Ho soggiornato 4 notti nella suite Raffaello con la mia famiglia. La struttura è magnifica, in zona super centrale nel centro storico di Castel Gandolfo. La suite è dislocata su 2 piani con un terrazzo favoloso affacciato sul lago Albano, un bagno grande con ben 2 docce, una TV enorme e letti comodi. Ci siamo trovati molto bene salvo alcune cose che non mi fanno dare il voto massimo: una era relativa ad una sorta di rumore costante, giorno e notte, che si sentiva dalla stanza. Non so se era generato dal l’impianto di riscaldamento o cosa, fatto sta che ogni 2-3 minuti partiva un suono che si protrae circa 5 secondi per poi smettere e ripartire in loop. Per me che ho il sonno leggerissimo è stato sempre un problema addormentarmi, per mia moglie e mia figlia no. Seconda cosa, e qui eravamo d’accordo tutti: le colazioni. Un posto così belo, così di classe, a mio avviso non può affidare le colazioni al baretto all’angolo del paese dove alle 9,30 c’è rimasta un terzo della roba perché “e paste aacrema se e sò già magnate l’artri”. Cioè mi sembra un po’ ridicolo dover scegliere tra una pasta vuota, una crostata, e se va bene una torta salata. La roba era anche buona, e non è che si pretendesse di avere un buffet faraonico, però neanche una cosa così striminzita. Peccato perché la colazione è una cosa importante, specie per i bambini. Comunque a parte il posto è magnifico, certo se avete l’auto serve un po’ di fortuna pure coi parcheggi..

I had the pleasure of staying with my family for only one night, but it was enough to understand that if you are looking for a little relaxation and excellent services, this is the right place!! We enjoyed the pool in the garden throughout the afternoon and equipped with comfortable beds and shower to refresh.. The large room is tastefully furnished. Very nice and available staff!! The breakfast is also pleasant in the garden veranda, with choice between sweet and salt. For those who ask if you hear the noise of the aircraft viewed near the airport, I have to say that noise is not so excessive, and when you are in the garden it is also pleasant to see the aircraft closely and, why not, dream a little!!

Tatty, grubby common areas with dirty carpets and peeling wallpaper. The path down to the lake is too overgrown to get down there. Entrance is through a disused bar then some little rooms with mismatched old furniture to a small lobby area. Man behind the desk seemed surprised to see guests and gave us a key with no explanation as to where the room was or any other information. Room was spacious and clean but very old fashioned - we had a view of the lake which we had to pay 20 euros extra for on top of the 120 euro room rate which was way too high for the standard - it was the most expensive overnight stop of our 5 week tour and was the worst. Small flat pillow each and poor sound insulation which meant we were kept awake until 330 am by an elderly resident's radio. The restaurant was the best part of the stay - it is in a glass area overlooking the lake and is modern and contemporary. The food was amazing - really high standard but was spoilt by the total lack of ambience as we were the only ones dining apart from 2 elderly residents who stayed for a short time. Also the service was glacial. We were the first people in the restaurant and it took 75 mins for our first course and another hour for the other two courses. It is a shame that such a talented chef is working somewhere where he cannot be appreciated. This place could be amazing with its proximity to Rome, its food and position.

On the overall a nice hotel, but kind of far from the center, 10 mins away from the Torre Angela metro station. Everything needed was in the room (fridge, conditioner, hair dryer), clean, everything in good condition. Reception desk staff speaking adequate English. A nice little pool was also available for us, my son enjoyed it. Didn't buy breakfast, so I cannot say anything about it. Were mostly in the city, came to hotel only for sleeping. Conditioner working, a balcony to the back yard, not a very nice view though, but it wasn't a problem.

I arrive at night (h. 1:30) back from an international journey, with a change of time band, I just hope I can sleep a little. Then extended to 11 after my prayers) is not well-being; at 2:30 a group of people in other rooms of the corridor, men and women, will come out of the voices that sound between the walls. I'm going back to sleep, and I've been at 3 p.m. and I can sleep at some point. At 8:15 the hell starts, you feel shocks, noises of sticking hands falling on the floor, that is, you understand that it is already passing the cleaning of the rooms. Noise is intolerable, it is a forced wake like a caserma. When I finally washed and dressed, I go out in the corridor, I see one of the workers out of a room that cleaned the door pulling it out ... Here's the main cause of those noisy hits that they felt! No delicacy, no accuracy for those who might still be in bed. In the end, I had not only the unfortunateness of living with a poor and noisy client (and here the fault is not of the hotel, but it is not a little careful to recommend silence in the corridors), But there is also the 8:15 pm awakening that makes it unrecommended to stay for those who need a real rest. For the rest, decent location, friendly reception service, quality/price ratio in line with the Roman standard exoses.

The place is fantastic, silent and suggestive ....a good maintenance outside, beautiful clean rooms and good breakfast .....to this end we would be at 5 very worthy stars, unfortunately there are too many details that bring down the review. First of all, the room was maintained: the walls had many signs of dirt and would be painted, but the worst thing is to see parts scrapped by wet, shrinked and not painted. The bathroom is a little small, but the worst thing is the shower: too small and especially with the box to change and the wall all muffled. In addition, both water and room temperature were too far from the limit (the warm water and cold room at our arrival that has never been heated completely), and also a noise conditioner that we were so forced to turn off at night. I wish this was a constructive criticism, because the place would deserve 5 stars!!! So I would recommend a more effort of maintenance and you will have a fabulous place.Given the location we still relaxed, even without shower :-)
