We had booked a balcony room with breakfast at Hotel Dolomiti for 3 nights for €360. However 5 weeks after we had booked it (which was direct through their website) we received an email stating the price was now €480. We thought this unusual & was it a scam? We replied asking them to honour our original booking price. No response. Decided to cancel, don't want to stay somewhere that changes the price after you have a booking confirmation. Found a beautiful B&B instead.

We had a super stay here. Luigi the owner was waiting for us as we pulled up, and took obvious pride in shoring us round. Beautifully restored and furnished in mid-century pieces, the shared spaces and rooms are a delight. Lovely balcony to sit out on too. I feel lucky to have found such a gem in this already special place.

We were staying in a nearby AirBnb and found comfort when we arrived for a drink at the bar after a long day of driving. We were greeted by a charming couple who work in the restaurant. They took care of us like we were old friends. The following night we went back for supper. Chrisie and her husband were working again🥰 Everything was superb! You have to have the bean soup as a starter. The place is so well decorated. I would have loved to be staying there for the night. One small suggestion to the owners, the lighting is very bright in the restaurant and could be put on a dimmer to make the atmosphere even better.

There is something ancient and magical about Castelmezzano, and Hotel Dolomiti manages to marry these rare, unspoiled aspects with the conveniences and comforts one expects in a 21st century hotel. Architecturally, the exterior appears like a quaint European chalet, quite natural in mountain village—but inside, the rooms and the bathrooms are modern, spacious, and immaculate with first-rate air conditioning and wifi. From the balcony we experienced views that are nothing short of breathtaking, while on the ground level we enjoyed the delicious Lucanian cuisine and excellent wine on the outdoor terrace. Beyond all of this, what puts Hotel Dolomiti over the top is the caring and kindness we received from the owner Luigi and his wonderful staff, including Carmen, Asia, and others. We were so happy to return to this wonderful gem, and hopefully we will be able to return many more times in the near future!

The Hotel appears to be the best in town, in a good location at the entrance to the village. The Rooms are simple, modern and of decent size. Do NOT book a standard room, but insist on a room with a view of the town, preferably not on the floor of the reception where we stayed - the reception area is the only public space where guests can congregate. As a result we were greatly disturbed be the noise of people talking and/ or checking in. Our standard room overlooked a solid cement wall 1,5 meters accross a yard filled with debris. Nobody bothered to clean up this space. The shower is extremely slippery and does NOT provide any handle to hold on - a serious accident in the waiting. The restaurant is a huge hall, basically void of any decor with a waiting hall feel to it. We had very efficient and friendly service by a lady from Scotland. Sadly we cannot recommend this restaurant as the choice is EXTREMELY limited. There is no beef, no veal, only local cheese, no salad. Breakfast was also of low standard - fruit on the second day consisted of chooped fruit salad out of a tin in sugary syrop! Bread on the second day was left over from the previous day. We regret very much having visited Castelmezzano - the village is not kept clean, flowers are rare, hardly and shops which anyhow were closed. The choice of restaurants in poor to say the least. No place to have a drink or coffee in the afternoon. Very depressing destination which has long ago past its zenit.

I’ve stayed 2 nights at Hotel Dolomiti Castelmezzano and I loved every detail: the hotel is 50 yo, but fully renovated last year with a modern style you won’t expect in such a small mountain village. Very good breakfast. Wifi at the 3rd floor is very weak, if you need wifi connection make sure you are assigned a room on 1st or 2nd floor. Warning for fist timers in Castelmezzano: the village is restricted to cars, you’ll have to find park outside the city center in a small road. At least you can enjoy special tariff at 3.5€day having reserved a hotel.

Love Luigi, the wonderful team, and a great place to stay. Restaurant was delicious and great wine. Hope to visit again when in the area. Incredibly helpful, committed to our happiness and helped with area activities.

The owner, Luigi, greeted us and conversed as if we were old friends. The food was spectacular, and so were the cocktails. This restored lodge looks like something out of the Swiss Alls, absolutely exquisite. Go to Castelmezzano and stay here
