We had a great stay at this hotel for 1 night in the Old Walled City of Cartagena. As long as you know what you are getting yourself into, this is a great place to stay to experience the old city. Inside the walls, you should be prepared to be more or less constantly bombarded by people trying to sell you things. It did not necessarily feel unsafe, but probably best not to walk around too late. The hotel itself was clean and well-kept, and the staff were exceedingly polite, personable, and eager to help in any way requested. We dropped off our luggage one day early to tour and stay in the Rosario Islands, and they stored our luggage and had it waiting for us in our room when we checked in the next day.
Overall stay was great. Some light criticisms: the room was very small, but that's to be expected in the old city, where real estate comes at a premium. The pool is a little ridiculous though: It's about the size of a large dining table and located directly behind the front desk. It's really more of a courtyard decorational pool and not really for bathing. We didn't use it, nor saw anyone else in it, because it would just seem ridiculous to actually "swim" in it. It really should not be advertised as a property with a pool.
