warmer too long as it was pretty dried out) some cold meats ,cheeses , hard oiled eggs, but only a few pastries. The restaurant was not open the night we were there, but they have a cafeteria and pizza parlor downstairs that was pretty busy...but it did not appeal to us. Short walk to main part of town …but we did have trouble that night finding a place open …at 8pm! Website photos are a fair representation of the hotel and rooms. While I felt it was an ok stay, keep in mind it is only a 3 star hotel and probably the best in town. Overall, for a one night stay in a small town, this was fine for us and I would recommend it to others.

It was our second stay at Cesis hotel and we quite liked it again. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable for sleep. Breakfast is also good for a small hotel. The location is great and the park is just gorgeous! I would be happy to come again.
