I would like to write a detailed review here: The staff are all wonderful, all very friendly and helpful, especially in the buffet hall. This makes a difference as I've been to other 5-star hotels which - whilst better in some ways - had more-unfriendly staff The hotel itself is very beautiful. It has been very thoughtfully designed and well built with beautiful villas set in what looks like a lush rainforest, just next to the beach. It really is beautiful The rooms are very nice too. The hotel itself is only 3 years old, so everything feels high-quality and works nicely. The rooms are quite compact, but big enough with enough storage. AC works nicely too and there was a nice supply of different pillows (catering to individual tastes) The hotel is very quiet, but if you happen to be staying next door to guests with children etc, you'll hear all their noise as there isn't much sound insulation. Also, there are quite a few steps at the hotel, but all the guests seemed to handle this fine The beach (which is sandy) and sea are simply stunning. The water is so clear you can see right through it. This is quite something to behold. Speaking to a guest we met at the hotel who has been coming to this hotel and to this area for years, she says the beach is gradually getting busier but it wasn't busy whilst we were there: The beach is probably a mile long and there were always less than 300 people on it which is fine... We went in September and the air temperature was 26-31 which was great. The sea is very cold though. I can just about swim in it, but not for long! As for the hotel's evening entertainment, there was a man who sings and plays the piano (with some backing accompaniment). I can assure you that he is BRILLIANT. This entertainment is thoughtfully placed "on one side" of the complex so that if guests want to sleep, they can In my opinion, the hotel is let down by the food which just isn't great. I'll explain: The breakfast is very good, but without the variety of choice that you would normally see in a 5-star hotel. For example, you can have an omlette but only with a choice of about 6 ingredients. There is very little bread selection and almost no vegetables... Dinner is worse. Whilst the fresh food is brilliant, you have to queue for it (sometimes for a while) and when it's cooked, the portion is very small. Frequently, I would queue for food for 5 minutes, then take my small portion back to the table, eat it in 2 minutes, then re-join the queue for more. This meant that I didn't really "have dinner with my wife" as she was queuing whilst I was eating. Moreover, I had beef every night (which was delicious) but there were no potatoes, rice, pasta or fries to accompany it. This is very odd and something I've never seen before. Why doesn't the hotel also offer "simple, ordinary food" like fries, chicken, rice, vegetables etc...!? Also, there were almost no vegetables for dinner (except for lettuce, cold spinach and cress). Lastly, the pud
