Pestana Troia Eco-Resort & Residences

The resort itself was of first rate quality, but our own accommodations left much to be desired! Our place was dirty and the furnishings were old and tired. For the amount of money we paid, it was definitely not worth it. Lee loved the resort’s facilities, but the condominium was extremely lacking and I believe that the resort should take responsibility for all individual accommodations!

Soulless and poor value for money. Villa quality and garden facilities highly dependent on whether property is privately owned and managed or run by the resort. We got the latter and it had poor quality (eg broken and badly repaired and varnish flaking) wooden loungers, had very few plants so mostly what you see from the deck was chicken wire fencing that divides the units, no sun parasol etc. management indifferent and there was no sense of welcome. The one night we ate in the Moana beach restaurant 2 meals were good, and 2 just awful - don’t try the nachos. Plus side beaches beautiful and quiet and it’s a pretty environment. But - for the huge cost you don’t even get beach towels!

We arrived excited, ready to enjoy our stay. Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort reception staff greeted us with an upgrade from a Green Villa + Pool to an Aqua Villa, Villa # 4.23. - YAY! ☺ The resort is wonderful; we dined at the Grão de Bico on several occasions, and the food is divine. There is a little grocer in the restaurant, which is near the main reception. Staff at Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort were accommodating and extremely helpful when there were several issues with our Aqua Villa # 4.23. with a pool. Aqua Villa # 4.23 problems: The Aqua Villa 4.23 floors, from the living room to the kitchen to the bedrooms, were covered in dust; it seemed as though it was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The Aqua Villa 4.23 glass windows/doors covered in handprints looked like kids prints and seemed as though it was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The master suite and middle room beds were extremely uncomfortably firm (floor firm). Not comfortable. The en-suite shower did not have a shower head holder, unable to use as a shower. There were pencil markings for a drill hole, but nothing fixed to the wall for the shower head. Reception sent maintenance, who said no parts available to fix. Could not use during our stay. The en-suite shower head is loose and covered in black mold, a health and safety issue. Could not use during our stay. No oven mitts to take hot food pans from the oven. Reception sent extra kitchen towels. – Thank you. The living room TV screen turned green with no image only sound. Reception promptly came and swapped TV for another; thank you, Carolina Matos. The pool’s filter/pump did not work. Reception sent maintenance, who said no parts available to fix. We could not use the pool during our 5-day stay in October 2024 because debris and bacteria have free reign to remain in the pool, contaminating the water and making it unsafe to swim. The toaster tripped the circuit board, turning electricity off in parts of the Aqua Villa 4.23. Reception promptly came and gave another toaster for use. The Aqua Villa 4.23 was a disastrous stay for a 4-star resort, not what we expected to experience. Would we visit Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort? Yes, we think we definitely would, but hopefully when we do, the villa’s maintenance and cleanliness are kept to an excellent standard. A wonderful place to visit, a beautiful private beach, lovely extras, a short drive to the peninsula with a supermarket, several stores, parking, and restaurants. Free parking at the peninsula; take the catamaran (Atlantic Ferries) to Setubal for a day or an evening out. No cars on the catamaran, only passengers. The ferry (Atlantic Ferries) is a short distance from the main reception at the Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort. Take a trip with your car into Setubal or further afield. Vehicles, motorbikes, bicycles, and walking passengers are allowed. We enjoyed our stay to a point; it’s a shame our Aqua Villa # 4.23 was not kept up to standards. Unsure if Aqua Villa # 4.23 is privately own

We were here 2x in July, first a week and then another long weekend with the kids. It was great in every way! The place is beautiful, the houses wonderful and the location on the quiet and beautiful beach unique. But what made it a 10 is the friendliness and customer focus of everyone working there. We got a nicer and better place for both stays than the one we had reserved. Extra time had been put in to find the best spot for us and they were fantastic. If we called with a question someone was in the house within minutes to help us. We will be back!

I loved it We stayed in an apartment with a pool and a view It was nice and clean The staff is professional and friendly The houses are, surrounded by amazing dunes, great pools, and thé best beach is one of the most amazing in the world I would go again tomorrow

We decided to break break our two weeks trip to Lisbon with a stay in Troia. The pictures from the resort were really appealing and the fact that they were pet friendly was the extra to push us for the decision of our reservations. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and professional. We had booked a private Villa with a pool. The Villa was spacious, very comfortable, clean and with extend facilities such as huge flat screen TV with international channels and kitchen appliances. The bed was super comfy and fluffy white towels. We had 3 bedrooms and we used only one. Was just me and my partner. Because was of season there was only one restaurant open, and the hours were short, nevertheless we did have a late lunch and the staff was very graceful and welcoming. The experience was great, we recharged and the beach experience was beyond this world! Highly recommend. We used the inside pool and the Turkish and dry sauna. We are coming back soon …., thank you Pestana staff!!
