Carlson's Lodge

We have stayed at Carlson's Lodge many times over a number of years and consider it our "home away from home". Carol and Will are perfect hosts and make us feel so welcome. Our room is always spotless and the bed super comfy. There is an amazing view of the Twin Mountains and the Fall colours this year were fantastic. We would not stay anywhere else in the White Mountains. Looking forward to our next visit.

Carol is lovely and accommodating. We were staying there for an event at the Omni and she helped us find the local stores and perfect length hikes. The room is a great size and spotless. The bed was super comfortable. I highly recommend.

We used Carlson’s Lodge as an affordable option for friends & family during our daughter’s wedding weekend. Everyone who stayed commented the rooms/bathrooms were exceptionally clean, loved the beds marked soft/firm and overall quaintness of the lodge. The owners Carol & Will were so accommodating - we reserved the entire hotel & were so easy to work with when booking rooms. If we could have fit the entire wedding party & guests -we would have definitely only used the Carlson! I’d highly recommend Carlson’s Lodge- great location and clean comfortable accommodations!!

The hospitality at this lodge was amazing! While we were still half an hour from arriving the host called us and asked us if we had eaten yet. She recommend the most kid friendly places along our route, so that we could eat before arriving. It was the kindest gesture. When we arrived she sat down with me and told me about all the best food and stops in the area. She then showed me the rooms in detail. She told us to call if we needed anything, but we didn't! We had adjoined queen rooms with a kitchenette, which was perfect for our group of 7 including 3 kids. The mini fridge was able to fit quite a lot that I had packed in a cooler for our trip. We only saw other guests once in the parking lot the whole time we were there, and the parking lot was full when we arrived. It was a lovely quiet stay. The rooms had one firm bed and one plush bed, which was perfect! We slept well! The location was perfect for our itinerary. We took the cog up Mt. Washington, drove the Kancamagus, and hiked the Flume Gorge. I would absolutely stay here again!

Stayed in a deluxe corner room with kitchenette. Would not stay here again, due to 2 issues during our stay: (1) the ceiling tiles were poorly maintained and sagging in the area directly above one of the beds (as pictured); (2) we caught 11 ladybugs in our room during the course of our stay and constantly heard flittering noises in our room The walls were also very thin. On the pros side: High water pressure shower; clean beds; and early check-in.

Thank you Carol and her son for the wonderful hospitality. The rooms were clean and cozy. You feel like you’re home when you stay here. The location is great, close to all main attractions We will definitely be back!
