Hotel le Fontanelle

Every detail was impeccable from the moment my husband and I arrived during our honeymoon. From the hidden paths lined with cypress trees, olive trees and the smell of rosemary, to the high quality detail of every room and building. We had the pleasure of eating at all three on-site restaurants, and also enjoyed lunches by the pool. All of our meals were phenomenal and the service even more impressive. Although it is not customary, I do wish we had thought to being more cash/euros to tip as the staff works very hard to ensure your every need and desire is met with genuine kindness and speed. Not to mention the views are breathtaking and was everything I imagined Tuscany to look and feel like - and more! We also had the pleasure of taking a tour at their sister property, the Vallepicciola Winery, where we took a Jeep tour through the vineyards, did a barrel tasting, and enjoyed a thorough and educational wine and food tasting afterward. The spa is also fantastic, and I enjoyed the best facial I have ever had. We will absolutely be back to Le Fontanelle, and will be recommending the resort to everyone we know!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The views are stunning and the grounds are gorgeous. But, the best thing about this hotel is the staff! They are friendly, helpful and always willing to help with any request. For example, we went to the pool early one morning before the pool bar was open. We asked one of the staff when the bar opened so we could get a drink and he said it was open whenever we needed it and proceeded to open the bar and serve us drinks. Would give this place 10 stars if I could! From Los Angeles and will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This place is beautiful!!!! Very comfortable rooms, great food and of course great wine. We stayed for 3 days at the end of their season and were still treated as if they were full and boasting with energy.

Superb location and amazing service. Tuscany always a magical place. La Fontanelle's location can't be more perfect to enjoy strolling their own olive garden. The outdoor dinner restaurant was simply amazing. Will defintely come again!!

My husband and I had the best honeymoon at this resort! It was so clean, luxurious, & the food was amazing! The views are breathtaking, location is wonderful, & the staff was so friendly & helpful! They had onsite activities, a winery, gorgeous pool and spa. We loved staying at the club house! We purchased the 4 senses package and were able to get an upgrade on our room as there was availability and we really appreciated that! This hotel was nothing short of magical and we will never forget how special this place was! We can not wait to come back one day! Of all 6 resorts we stayed at between Greece and Italy on our honeymoon this one by far exceeded our expectations and was our favorite stay! Thank you again so much!

Honestly the best part of our Italian honeymoon was here in Tuscany. Everything at Le Fontanelle is above and beyond from the million dollar views, to beautifully kept grounds across the estate including the pool, driving range, and putting green, to the superb food, to delightful wine and drinks. My wife and I did some activities arranged through the concierge including the amazing wine and dine tasting at Vallepicciola, the cooking class at Pietre Vive, and the truffle hunt there as well. They took care of everything and recommend reaching out to the concierge ahead of your arrival to plan the perfect stay. The restaurants there are phenomenal and although we didn't get to eat at the Michelin Starred Il Visibilio the other two we did go to are on par with other Michelin star restaurants we've been to. The service, friendliness, and attentiveness of the staff here is truly 5 stars. I could not recommend this place more so if you thinking about booking here just do it and you won't regret it. Gives White Lotus type vibes and definite 11/10.

This Hotel is fantastic, definitely 5 stars. When your first arrive through the gated entry you are meet by the staff to welcome you , unload your luggage , park your car etc. You just go to the lounge to the very comfortably lounge to check in with a welcome cold drink. Then there is quick tour of the property. The property is just WOW , the property , the views !!. What a feeling when you book something after hours of web searching, review trawling etc and your partner says this "I cant believe how beautiful this is , look at the views, the building , the landscaping , the pool etc etc. Take a look at the book at reception which has before and after photographs of the hotel redevelopment, you wont believe the transformation, what vision by the owners. We booked direct with the Hotel and selected the 5 senses experience. This turned out to be another great choice, firstly we were upgraded to a beautiful room with separate living area in the main building. This package included dinner in La Colonna (more on that later) we wanted to move this to the next day as we were a bit tired after driving which was done without any issues,; massage at the Well-being Centre at the Clubhouse and a tour of the Winery. All staff were very welcoming and approachable during our 4 day stay. We were fortunate to have great weather and sat around the pool / gardens, just beautiful. Our dinner at La Colonna was one of the best we have ever had. It was a beautiful night therefore dinner was served on the external terrace. Our table for two reserved giving us a uninterrupted view of Tuscan landscape under the full moon . The food and service was exceptional. We are foodies and this was up there with best of our fine dining experiences throughout the world. (I had seen reviews criticizing the food , not sure what they are about must be some other agenda). You must do the winery tour at Vallepiccolla , it is really good experience and well organised. We enjoyed our massages up at the Clubhouse. The shuttle service to Sienna , no longer exists . Not a problem for us as we had our own car., 30-45 mins. Just watch you SatNav give you the best route , we got the scenic route on the way back , down kms of dirt roads. The property is remote , so if you don't have your own car you will need to book private cars through the hotel to go offsite. We noticed that nearly all of the other guests were American, I think about 85% of the guests are international visitors. If you are looking for a special place to stay in Tuscany, we would highly recommend Hotel Le Fontanelle

This hotel thinks it’s high-class, but actually they are just incredibly formal while delivering a level of service that falls far below the money they charge. Simple things like getting the steam room turned on (spoke to 3 different staff about that before giving up). The staff all look terrified – they should be encouraged to lighten up and be friendly and relaxed around guests. It is also the most environmentally-unfriendly place I’ve ever stayed; they replace ALL towels (even the ones hanging up) twice each day, even when specifically asked multiple times not to, and the guy who does it also flushes every toilet twice on each visit, for no reason at all – terrible!
