Clean. Price that is affordable to me as a retiree. Surprise me to find lift in a 3 storey hotel. Cctv and internet give feel of security and convenience. Staff friendly and helpful. Many restaurants within walking distance of 5 to 10 minutes. Malay food, mamak good, Chinese, western food, Japanese food are there to visitors to choose. Grab car easily available.

My first impression when entered the lobby, it was simple but nice. They have classic lift which new experient to me😀. Room was spacious worth it. Got window. All like new as u can see in picture. No kettle in room but got 2 mineral water. They provide hot/cold filtered water dispenser outside the room. Got fridge in room also hairdryer in bathroom. Bathroom size also big for this kind of hotel. Tv was big and the channel was clear enough compare to other hotel which i use to stay around here. Parking need to pay. Overall is a worth night to stay. Recommended.

Nice hotel to stay. Friendly and helpful staffs. The room amenities are good. Spacious room and bed is comfortable. There’s convenient stores, pharmacies, various fast food restaurants, petrol stations, Chinese restaurant and dimsum shop around the hotel. Also, there’s a lot of parking lots available. About 10 mins drive to Auto City. Worth the penny.

Great location! local market, sunway carnival mall, Billion shopping centre, medical centre, government clinic, f&b, temple of worships all just within walking distance.
ample of parking but without cover. You will be getting wet when walk to take your car during rainy day. Free parking and must be validate your card every time before go out.
The room is clean.
Book & requested for an extra bed(within RM100 per night), pay at hotel when check-in.

The hotel is very clean and the service is also very good. The fan is broken. We checked in very late and we probably didn't have to rush to replace it. In summary, it is very good, comfortable and clean. I will come again next time.

First time lodged in the hotel. Surprised that the room is not small compared to other budget hotel at the similar price. Room was big, clean and staff was friendly. Aircond is of bigger size and works perfectly for me. Excellence budget hotel for business travellers that aim for clean, cheap, friendly and nice location!

It is a 20-minute walk from Bukit Mertajam train station. The apartment suite is very clean. You can join WeChat and get a password to enter. WeChat replies very quickly. It's a 15-minute walk from Bo Kung Temple + market, convenient for eating, and SKF is next door.
Stay one day and stay another day. FOR eat eat eat

TTL7Stayed at Grand Orient for one night for a business trip, and even though the hotel catered more for families with children (they have an in-house water park, though I did not try it out), I was generally satisfied with my stay. Room: Being relatively new certainly helped them in this regard, as the room's fittings were good and intact and the room itself felt fresh despite not having any windows. Bed and linen were comfortable, and the room was equipped with basic amenities. They provided an ironing board and iron which was a handy addition. Toilet was clean and modern. My only complaint - the toilet had a small tube (most probably for draining air-conditioning condensate water) sticking out of the ceiling directly on top the sink, which dripped water once in a while. Definitely something that needs to be improved on. Also, the room was quite small and felt slightly cramped. Location: Not very conducive, as there are hardly any shops within walking distance. The nearest convenience store would be a petrol station, about a 5-minute walk away. You would have to drive out for food and goods. Staff: Professional and welcoming. No complaints. Conclusion: Even though the Grand Orient had an in-house water park and was more family-oriented, the hotel premises was generally clean. It is probably not well suited for certain target groups, so do bear in mind what your priorities are before considering this place. All in all an ok place, though I may have scored it higher if it weren't for the odd water leak issue in the toilet.

JJu MamaLocated in Perai, it takes you around 30mins for going to Penang Island by car/ ferry. Not much to see around the hotel. Luckily, there is the Chai Leng Park food street (5 mins by car) with many delicious local food options.
The hotel got all 4-star hotel amenities. However, it’s quite worn out and the cleanliness really need to be improved.
A reasonable choice of food for the breakfast buffet. Food is fine.
I would choose another hotel if I visit Penang again.

NNorshahida63Check in on saturday,quite late check in and hotel seems not so busy. Room was okay and toilet was clean but there's leftover drinks with plastic inside the mini bar. Supervisor didnt check the room properly. Hope management will take actions and housekeeping supervisor double check the room before let the guest checking in.

MMCLee RichardSupposed to be NON Smoking but the room allocated was full of cigarette smell . Rules are not implemented as we found there are guests smokhang inside the room and at first floor lobby as well.
There isn't double layer curtain blinds except the thick curtain so you can't open the thick curtain as others can see through the window .
There isn't any any shower door except a very fragile/ thin layer of cheap plastic screen that could not prevent the water from spilling towards the bathroom door and flooding the whole floor that has made it very slippery.
Towet rack is installed too high , you may find it difficult to reach.
TV reception is so poor you couldn't tell which channel or program is playing.
Overall ,room is clean but others are disappointing and room rate is expensive.
Will not recommend anyone to stay .

GGuest UserThe hall is clean and welcoming. And with a hawker food centre next to it, everything seems good. However there is no free parking at the front of the hotel but you can park for free at a nearby basement car park (ask receptionist for direction). We were given a corner room, and once I opened the door and on the light, I was shocked to see cockroaches crawling out from underneath the bed and back again! Didn’t have good night sleep for consecutive 2 days. My friends in the other room also felt uncomfortable for the 2 nights. Maybe the room is rather small for 2 pax. The pleasant thing is the Bosses Cafe next to the hotel offers very good coffee and desserts.

SseabEventhough this hotel are old but the rooms still OK to stay. Clean and tv channels are clear. Comes with complimentary parking as well. Walking distance to many convenience store and restaurants or food stalls.
