Note: we were “level” guests Arrived to no running water and no answers. Later, lukewarm water, no A/C and power outs. It’s Cuba, we get it, but still… Some staff awesome, others rude. It appeared return guests received preferential treatment. Food quantity good, quality not so much. Ingredients swapped without being advised. ie: chicken not pork, sushi without seafood, cheese omelette without cheese, veggie pizza with salami. (Had it 3X, 1st time ok, 2nd great, 3rd awful). Drink often ingredients incorrect. Tripping hazards: tile floors 1” above ground level. I fell hard one day. Scheduled pick up of luggage for return never arrived. We paid approx $600/couple anticipating a great experience. It was mediocre at best.

First day no running water for 7 hours! another evening Power went out for an hour! Last 2 days no hot water! Food 7/10 for Cuba. Japanese and Italian restaurants the best ( bring ketchup and snacks) Pastries were ok Fresh fruit limited, no fresh oranges or orange juice , pineapple and watermelon not ripe , no flavour no pineapple juice Mixed drinks not great tasting Beer and wine best choice for alcoholic drink Employees were friendly and helpful, Jackolynn was the best manager in the Level section Elio was the best bartender(level) Our room in level section , building 51 was great. Large , clean. Great view 10/10 The beach was beautiful, could walk for miles , Just have to walk a bit to get there. 9/10. ( because of the bridge to cross to get there ) Overall 7/10 for Cuba

At the very first two days we wasted most of our day to finally get two rooms that everything more or less function (toilets, A/C, warm water, safe). But once settled we started enjoying the vacation (not to count one day there was no water in the resort - guys you can't do that, at least let people know a few hours before you shut it off). The food was fine, you could always find good food to eat. Barmen were knowledgable. Overall the staff was friendly, the gardeners were kind and helpful. The beach was amazing, hands down, the best. Glad that you have security around the hotel and beach area, makes us feel safe. One big suggestion, PLEASE, have signs in every building and rooms, and let reception tell that to every single guest who arrives, that people should try to be QUIET in the holeways in the buildings, the cleaning ladies TOO. You try to sleep at night, or in the morning around 7:30-8:00 AM and irrespectful people (******) smash the doors, talk loudly and don't let others to sleep. Just because you woke up early it doesn't mean you can yell in the holeways in the buildings. Let others rest. Whether we will be back to this hotel again. We would love to if the major issue is solved, which is provide normal, working condition rooms right at the beginning, do not play cat and mouse with the guests.

Melia Costa Rey Awesome week away. NO NOSEEUMS HERE!! First timers to this resort so we didn’t know what to expect. It’s a long read but I feel it covers everything. Check in was smooth, we had an early flight so our room was not ready. Not a problem. We were prepared for this and hit the bathroom to change and hit the beach. After 4:30pm we head to the lobby, room ready and bellboy ride right away. The room was beautiful. Great view, very clean, nothing broken and very very cold!. Only complaint would be the pillows and no door on the pooper. As in the throne room has no door. When you are married 20 years it still made us laugh and gag sometimes lmao. The Pool; It was nice and big but seemed a little too quiet for us. The pool bar didn’t open on the swim up side some days until late in the afternoon. Near the end of our stay we noticed it was open at 10am. There was some “crazy games” at the other pool in the afternoon. (Pools are beside each other). I do believe this pool is big enough and has the potential to have a rocking party at one end while the people read books and sleep at the other. To all the people with mental problems: STOP FEEDING THE SEAGULLS! Seriously how smart do have to be to think it’s a good idea to feed seagulls at the pool or the beach for that matter. The Beach: Beautiful! It is definitely one of the nicest beaches we have been to. Again the beach was quieter then where we usually go and less music and entertainment but they did do some “crazy games” that included youth and aqua fit. No water shoes required and nice and easy walk into the water. The beach bar tender is good and is an actual champion! You should see this guy throw ice and bottles. Alexander, that guy was my boy! He brought drinks without even asking and always at the right time. Congratulations on your new position fella!. The lad in training, (estudiante) was very good as well. He made a killer rum punch and served us at the beach and was super polite. He also works at the dinner buffet. Great lad. We heard people saying they couldn’t get huts at 8 am blah blah so at 10am I took pictures of all the empty huts. If you want a certain special hut then like any other all inclusive, get up early and save your morning chairs. Only complaints if I had them would be, the beach bar isn’t closer to the beach and I wish there were regular papilla’s instead of the huts. We would save a hut for our stuff and if we wanted some shade or needed shade but spent most time in the sun. Papilla’s you can hang your stuff and still get a bit of shade if need be without feeling like you saved a hut you didn’t use. Snack bar: One of my favourite places. (I love food). Every meal here was great or better than great and peaceful with amazing service. Julio the head chef kept my belly fuller after it was already full lol. Roibel with unbelievable service at the bar and always aims to please. The waiters were also great, they will do the

Great food, excellent customer service! A great visit to a beautiful spot! Wonderful food by Chef George (snak bar), and Chef Yuri ( Japonese).. Despite it being very busy, these chef’s prepared safe and delicious meals for me with dietary restrictions! Both of these chef’s , along with their staff worked hard and made my visit special and memorable! Worthy of mention too was the warm welcome back and great customer service with a smile from Aileen, Vivi, Liana, and Raidany’s! These ladies always make me feel welcome and joyful to visit!
