Just returned from an incredible week at our favourite Cuban Resort "Melia Cayo Coco"! We have visited Cuba 28 times over the years and this resort by far is our favourite with this being our 7th stay. There were no shortages of delicious food options or alcohol. The newly renovated buffet and The International Restaurant were excellent as always. The new Italian restaurant "Casa Nostra" was amazing. The service, decor and food choices were exceptional. My favourite was the lasagna and my wife loved the seafood pizza. What makes this Resort so special; The adult only clientele, we met so many wonderful guests while there, both young and the young at heart like us. The beach is gorgeous and great for long relaxing walks along with its close proximity to the beach bar and beach restaurant which both offer exceptional ocean views. The newly renovated pool, the spacious lobby area combined with excellent service. The comfortable and very clean rooms. The absolute BEST part of this resort is the Melia Team who do everything possible to make your vacation special, memorable and fun! Special thanks to Gippsy for helping us with our arrival and accommodation request; the animation team of Yaneisy "Chocolate Mama", Pedro "Chino" and Lea for their energy, encouragement and smiles at both the beach and pool activities; the service team, Yusmelkys (Beach Restaurant) for taking care of our never ending wine refills, Yanelys (Pool Restaurant) for her smile and special humour and Adonis for his exceptional service with a smile at both the guest welcome back dinner and the Italian Restaurant. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!!

The best vacation ever for us. Staff are awesome and so helpful. The food is the best I've ever had in Cuba. Their Ice coffee is to die for. Highly recommend this hotel. You won't regret it. The bus tour to Pilar Beach was fantastic. It's only 15 minutes to Airport. Nothing to disappoint.

Wonderful resort, staff very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and good variety of fruits, veggies, meats! Dessert!! Highly recommend for first time or seasoned travelers! They also offer daily activities like Aquagym, yoga, volleyball, and other games. Live music is played in the lobby and by the pool for a very relaxing experience!

Our favorite resort. The staff is amazing. Always a smile. There is something going on all the time, from the music by the morning and after noon, to the games on the beach and at the pool. The nightly music and shows are amazing. The staff will go out of they way to help you with anything. The beach is the best. The food was great. We will definitely be back.

I will echo the comments of many others about the staff - excellent and so very willing to help with anything. It says a lot for the company and this Melia that some staff have been there for 15 - 20 - and 25 years! Be kind to them and take small items as gifts that are badly needed on Cuba - easy to figure out what. Value for your vacation money is great here and, given the Cuba venue and all the issues that Cuba has, well worth booking. Food, with only some limitations, is fine. The Italian restaurant is IMO the best for booking a reservation. The beach BBQ runs low on the actual BBQ items so go early for lunch. The grounds are maintained meticulously. Would we return - absolutely and this was our 3rd time here. But let me add a couple of comments. Firstly, given the number of Canadian guests here [a lot] it would be really nice if Melia could get a Canadian channel on the TV. Maybe they've tried and can't but really!! My second comment is to Canadian guests. DON'T TIP WITH COINS. Yes other comments here have noted that they have done so and that the Loonie and Twonie have been accepted but, Cubans can't do anything with these coins. The staff are too polite to tell you this but the coins are not accepted by their banks or other retailers off the resort. The only thing Melia staff can do with your Canadian coins is find another Canadian who will exchange their coins for paper. I was happy to do this and brought extra Canadian $20s and $10 just for this. Came home with a bagful of coins. Take US$1's if you want to leave a small tip.

This was our second visit to Melia Cayo Coco. Everything was wonderful. We stayed for two weeks this time and wished we had booked for 3 weeks! A special thanks to Sachy for providing outstanding service and making us feel so welcome. The restaurants were very good and had a decent variety of food---something for everyone. The beach is amazing and we discovered a new bar with a wonderful patio at the billard bar. Can't wait to return.

We traveled January 19-26 2025 with Air Transat, vacation booked through Tripcentral. Flight was on time, no issues with Transat. Tripcentral provided all information required and more. Check-in went smoothly, we were given only the access cards to our room and a promise that we will receive by mail all information about the resort. This never happened but it didn’t ruin our vacation at all. Our room was ready, second floor in building #82, one of the renovated buildings with shower instead of bathtub. All was good in the room, water temperature and pressure, AC working, fridge with beer and pop, 2l water bottle, lights, hangers, safety deposit box, toiletries, beach towels. The room was kept very clean every day by housekeeping, towels replaced if necessary and the fridge restocked. I didn’t like the dividers between rooms on the balcony, they offer zero privacy. And the TV, not that we wanted to use it but I turned it on one day and I couldn’t find any program working. Beach is beautiful with plenty of palapas that provide shade and there was no problem with finding spots, regardless of the time of day. Ocean was warm and there was no seaweed. The beach was cleaned everyday, we could see tractor marks every morning. We walked in both directions on the beautiful beach. There is bar service on the beach but probably quicker to walk to the beach bar. There are also activities that start around 10:30 in the morning: bocce, volleyball, dancing lessons, funny games. The pool looks nice and clean with plenty of chairs around but we only stayed on the beach. Food was very good and I don’t say “very good for Cuba”, I say “very good”. Lots of options for breakfast, lunch and diner at the buffet, nice presentation, smiley servers, always ready to bring you what needed and engage in conversation. Almost all people working there speak English. The restaurant by the beach is open for daily lunch with good options including a roasted pig one day. There is also the 24 h open by the pool where you can get sandwiches, burgers, fries and much more when the main buffet is closed. We went to the International and the Italian a-la-carte but didn’t go the Cuban because it was a windy evening and we preferred eating at the main buffet. Both a-la-carte had good food. I think the service could be improved at both. Maybe I’m too picky but I would prefer to be led to the table when coming into the restaurant and not being told to sit wherever I want or to be shown a table at the other end. A very small thing that might make you feel better. Also, maybe two wine options at the a-la-carte would be nice. I understand it is not easy with the Cuban current problems. Bars. All good here, maybe not Top Shelf options but they do their best with what they have, including growing mint for mojitos on the property. Entertainment. We love Cuban music; it is one of the reasons we come to Cuba over and over. There is never enough Cuban music. I understand the budget problem that they ha
