Melania was absolute amazing! She made us feel very well taken care of and gave us 5 star service every time in the restaurant! The food was very healthy fresh and tasty. The room view was amazing! The rooms were always clean and very big! Luxury like our own bathroom in the USA. Juan from pool bar was serving amazing drinks! Esteban was very professional and friendly! All staff excellent! My kids are so sad it’s the last day of our trip! We are going to return next June! The beach was very private with almost no tourists. Amazing hotel overall!!!

Very hard to review this property. The pool, public areas and gardens are beautiful also very clean. The rooms are very large and ours had a fabulous balcony with great views but the rooms are very sparse with no pictures or colour. There is absolutely nowhere to hang your clothes also no hooks in bathroom for towels or robes. The staff are very nice and try their best but have obviously not been trained so no idea what they are doing. Not what you would expect from the overall experience which could be 5 Star. There are buggies to run you around if the walk is too steep or too far between reception, the pool, your room etc and I liked the fact that there is a what's app number which is responded to if you need any help. Very quiet and a taxi ride to town but our group liked this.

We spent several nights here with our kids. It was a beautiful location - the pool area was great and the views of the beach were spectacular. The facilities were very clean and the rooms were large. The breakfast buffet was nice. There were a few things that should be improved: - there were no bathroom doors. I cannot understand how a place like this can have multiple people staying in a room with no door on the bathroom. We spent a lot of time planning who would go use the washroom and shower at which times - it would have been nice to have more to do for the children. They could really use a games room or some kind of entertainment. The vibe was more peace and quiet than family friendly. I would highly recommend renting a car in Samara for travel back and forth. There are excellent cafes and restaurants in Samara. Would very highly recommend El Colibri steakhouse which is a 2 minute walk away. The restaurant at Nammbu was more expensive and of lower quality (food and service) than the options off the resort.

At the end of a hectic 14 day tour of Costa Rica my friend and I elected to have 5 days R &R at this amazing hotel. It is beautiful the setting and views incredible and the staff are lovely. It was everything we hoped for quiet and with an incredible beach. It is isolated so a car is required if you want to see other places. Samura is 15 minutes by car.

Great hotel in a beautiful location near a beach but far from Samara centre. The access to the beach is rather easy and comfortable. The pool is great, unfortunately ruined by loud music at the pool bar. Breakfast is great, meals are nothing to write home about. Our room was huge, with a wonderful view on the sea, strange the closet in the bathroom and no door from the bathroom to the room.

First things first- any hotel, no matter how many ‘high’ stars or ‘good’ reviews they have, is a red flag if they can’t provide privacy doors on the main bathroom, space to store away luggage like luggage racks or a place to hang clothes; not to mention no bedside lamps. These are basic things that EVERY single hotel room should have and should not be room specific by no means. Our room with a king bed did not have any of these. Also, the room gets bugs like spider, worms and cockroaches. I have stayed in hotels in other areas that had much more foliage and they never had any insect intrusion. Other things- this hotel is not on the beach. However, there are steps that takes one from pool area to the main road, then more on other side to get to beach. Food- we only ate breakfast. It was okay. Wi-fi: Sucks. Customer service: they are prompt in responding but somehow I was not impressed with the quality. First impression ( entrance and lobby)- I haven’t seen tube lights in any hotel’s entrance in many many years but this hotel does. Look up and one can see insects stuck to the bulbs. No kidding. Also, the lobby is hot. There are two AC units but the door is forever open ( don’t know why) and they don’t seem to be functional. Overall review- if for the steep rate they charge, one can find another better place, then go for it.

We checked out on Feb 12, 2024 and confirmed no charges on our credit card. We returned to Canada and they charged us over $270 on our credit card on February 14. 2024. They will not acknowledge the charge or remove it / pay us back. Be careful of this hotel as they can get away with charging your credit card and it’s hard for us to fight it from Canada

The best hotel of our Exodus tour by a country mile. Rooms are HUGE with clean, smart finishing and comfortable beds. Plumbing a bit old and noisy, but this is par for the course in CR. There is nowhere to hang anything: no closet, no hooks - literally not a hanger in the place. Oh and no drawers either. But we coped with that. The pool is beautiful, with a magnificent view, but sadly less than half the sunloungers are usable, because only about a dozen have any shade. They need parasols and more canopies. Service was good but the menus limited - especially for vegetarians. We were actually charged extra for a vegetarian version of a quesadilla, which was just bizarre. And no water at breakfast unless you want to buy a bottle- extraordinary! There are a couple of good restaurants down the road to the left worth trying. And please feed the poor skinny little cat who lives in the gardens round the pool!

Nammbú Bungalows looks like a Condé Nast destination hotel on the outside, but it’s in need of some serious love on the inside. The good: Lovely ocean view from the room, hammock on the private porch, large room with good a/c. Well stocked breakfast bar, friendly wait staff The bad: almost getting run over by golf carts 3 times the first day- the only path to the rooms is exactly the size for a golf cart- when staff comes zooming down, they expect you to jump out of the way onto the grass- they don’t really slow down for you and only one acknowledged us with a thank you. Nowhere to hang clothes, or even towels. You may think this is not a big deal, but the attraction here is the beach and pool - meaning wet suits. It’s very hot and humid- you will have wet clothes and really nowhere to hang them. The shower pan in our room (402) was incorrectly installed so the water does. It ever completely drain from the shower. There is no fan in the bathroom- so it’s always wet. There is a large flat screen TV- but no comfortable place to watch it. You can’t see it from the bed. One person could sit on the couch, but there are no pillows, so if you sit with someone their back will lean on the wall. Wi-Fi is slow. The safe is too small to hold the very expensive camera you don’t want to take to the beach. Front desk staff minimally friendly. Charging for water at the table- I said tap was fine. The server said the water from the kitchen was no good…..um, you mean the water they are using to cook my food??? So we paid $3 for a bottle of water. Not the end of the world, but really! The ugly: dirty room. Sheets were clean and floor swept- but a serious amount of mold in the shower and toilet area. Someone’s hair (not ours) clung to the bottom of the toilet for two days. Dust under furniture and on low touch surfaces, glass in restaurant area not cleaned with regularity. We looked at the same greasy handprints for three days by the table where we ate breakfast. So- should you stay here? It depends on you. If you’re in it for a stellar view and don’t mind some grime and having your room wind up looking like a teenager’s bedroom. With clothes strewn everywhere- go for it
