Really nice spot with very friendly staff, I love the swimming pools; not too crowded in the middle of the summer, and a great summer rate! Room was very spacious too. One of the pools was a nice, smaller pool down a path, and one was larger, adjacent to the mail area. There is also a lap pool which I did not go. I did not try the restaurant although it looked great. There was a nice little porch in front of the room too. I recommend this place.

Although there was something wrong with the service in the middle, it was not the reason why the hotel was the intermediary, and it was quickly solved. Close to the city center, close to the big supermarket, not bad

Overall decent experience. We chose them because of location and dog friendly. Room clean and bed comfortable. We could get HBO which was nice. Pool and spa were clean and heated well. We had a courtyard room and it was quiet overall. The breakfast buffet was a step above the usual hard boiled egg make your own waffle type mid price hotel offering, and we enjoyed it very much. Gringo Grill was mediocre; I think tourists who don’t know about the amazing Mexican food restaurants Tucson has to offer won’t know the difference. We came in kind of tired and so thought, based on the website claims that you have to make reservations to eat here because it was so in demand, it would be great but weren’t that impressed. Our server seemed confused as to where she could find a bowl of water for our dog, which didn’t feel very dog friendly. She also told us that most people don’t eat on the patio when the view there is really nice. Don’t know what that was all about. She was very young. No pool towels available both days, and we were there in the mid morning — not really at a time when there was anyone there at all. No dog waste bags in the courtyard dispenser the three days and two nights we stayed. Several plugs in room 112 don’t work. We plugged in phone charger and some outlets were too big for our up to date technology. Otherwise we had a nice time and really, these were all first world problems. It was a good room for the price.

This former Red Lion property is currently undergoing an extensive and complete renovation. The rooms on the top two floors are now complete. The ground floor rooms are currently being worked on. My one-bed room was renovated and SMALL (about 225 sq. ft.). Excellent blackout blinds, good TV and a LARGE shower (no tub). Air conditioning was ”governed”, so it could not be set below 71 F, however, the room seemed much cooler than that, even on a 107 F day. The room is not yet perfectly finished with all the little touches, but I'm guessing that will. happen in the next 12 months. SURPRISINGLY, my motel room did NOT have a telephone. When I asked at the front desk, they explained that my room was a rare exception, in that a telephone line has not yet been installed. My particular room was acceptable for a budget-minded couple. The courtyard, however, was lovely with a good-sized pool, hot tub, and five hole putting green. The staff was very nice, but was a little lazy, in my opinion. It was obvious the exterior stairs had NOT been swept in several days. With four people at the front desk, certainly one of them could have grabbed a broom and swept for 45 minutes. My Expedia rate was US$ 70 plus a US$ 4.00 ”Property Fee”. I would consider this property again for a solo trip.
