has to be one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. Room is extra comfortable with enormous beds and really comfortable sofas. Bathroom is really well appointed. My wife likes to have a kettle in the room. She rang in advance and it was waiting our arrival. 3 fantastic swimming pools. 1 adult only and 1 by the beach with very comfy loungers. Breakfast (included in the price) is very substantial and delicious.

It is just the worst place ever🤢🤮 they treat clients super badly. They took their money and don’t book the spa and then it takes HOURS to Get a refund … they should change the staff and put nice persons … one tips : JUST DONT GO THERE !!! I recommend Marbella club or Puente Romano , beautiful places with super nice people working there☺️

Context of review - family of 4 with 2 kids 15 and 10 - on first trip to Spain. This hotel comes with many accolades some of which was deserving and some not. Love to hear from other Americans but my overarching view was this property caters to very wealthy Europeans and Americans are tolerated. We never felt welcomed and neither did my children. No one cared to learn my name or even answer the phone when I called reception addressing me by name. There was no warmth anywhere here which was in dramatic contrast to the properties we enjoyed in Greece last summer. I often felt like they were doing me a favor when I asked for anything. Grounds: beautiful. Really beautiful. Pools may be nicest I have seen and warm water. Beach club was a 5 min drive and same beautiful pool and chairs. Beach itself was awful but that is just the area. Not hotel's fault. Room - we had a 2 bed family suite and it was huge. And great. Furniture a little old style, clunky etc but really a great room with kitchenette and 2 balconies overlooking the adult pool. AC worked pretty well. Food - breakfast is included with room so they make a big deal of it. No luxurious buffet which we prefer because of selection and pacing of meal but it is deliberate and consistent with dining at the property generally. They want it to be an experience and they do a nice job of it so can't complain. We are at each of the 3 restaurants and my overarching observation is the staff doesn't adjust the experience based on the table. We ate at the signature restaurant, Jardin, on first night and it took 40 min to get menus because they wanted us to have cocktails etc etc. Great if we were a couple or older family but not great when we had 2 kids and sat down at 9pm! Meals are all very stuffy, drawn out ordeals - to be clear - this isn't a complaint more of an observation. We love long meals where we aren't rushed but this was next level. Also we felt that push to sell us on expensive choices all the time which gets to be a bit much. The one diamond in the rough was Antonio the Som who really cared about what we were drinking and was the opposite from finding some great options that weren't obscenely priced. He was lovely. Service - you can probably get sense based on my intro but top properties in the world need to have a service level that can be flexible to all sorts of travelers - young couples, young families, elderly etc. Not this property. Their way was the only way. And their articulation of policies was highly inconsistent - I asked about the ages for the "adult pool" during our check in and they said both our kids were fine to use but on day 3 a young staff member aggressively ran up to me when we just arrived saying my daughter now had to be 14. I asked the front of the house staff who told me she had to be 15 so I got 3 different years during my stay. Seemed like policies varied based on the circumstances. Spa booked both my daughters for a massage late in the day and I was told

When we booked the hotel earlier in the year we knew that we’d need a complete break from work. Our wish list included a comfortable room, great restaurants, excellent facilities including a spa and complete rest. This hotel delivered. Set in wonderful grounds next to the most fantastic looking golf course, the staff could not do enough to make your stay an excellent one. Two swimming pools mean that all guests have plenty of space when sunbathing. The layout of the hotel, which it pays to explore, means that guests have plenty of space whatever they are doing. The restaurants were just incredible. Finally, the staff were attentive and the service fabulous.

Finca Cortesin is arguably the best hotel I've ever had the privilege to stay at. From the moment you arrive, you realise this is a special place... If I had to describe it succinctly, I think the term that would do it justice is "understated elegance"... I was told that their repeat booking rate is something like 60-70%... In other words 6-7 out of 10 guests have visited previously, and I also fall in that category... There is a good reason for that! The Executive Suite rooms are basically as big as large apartments in cities like London/NYC and all details have been thought of to make it as comfortable as possible. Onsite restaurants (REI and El Jardin de Lutz) are absolutely first class and you can see why people travel from afar just to dine in these restaurants. Pool 35 is great for lunch and cocktails an loved the Kamado BBQ's offerings. Pair all of this with one of the best golf courses in Spain, tennis/padel facilities and one of the best SPAs in the world, there is plenty to do for everyone. The grounds and gardens are absolutely gorgeous. But if there is one thing that really sets Finca Cortesin apart from the rest, it's the staff. Many of the staff have worked there since the hotel opened and you can just tell that they are working there because they want to work there and they are well looked after by their employer... I think that's what gives Finca Cortesin the edge. It's not cheap, but this is one of those places that if you're trying to budget/bargain prices, it's probably not for you...

This is/was not my first visit eating here. The food itself and the setting is fantastic. The service - diabolical. We had to consistently ASK and ASK and ASK for some kind of service whilst dining. From wine list to requested/ordered wine being served. Our main course arrived (fish- cooked to order) and WE had to stall it trying to get our wine we had ordered. It took 20 minutes for the wine to arrive, twice having to ASK/CHASE restaurant staff!! Our cooked to order amazing fish sitting, waiting.. If we could actually get the attention of anyone! For the wine!! All the while our fish main course getting cold. Having eaten here before and highly recommended to anyone in the area( no longer), the food and setting is amazing, the restaurant SERVICE - shocking. I was embarrassed to bring a guest here. Shocking.

Beautiful classy 5 star hotel. The rooms, gardens, pools and staff are all magnificent. Nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are extremely large for only 60 rooms so it never feels busy. Expensive but worth every penny. We will be back!

Fantastic experience. We played golf here and it was one of the most enjoyable rounds we have experienced. The hotel is first rate. The only small criticism we have is that we booked the Italian restaurant but when we arrived they had no reservation. Also our room although beautifully appointed looked onto a hedge surround. We ate in the main restaurant which was outstanding. We would love to return.

We spent 6 weeks here and have eaten multiple times in all of the restaurants in the hotel. Excellent service usually but there is a need for investment in a number of areas. The suites/rooms we stayed in are generally large and comfortable but some of the furniture needs to be replaced or upgraded and the furniture on the outside terrace was poor and not particularly comfortable. Large bathroom with very good pressure in the shower and plenty of space for clothing and other items. Comfortable large beds. Good range of food at breakfast served in El Jardin and in the evening eating outside in the garden there is a great experience. Inside the restaurant is less attractive and the overall size needs to be increased particularly when it is impossible to eat on the outside terrace. Food is generally very good with multiple daily specials. One other restaurant Don Giovanni ( Italian ) is a nice setting when one can eat outside but the menu and food is somewhat disappointing.!! The principal problem is that the chef there is Spanish and I strongly recommend that an Italian chef replaces the existing chef and that more typical Italian specials are regularly available on the menu which is not the case generally. The other main restaurant is REI which offers Asian Fusion and Japanese cuisine which is usually very good but a little on the expensive side. Otherwise the hotel has a large indoor pool with full spa facilities as well as a most attractive outdoor pool with an excellent restaurant for lunch in a pleasant setting and the gardens are very attractive. There is also a very good 18 hole golf course in excellent condition where the Solheim Cup was played in 2023. It is a challenging course more suited to players with a 24 handicap or less. To summarise this hotel has every thing going for it but for it to live up fully to its potential some investment is needed soon principally in the rooms , some of the restaurants and with extra attention and efforts throughout the hotel it could really be 5 star and offer an outstanding stay and facilities. If you are visiting the Costa del Sol then I can strongly recommend that you give this hotel a try.
