Wonderful hotel surrounded by nature and tranquility. The room was a little dated but that totally added to the charm of the place and it certainly had all the necessities. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were amazing and always helpful. The pool was heavenly after a hot day out. The breakfast was plentiful and fabulous with both sweet and salty dishes. The restaurant on site served delicious food and the home produced Chianti was a real treat. A great choice for a place to stay while exploring the Chianti region while also close enough to drive to Siena. We will be back!

Great Hotel in fantastic location. Very friendly and nice staff . Rooms with airco overseeing the rolling Chianti area hills and an easy 15 min car ride away from Siena . Big swimming pool and nice walks on the estate. Wine tasting is a nice bonus .

Warning! This is not a 4 star hotel - more like 1 star. Casafrassi is completely run down, and you can tell it’s not being looked after or maintained. We planned to stay for two nights but checked out after 10 min. The room was filthy and the bathroom looked like someone never cleaned it. Mold in the ceiling and on the walls. Spiders on the floor and lizards in the ceiling. Extremely moist in the room - the floor even lifted from the ground. I have spent over 100 nights in different hotels the last 3 years and this is probably one of the worst ever. When we pointed this out to the owner we got the option to change to another room - but paying 50 EUR/night extra. We turned this down and decided to book another hotel instead. The owners are rude and doesn’t know what service or cleaning is.

It was a real disappointment, old furniture, a mini television in the room that must have been 30 years old, super noisy air conditioning, broken shower doors, empty soap dispenser, staff who instead of saying hello turn away... In short, everything is except a 4 star.

Unfortunately it is marked as a 4 star but honestly it is not even a 1, the place is gorgeous above the Sienese hills surrounded by nature and a beautiful panorama, but it ends there. Perhaps they have confused the word antique with old, the rooms are furnished with very old furniture, they are dirty, full of damp stains, curtains and blankets full of dust. The bathroom no comment. It's a real shame because if it were tidied up and looked after given the location it would be wonderful. Poor breakfast with cheap products, after eating the croissants we were also sick. To get there there is a stone road which is very impractical for when you have suitcases. An experience to forget, absolutely to be avoided

I honestly expected something different. I understood that the season was not high, but I paid too much for a room which certainly wasn't exactly the same from the photos on the site. Old and honestly the amount I spent was high even though I took advantage of a discount voucher from an app. Terrible breakfast, two things thrown away, not even bread was there. The place is beautiful, certainly in high season they provide other services. But in my opinion we shouldn't compromise on quality just because it's not the season or you have few people in the hotel. The next day I was in Pienza, I stayed in a relais in the centre, I paid less and I had a top room and breakfast too. Sin. The staff however was friendly.

The place is definitely fascinating; Although it is not a very luxury structure, it retains intact all the elegance and atmosphere of an ancient stately home in the main building and also has rooms distributed in the surrounding buildings, which are more rustic and probably once intended for workers on the estate. The owners are still producers of excellent quality Chianti wine and oil. The garden all around is very beautiful, as is the swimming pool. Of course you have to like the countryside, because it feels like you're out of the world, even if Siena or other smaller towns are not far away at all. There is a peace from times gone by and from there it is nice to go and explore pretty villages and beautiful views of the landscape. I think that the owners should be more proactive in recommending the tourist possibilities of the area. The breakfast is excellent and varied, the staff is friendly; the room was large and comfortable, the restaurant, which I review separately, could do with some improvement. Overall a very pleasant place.

Impeccable, family-friendly and warm welcome, secluded and peaceful location, with swimming pool and good, affordable wines. A1 breakfast with incredible unlimited coffee and views of a magnificent sunrise and a small valley. Room 7/10, very firm bed and the restaurant for dinner is closed so you have to drive 10-15 minutes
