Such a wonderful place to stay. Friendly, clean, quiet, wonderful views across the river Douro and a great little pool area!! I simply loved this hotel. Exceeded my expectations. It's just across the Street from the railway station, so couldn't be any easier to get to from Porto, Pinhao or wherever (I made the journey from Lisbon by train!). A very warm welcome on arrival. Rooms are quite large and very comfortable. The place is so relaxing and quiet! Breakfast is a good selection of cold meats, breads, fruit, yogurt and tasty cooked-2-order scrambled eggs. The swimming pool overlooks the Douro and the views are spectacular. Hardly any noise - a train every now and again - it's mostly birdsong from dawn to dusk to accompany you as you relax. I only wish I could have stayed longer! Nice walk along the river and an interesting small museum/information centre about the area just across the street.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The staff is VERY helpful - in fact I don't believe I have ever stayed at a hotel with such kind people. They mean it, when they ask if everything is ok. The breakfast was delicious as well, and with a beautiful view to the river and the vineyards on the mountain sides. This is a hotel you just HAVE to visit. Thank you!

Discovering this hotel was one of the unexpected delights of our trip. Set in a tiny town in the Douro valley, the hotel is literally riverfront with spectacular views. It is literally across the street from the train station, so one could take the train from Porto- we were driving. There are restaurants within an easy walk. Our room was spotless, good sized, with a comfy bed and quiet. There is a sparkling clean pool and a sun terrace. The breakfast buffet is generous. The hosts are lovely.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Casa do Tua for three nights. We booked the apartment unit so that we could sit out on the balcony and enjoy several glasses of wine whilst watching the boats go by and taking in the view of the olive trees and the vineyards on the opposite bank. The unit was extremely clean and the facilities in the kitchen were more than adequate if you wanted to cook you own meal. José is an exceptional host. We left behind my wife's eBook reader and adaptor by mistake. José contacted us right away and offered to send it to us after first finding out the shipping cost. We reimbursed him via PayPal and the eReader arrived in Canada two weeks later beautifully wrapped. We couldn't have asked for a better response. Breakfast on the deck in the morning (if you don't want to do your own breakfast) and a swim at the end of the day made for a very relaxing time. We recommend taking the train to Pinhao - an 18 minute ride at a bargain price - and visiting the Quinta do Bomfim winery.

Hotel Fabuloso. Não se impressionem com as duas estrelas Porque a minha experiência em hoteis e viagens só tenho a dizer que no mínimo deveria ser um quatro estrelas. A localização e os serviços incluídos e a simpatia dos donos e dos colaboradores é simplesmente maravilhosa. Recomendo vivamente. Restaurantes mesmo ao lado e em frente tem dois bons restaurantes. Os ovos mexidos feitos na hora e o sumo de laranja natural são uma surpresa no pequeno almoço desde já com uma oferta vasta e de qualidade.

Excelente estadia. Superou em muito as nossas expectativas. Hotel muito limpo, funcionários muito simpáticos e altamente prestáveis, pequeno almoço com bastante escolha servido em louça da Vista Alegre e com toalhas imaculadamente limpas. Água da piscina a 27º C e muito limpa. Fornecimento de toalhas para a piscina foi um bónus bem como 2 garrafas de água de boas vindas no quarto à nossa espera, o que veio mesmo a calhar num dia de Verão de muito calor. De salientar a excelente localização do Hotel na margem do rio com uma excelente vista. Iremos voltar seguramente. É já um hotel de referência para mim e para a minha família.

É um local onde dá prazer usufruir do enquadramento do espírito ferroviário e do rio Douro. Tranquilidade, simpatia, bem estar, vontade de regressar . Conjuga na perfeição o alojamento, a gastronomia no Calça Curta e a esplanada da tasquinha ao lado da Estação da CP e linha desactivada do Tua. Vamos regressar!

Um regresso a este hotel, desta vez com um grupo de amigos. Registamos que neste lapso de tempo, melhoraram as instalações, quer ao nível dos quartos quer nas partes comuns. Os pequenos-almoços continuam divinais, tomara que alguns hotéis de mais estrelas seguissem este bom exemplo a seguir! A simpatia, amabilidade e disponibilidade continuam ímpares.
