Econo Lodge Carlsbad Caverns Area

An average motel but clean and reasonable. 30 minimum to caves. Reception was ok, breakfast was basic but included. It’s in the approach in to Carlsbad coming from Tucson, and easy to get to the main ***** by car to restaurants. Worth a night or two.

Our room was clean and basic. There are somethings that have been renovated but they still need to do more. The pluses are: big room, clean, quiet location. The bed was too hard for me but my husband loved it. Some minuses are: The door to the outside seemed a little not safe, we wedged the chair under the handle at night. The room needs more lighting, just two small bedside lamps. Some of the items shown for breakfast weren’t available (pancakes, orange juice). The room was big enough for a table and two chairs, I would suggest that would be a good addition. There was one desk chair. We asked for another but didn’t get one.

One of the few times I made a reservation in advance on this trip. I should have left when I saw the condition of the room. Blackout curtains were partially knocked down and the chairs were disgusting. I had to wipe down the desk and night stand as they were gross. Beds appeared clean, so I stayed. Went to shower in the morning and the nozzle had been partially ripped from the wall spewing water all over the bathroom. No breakfast anymore, but considering the cleanliness level, not sure I would have wanted to eat there. Told the front desk how awful it was and they said they had just bought the place and were replacing all the furniture.

By far the dirtiest place I've stayed in not worth it my car is way more comfortable and clean if I could give this location zero stars I would and the front desk rep was no help there isn't any cleaning staff apparently no air conditioner in the unit cause it's broken this place is trash !!!!! Just sleep in your vehicle

This hotel is terrible. I booked this hotel on **********. Their ad listed such amenities as a hot tub swimming pool and free breakfast they don’t bother to tell guests however that none of these amenities are offered or available because their hotel is under renovation for the next year. You would think that a place would augment their ads if all of these amenities are not available Also have no amenities in the room to prepare food I work in the petrochemical industry and live on a Perdiem these things are very important when you’re away from home working on the road so to make matters worse we were going to go ahead and except the room for the week that we had already booked it and as we discussed it the two men behind the counter canceled our reservation and said we were welcome to go somewhere else with no provocation whatsoever so now I have a hold on my credit card and I got to go find another room tonight the service is absolutely terrible and the hotel is a Lie.

I booked a room here through booking dot com. We arrived and my first clue that this was a bad place was all the handwritten signs hanging all over the lobby stating all their stupid rules. —We don’t serve breakfast! No pets, not even service animals! Pool is closed! We won’t allow local people to stay here! The laundry services are unavailable! No extra bedding available! Elevator is broken!— I could go on and on. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, and one thing I’ve noticed: The people from Central Asia that own so many hotels (“The Patel Hotel Cartel”) DO NOT understand American hospitality. They cut out as many services as possible to skimp and save every penny they can, yet their rates are the same as other hotels near by. After asking for extra bedding, they told us the room where they keep them was locked. Then we went to our room, found roaches and dirty stained blankets. I returned to front desk and asked for a refund. That request was denied. We then went to Motel 6 (which was the same price) and were treated like gold! If I could I’d give this place a big fat ZERO. It’s horrible. Do not stay here!
