It's a classic 3-star family owned italian hotel with a very friendly staff, there was all necessary for a 3-star hotel. The room is a standard for early 90th I think, not big, but very well kept and very clean. The location is Excellent! Next to Duomo and to the sea side restaurants. The roof terrace is splendid. Italian breakfast, but all fresh and tasty. Dining room is recently refurnished and nice! Advisable!

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE! DO NOT BOOK! I am not one to place bad reviews, but this place was incredibly bad. We entered the hotel and was first offered to pay 10 euros for an upgraded room. We asked for confirmation of what the "upgrade" would intel, and when we entered the room it had none of these things (balcony etc.) When we informed the reception of this, they believed we were incorrect and had to control-check it (!?). They then agreed that they made a misstake and we could move to our original room. Once in our room, we noticed it was VERY DIRTY. I found pee stains and other brown stains on the toilet seat and lid, a VERY rusty showerhead, GROSS toiletbrush, hairstrands on towels, and the most ancient blowdryer I have ever seen and caulk on all pipes and handles. We showed the reception staff and were then offered another room (now the 3rd room were seeing) and this one was more modern, but once again there were hairstrands all over the bathroom, sand on the floor and essentially at this point we were over it. This is not the hotel experience we had paid for, and we essentially wanted to just leave the hotel. We asked to speak to the manager and first showed all the dirt. She said we can not expect "perfect" (I don't but I do expect there to not be pee on the toilet though :) ), and she went on a tantrum on us. She scrubbed the brown stain on the toilet in front of me and said "see, it comes off", well sure, but why is it not removed then? We asked her if we could just get our money back and we would not leave a bad review, but she INSISTED on showing us her suite and offer that to us. After seeing the room (which I will admit was better), we still had spent about 1 hr at this hotel and had a really bad experience so we just wanted to leave. We did not feel comfortable with all the mess-ups and the dirty rooms. It was about 5 PM so we knew it would be though for us to even find anything new but it still felt better than this mess but the manager REFUSED. We booked through Booking which has a clause that you can cancel the booking at anytime and if the hotel accepts you get money back. We filed a request, and after she, firstly did not believe us, and secondly having us wait in the lobby another 30 or so minutes while she was on the phone with them, she lied straight to our faces and said "it is not possible to get money back now". Luckily we got an email from Booking immediately confirming that the hotel had in fact refused our request. Frustrated and angry we left and found a much better place just 100 metres away. My advice is, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL (disclaimer, reception staff was all in all very nice. The manager does not understand customer service however)

We spent a wonderful week in this traditional hotel right in the heart of the old town. Location couldn’t have been better, being so close to everything. A highlight for us was the cocktails on the roof terrace which we enjoyed every evening before dinner. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Would certainly recommend.

This is truly wonderful place to stay. It is a family owned small hotel, with the best terrace in all of Cefalú. The terrace is on the roof, with beautiful wiew over the town and the cathedral. The rooms and the hotel is clean, and the staff are splendid.

This was our second stay in Hotel La Giara and on both occasions found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Good Location with Cefalu Cathedral and the lovely square, many restaurants and the seafront all within a few minutes walk. The rooms are basic but clean, the breakfast adequate always something to choose to set you up for the day, and a roof terrace with great views.
