Thalazur Carnac - Hôtel & Spa

We reserved a superior room with views of the salt marsh and it was of excellent quality. On entering the hotel there is a fantastic aroma and it’s obvious the hotel has undergone some refurbishments fairly recently. The reception staff were helpful and very efficient, we ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night and the quality of our meal was also of a high standard. The Spa is currently being refurbished and should reopen later in 2025. Car parking is easy and pretty plentiful, the location of the hotel is just a short level walk to the beach and a few minutes further to shops and a selection of restaurants. Very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

After 4 nights at “another” local accommodation at which we were very uncomfortable my wife and I decided to move to this Hotel for the last 4 night of our holiday in Carnac. We found the hotel and room in general very comfortable all round, as it trades on the pools and therapy available it was a bit wasted on us as we didn’t use either, but it’s a great location and we will be back.

My wife and I were in Brittany after a business trip and I had wanted to visit the Carnac megaliths for years. We are both fans of spas so this was the perfect hotel for us. We booked a room overlooking the lake behind the hotel and it was just beautiful. We would watch the sunset each night. There is a land bridge that goes over to a small island and it was a wonderful walk with all sorts of birds including swans. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. We used the local Carnac tuktuk to drive us up to the stones and we walked the length of the alignments. The hotel is just 5 minutes from the beach and we found several very good eateries! The spa is very popular, and they were very booked up, but my wife managed to get a booking for a facial. The saltwater pool is something we've never encountered before but we enjoyed it every day, and even took a water aerobics class. The restaurant was very good including the breakfast and several of the staff really made the difference for us. Brieuc who I think is the restaurant manager, was really helpful for me because I'm a vegetarian and in Brittany and France that is not the easiest thing to be. He went out of his way to help us out and was also very kind and friendly speaking very good English. And Roman who worked in the bar made me my very special drink! Laure was our contact at the front desk, and she was indispensable during our stay suggesting things to do, ways to get around etc. When hotel staff are friendly and helpful that is what really makes our trips perfect, and this hotel was perfect. Our stay here was amazing, Carnac is a beautiful little beach town, not unlike where we live. I wish we would've stayed another four or five days because there was so much to do there, and hopefully someday we will return. Merci beaucoup!

For a 4* hotel it was underwhelming. No front desk staff when we arrived at 7:30pm and the reception is a sharp left on entering so can easily miss it. Having said that when the young lady did appear she was very professional and helpful. Room was smaller than expected for a room with balcony and also expensive. Dinner was very disappointing. Some staff were better suited to a small café/restaurant scene. Do not choose the poke bowl unless you like very cold tasteless food. The bowl was freezing. I suspect the pineapple to be tinned and not fresh. Beef plate arrived also lukewarm, neither of us finished our dishes. Waiter offered a dessert to make up for it but we were already too disappointed by then. Breakfast was a much better experience with more professional staff, good choice of food and good coffee. The dinner staff should be trained by the breakfast team. Overall would not recommend as an overnight hotel.

Nice spacious modern hotel with excellent leisure facilities. Particularly spacious wheelchair accommodation. Excellent aircon. Carnac itself is quite a busy resort but the hotel is an oasis of tranquility with a sheltered garden to relax in.
