Le Grand Bassin is the most picturesque BnB our group of women has ever seen. This is the epitome of French charm. The rooms are well accommodated as is the common area. The view of the canal and Castelnaudary is beautiful. The outdoor area is landscaped and furnished beautifully. Then there is Sophie, who manages the place with energy and a dedication to her guests. It was sad to say goodbye.

What a wonderful place to stay. Lovely clean rooms with super fresh linen. Sophie was just the best host and offered up information and delightful charcuterie for us to take away. Also very convenient for picking up Le boat which is basically 30 metres away. We could also stash our luggage in the bike room. Altogether a quirky but magnificent experience. Would thoroughly recommend

This is a delightful small hotel, full of character and friendly charm. It is right by the Le Boat base and about 10 minute walk from shops or station, another 5min to the town centre. Sophie will take good care of you in her little hotel with clean and well appointed bedrooms and informal dining. She makes an excellent Cassoulet (local speciality) and has good homemade pate and wines from the family vineyard. If it is very hot, there are fans to keep you cool: air conditioning is not allowed as it is a historic building. Certainly worth asking for a bedroom looking across the bassin, if available. We had friends staying elsewhere locally and they regretted not booking in to Le Grand Bassin: it is quite special.

Accueil très moyen. La personne n'est pas là. On est rentré trempé du vélo et la dame refuse d'activer la chaudière pour un demi degré. Prix donc excessif! Chambre confortables mais équipements défectueux. Petit déjeuner moyen fait tout seul. Globalement: rapport qualité/prix nul

Si vous aimez une réception entièrement téléphonique avec une correspondante psychorigide qui vous indique une adresse piégeuses sans autres commentaires, si vous aimez un service inexistant puisque ce sont les clients qui font le boulot, si vous aimez des chambres à l’équipement approximatif, voire dangereux, alors choisissez cette maison d’hôte qui tarifie la nuitée à plus de 100 euros. Ce n’est pas le jeune Yaniss, pourtant en alternance, faisant preuve de réelles qualités d’accueil des clients qui pourra sauver la situation. Les défauts sont structurels.

Gite idéalement placé en plein centre de Castelnaudary et face au grand bassin. Nous occupions 3 chambres doubles spacieuses et confortables dans une bâtisse d'époque. Accueil sympathique et disponible. Très bien pour garer les vélos en toute sécurité.

Nous recherchions un gîte pour une réunion familiale et le gîte de Sophie s'est imposé comme une évidence ! L'emplacement est parfait avec une superbe vue sur le grand bassin. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien équipées, bonne literie. L'accueil a été parfait, les enfants ont apprécié les boissons et les bonbons laissés à leur attention, et les adultes les pots de confiture maison. Je recommande vivement ! Merci Sophie et son équipe.
