This is not a 4 star hotel. Narrow steps to the room made it impossible to get our suitcase up. Restaurant and bar were closed. Breakfast was priced at 17€ so you expected real coffee, but no: it came out of a machine, that you operated yourself.

The chalet is beautiful, surrounded by greenery, the rooms are clean and overall is a good hotel. It must be said that the greeting and customer service are very bad . The "lady of the castle" is very rude and unpleased to its guests, the staff is not at all accommodating and is not willing to fulfilled any kind of request (we asked if we could have a plate of vegetables for dinner and we were answered no, you could not have anything outside the menu) the atmosphere seems to be that of a college, strict rules and no one strays. I recommend to the staff to improve the manner and the attention to the customer because with this treatment I do not feel like giving 4 stars to the hotel but 2

The château is nice and also the location, however the service and treatment was really bad. Also the hospitality given by the manager/owner of the hotel was even worse. They refused to clean our room and refused to give us clean towels. No vegetarian options were present in the menu and refused to make a plate of vegetables for our vegetarian sister. Don’t recommend to anybody.

We only stayed a night, but the bed was so comfortable o would have happily stayed in it all day! The room was spotless. The location was beautiful with well kept grounds, wild flowers, mushrooms and lots of birds. We ate dinner there. The menu is limited, but the food was well prepared and delicious. There is a lot of criticism in some reviews about the hotelier. She had very clear parameters -as long as you as a guest can be a bit flexible and considerate, I didn't see any problem. It is a big job keeping a place of that size going. I would visit again and recommend.

On a positive note, the location is excellent to visit the Loire valley and its castles, a short drive from Blois, in the middle of a quiet park. The rooms, while reasonably comfortable, have nothing extraordinary or castle-like. There's a small kettle and a couple of tiny cups, no water, no mini-bar. The bathroom has just the minimum of toiletries: a tiny soap, shower gel and shampoo. No shower cap, cotton buds, body lotion, bathrobe, or slippers. It certainly does not reach the level I'm used to find in a 4-star hotel room. Breakfast is not up to a 4-star hotel. Tables covered in plastic (ugh…), with a croissant per guest on each table (hygienic?). No fresh juices, only one choice of eggs in a “boil-your-own-egg” appliance, ordinary bread. Service was also a disappointment. No information at check-in about common areas or services, other than the breakfast room. The manager and “lady of the castle” appears to have rather variable manners: with a few guests she was chatty and pleasant, with most just indifferent, and with some other peevish and rude, to the point of loudly telling off a guest because of a stain on the buffet tablecloth! The tone and contents of her answers to negative reviews here also reveal that character. Not once were we asked whether we were enjoying our stay or whether there was anything we needed, a common question, especially in a small-scale hotel. Not even at check-out did anyone ask us about our stay, so I don’t intend to “bother” them again.

We stayed in the hotel for one night as part of our cycling trip. The hotel is very nicely kept with great attention to detail however one thing they don't like- is guests. Before arriving we tried to book the restaurant - it was fully booked - totally our fault for not being quick enough. Can you recommend anywhere 'No!' You'll have to eat in Blois (6 miles away) - which we did arriving at the hotel just before 10pm. We found it in darkness, only to be greeted by hotel manager - with a "STOP" as we arrived on bikes. No warm welcome. We were informed that the bar was closed and basically sent to our rooms like naughty children. One of our party requested water after a days cycling of 40 miles, and this was refused - 'closed'! Other members went to the bikes to collect belongings only to be told to get back to rooms. In the morning - at the breakfast buffet a request for an extra croissant was greeted by - only if someone doesn't eat theirs. Absolutely appalling! Wish we'd never stayed! If Manager doesn't want cyclists then she should not accept the booking!

We have been coming here for over ten years as a beginning and end to our annual French holiday. The rooms are always impeccably clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We always enjoy eating here .

France... Louis De Funes, Johnny Halliday, De Gaulle, Lautrec, the home of my first car: Renault 25 Baccara and the scary gray Paris in January back in 2002. We drove from CLR Airport( i chose Bruxelles becouse of the direct flight, but sorry to say that the staff kept us standing for 2 hours on arrival, while the border police was relaxing and probably jocking about Belgian chocolate, they were having a blast; on our way out we sat again for 30 minutes in a staircase with no ventilation surrounded with screeming dehidrating todlers.. I will definetly try to avoid it in the future) to Celletes, 6 hours, artisticly dodging the flipflop-wearing--scooter-riders from hell on the outskirts of Paris... in a Citroen C4 from Avis... all it needed was a sniff of Channel 5. Entering the gates of CdR is stepping in the story: old trees garding the path to the Chateau backlit from the sunset. We were greeted by Nadine. She looked tired, it was the end of a long-warm day of work, but her welkoming smile was genuine. The room was with large wooden windows. Air conditioner put so that it will not intrude the 1800 vibe. Blue roses on white canvas on the walls. The morning surprised me with a smell of fieldflowers... cofee... and something else. Got dressed and ran to meet the breakfast at 8 a.m. sharp, in the wintergarden: And there it was... the most softest croissants, the sortiments of cheese, the smell of cofee getting roasted by a machine... It is in my top 5 breakfast  ever. During the day we visited 3 castles: 1. Chenonceau( Uber-worth it) 2. Cheverny ( Totally wort it) 3. Chambord (... overrated monstrosity) Evenings, we ate at the Rozelle. Fixed menu, but boy what menu. 1. Terrine / melon cold soup. 2. Fillet minion 3. Creme brule Souch a delightful and tasty clichee. The wine... Cheverny rose. We were waited by the funny, english-speaking weitress who made the evening meal even more pleasent( I just could not refuse her sugestion to have another glass of wine). The aftermath: ... de Funes, Aznavour, Chanoceau Cold mellon soupe, Citroen, tasty cheese, warm croisants and the warm welcome of Chateau Rozelle. Vive la France!
