Garden & City Cauterets Balneo

Good location, close to ski tracks and city center. Small apartment, "mountains view" spoiled by view to backstreets of stores. Spa ok. One part looked like an old public pool. The other part was better and according yo the pictures in web site. Sauna was out of order. Friendly staff.

Excellent 'comfort duplex' rooms, with well equipped kitchen and good small bathroom. Very pleasant and comfortable, well situated in the middle of this nice little town, supermarket and other shops all nearby. Friendly and professional staff, superb breakfast. The only slightly less than excellent things were (1) the milk for the coffee in the coffee machine (sweetened?) and (2) the lack of restrictions for children using the pool (mothers on phones ignored children jumping in etc), which limited our enjoyment of this lovely facility. Good value, and we hope to return.

The images shown on the website do a disservice to the actual experience, as they fail to accurately represent the reality of the place. The staff, while amicable and helpful, breakfast was okay. These were the only redeeming aspect of the experience. Beyond that, it was a letdown. The accommodation (rooms) can be described as dated. The decor felt like it was stuck in a bygone era (1980), not having seen a refresh for many years, perhaps even decades. The furnishings were worn and showed signs of significant wear and tear. I was expecting something more contemporary, or at least well-maintained, given the promise of the pictures online. The amenities were equally disappointing. They were basic and rudimentary, failing to offer any sense of luxury or comfort that one would expect from a the online image. Lack of modern conveniences, from the quality of the bed linens to the state of the bathroom fixtures, made the stay less comfortable than it could have been. Additionally, the bed was uncomfortable, we slept badly. There was no cleaning or towel change during the stay. The swimming pool was under maintenance. To conclude, this accommodation fell far short of expectations, delivering an experience that was far more basic and dated than suggested by the online presentation. The friendly staff did their best to assist, but the overall experience was overshadowed by these shortcomings. Potential guests should bear this in mind and adjust their expectations accordingly.

Fantastic hotel, super friendly staff, great rooms, delicious dinner and an amazing location in the centre of town and close to free parking. No complaints at all - this has to be the best place to stay in Cauterets summer or winter. 10/10. Un grand merci!

Garden &City Cauterets is a hotel conveniently located near shops and all amenities. It has a great pool and a play area that my daughter loves. This is our second time here and we will definitely come back as the whole staff are very friendly and helpful. We truly had a wonderful stay.
