2-Star Hotels in Cebu

Me and my friend stayed at mad monkey for 5 days which was far too long but we didn’t know when we booked that there wasn’t much to do. When we arrived we didn’t get the most friendly welcome from reception we didn’t get told about any events going on in the hostel or any trips that the hostel were offering We found the room was quite dirty and very loud on the road side. The air con made the loudest noises and half the time it was hot. The room smelt very mouldy and damp. The floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned for months especially looking under the beds. The walls were cracked and the paints hanging of the walls. No one cleaned the room in 5 days but we did get toilet roll delivery’s. We found it quite hard to chill near the pool as there wasn’t any comfy chairs and it was a greenhouse in there and soo hot we couldn’t sit there for long. It’s all enclosed and we was told on a very occasions that they couldn’t turn on the aircon. We was pretty disappointed with the food prices(the food was nice) although the pizza doughs were a bit undercooked they were so expensive to say it’s a hostel with backpackers on a budget staying there. For 2 meals it cost us £15. And we spent £3 getting a can of red bull which would cost less in England. We wanted to join in on the beer pong one night and we was told we wasn’t aloud to play if we didn’t buy a bucket of beer which was a big of a money making scheme really so we didn’t end up playing and we didn’t want to drink that night to save on money. Everyone should be able to play as some people don’t drink alcohol. We enjoyed to music quiz we found that was a good laugh. The music was very good in the bar and the dj was great. We also found out you couldn’t buy bottled water which was disappointing so we went to the shop to get bottles. They only have one water dispenser in the full building which is very inconvenient and should have one on every floor. we thought the monkey punch was great and did get you drunk with the free shots. Our only recommendation is that you do this promotion later as 7-8 is still quite early if you don’t go out till 12. Overall wasn’t the best and wouldn’t recommend for backpackers on a budget.

Good location with wide range of amenities. Hotel and room itself are clean, well-maintained with good internet connection. I came with my spouse and small kids, employees (like Riza and Girlie) were helpful and attentive to our needs. My family felt at home during our stay. Everything was very convenient. Good value for money.

We stayed there for only few hours. One thing that leaves a bad impression for me was the smell when I got in the reception area. I don't know how to describe the smell but it actually made me feel dizzy. Other than that, I have no complaints. Out of the 3 hotels that I've booked here,it's also the only hotel that asked us for a deposit.

Fantastically clean. Soft towels. Great shower. There is paid laundry, coffeeshops, places to eat all nearby. The room gets very bright in the morning and it was noisy due to being so close to other rooms. But an eye mask and earplugs and you'll be fine. The AC unit is quite loud but very effective.

As someone who wants to travel on a budget, dislikes noises, and likes clean amenities, I consider myself lucky to find such deal in shejoje. Their capsules are enough to have a comfortable sleep as for me who's 5'2. But it might be challenging for someone who's tall. Their bathroom and shower are in the same place. I'm amazed that they always maintain the cleanliness of them. Their staff are nice and approachable, too. It was indeed a great stay. Will definitely book again once I return to Cebu.

The cheapest hotel I could find. Stayed for 15 days. The rooms was on 4th floor nice and clean. I say rooms because halfway through our stay our air conditioning unit gave out so we were relocated(for free) to another room. The employees were all kind and willing to help with everything we needed. Location is nice. Almost next to Ayala mall and the general area is safe and easy to navigate/find transport in the form of either jeepney or bus. Decor is a bit gloomy and outdated. That beige on the walls is the only thing I disliked. It is by no means a 5 star hotel but it's a bargain for its price(15 euros a night) anyone would be stupid to pass. I recommend it to everyone who want to visit Cebu on a budget. We didn't taste their kitchen or visit the gym they have.

One of the Best Hotels in Lahug offers quality accommodation that fits your budget -a walking distance to Cebu IT Park for freelancers/IT (if you are senior, has physical limitations, just chillin', on vacation with love ones/family/buddies, a freelancer- this is a safe, clean and quiet place) more than an hour ride to the airport. Lobby area is fair size with two very responsive staff receiving guests at the front desk during the day and awesome graveyard staff at front desk. Rooms are of a spacious (Deluxe Twin Room wherewe stayed with my family) size, separate doors for the bathroom and the restroom. Colors of the room are pretty relaxing (yellow for Yello Hotel). Decent speed for the complimentary Wi-Fi internet access (stayed at the sixth floor). The restaurant is located at the roof deck (they have three sets of working elevators) and offers variety of foods and drinks (they have a mini bar) at the roof deck. Free secured parking is also available. For public transport- taxi or grab ride. Will definitely recommend this place 5/5. When in Cebu, it is worth to give it a try. We are definitely coming back! The place is very accessible especially if you will go to Sto.Niño Church of Cebu City. The personnel is very accommodating and even went back and forth for my concerns. The place is clean and heed to my request of a room with a window view. Everything was superb. Though, I have to suggest that they place an exhaust in the Comfort Room so that the CR would smell nice. But overall, Great! I had the best accommodations while being in Cebu even for a short period of time. Thank you and I’ll definitely come back.. God be with us always!

Price-wise, it is quite a value for money, given the fact that it is close to the Provincial Capitol, Cebu Doctors Hospital and the rest of the businesses around Escario. The rooms are relatively clean, although the mismatched slippers somehow give a weird impression. I moved from a twin room to a double room and found that the room setup for both rooms are based on the twin room setup... the headboard in the double room is on BOTH SIDES of the bed, not above it. Plus, the only outlet in the room is found a foot above the bed. Boiling water would actually mean laying the kettle on the bed. Hot and cold shower in the bathroom, toilet has bidet (I know this is somewhat important to local guests) Staff are friendly, from the guard to the front office staff to the housekeeping. Breakfast is adequate and served in a room that desperately needs acoustic paneling. The laundromat in front of the hotel is run by a wonderful lady.

The room is decent but could be better. Positive side: The airconditioner is cooling well; The shower heats fast; The wifi is fast; TV has ample channels to choose from; Place is considerably peaceful. On the other hand, they could improve on the cleanliness of the place. There are roaches in the room. Linens looked unwashed. But overall, it is a good deal for its price. P.S. One thing I do not understand though is their decision to separate the toilet bowl area from the shower area which are just beside each other anyway. You have to go out after you pee or poo, and enter the shower room next door to take a bath. There is this big partition in the middle occupying a lot of space which could have just been removed so the entire bathroom would be somewhat spacious.
