Fantastic place for Breakfast or lunch Do you live in Pretoria and long for the Cape ? No longer ! We have discovered Klein Kaap and have had lunches and breakfast there on a few occasions in the last 6 months . Lunch under the trees is like sitting under the oak trees in the Cape with the Cape Dutch architecture. Its a relaxed farmyard atmosphere with chickens walking around and swans. Service is a bit slow - but walking around, we realised the kitchen is at the far side of the property, but all meals were brought to the table at the same time, and all were hot . Eating inside gives you a true Cape experience with authentic Cape furniture and wooden beamed ceiling The Caprese style tartlet as a starter was absolutely fantastic !!! We had the battered hake for mains which was a large portion with home made tartar sauce . The beef hamburger was rated as 8/10 by my brother in law ( who makes his own and is a bit of a burger aficionado ) Both the fish and burger were served with potato wedges which is basically a potato cut into 4 pieces. These are a bit too ''rustic'' and could do with a bit more love and attention, ie cut smaller . On a previous occasion we had the Cape Malay Curry which was very good and breakfasts are good too! The dark chocolate brownie cheese cake was , in my opinion not a success as the brownie base had the consistency of glue and could be a lot lighter . Pricing is reasonable for such a lovely location bursting with ambiance. Call and check for availability as it may be booked out for a function . The venue offers boutique hotel accommodation , lovely gardens and a few halls for weddings or corporate functions. We will be back and we are telling our friends about this Cape jewel protected by trees in the centre of Centurion !
