The room was ok and the shower worked well. I booked one night but decided to stay another and booked online. The price went up ten pounds, but my room wasn’t made up and reception, that should have been open until 10:30am was closed at 10. So I couldn’t get my room key updated until 3pm so I couldn’t return to my room during the day. I paid extra but got no service to speak of, except confirmation by phone. Disappointed to be honest.

We are currently at this hotel for a much needed break away. We openly admit that we are on a budget and paid £140 for a 2 night stay. It was clearly explained before arriving that the bar and reception were open limited hours, rooms were accessed by stairs to the second floor, and that no food was provided at the property. Also, that there was no parking on site, but was available cheaply nearby. This should not put anyone off booking if they require a central, comfortable, clean stay. With well appointed, spacious and well equipped rooms and bathroom. And the staff? We were greeted by a lovely lady on arrival, whose name I sadly didn't catch but who was working her last day. Her welcome and bar service were exemplary and a credit to her employer. Devon serviced our room with enthusiasm and a smile, and instantly provided extra pots of milk for the complimentary tray (I like milky tea) on my request. Krishna, in the bar, was a delight too. Friendly without being too familiar, she engaged and chatted in a true example of unenforced customer service. I am a long term manager in retail. The Angel provides a refreshingly natural and genuine experience, in a limited but not restricted setting. Thoroughly recommend.

Nice location, near the tourist city centre. An old building renovated, but with old squeaky floor and stairs. Room is nice and modern but hardware not fully done. Hot water was intermittent. But overall bathroom is modern and nice. Lack of lift means one has to lug the luggage up trip floor 3 is you were given a room at L3 floor. Staircase still old with wooden steps. 30 steps to level 3. Come with simple reception open from 3pm - 9pm. Receptionist I met on check in is nice and very helpful. That's why I rate the hotel 2 instead of 1. No heating system in room (maybe switched off in summer?) I was cold cold in bed my first night...

Checking in was very easy, and the lovely receptionist offered to help take my luggage upstairs, since our room was on the second floor. The room was spacious and spotless, with a very comfortable bed, and WiFi was very good. Here’s my first small thing. Why, when you have a room for two, is there only one chair? Plenty of room in here for a second chair. The bathroom was super, with a huge shower, and shampoo and shower gel supplied, which, given what we had paid, I was not expecting. Another little thing. A towel ring for one’s hand towel next to the basin would be great, as would a shelf for one’s toilet bag, shaving kit and whatever. There is a free car park in easy walking distance of the hotel, and the town centre is very close by, but be warned. If, like us, you are here on a Monday, with the exception of the Grosvenor, restaurants are closed in Cardigan. Luckily, the meal we had in the Grosvenor was not too bad, and the staff there were lovely. There were a couple of restaurants that looked as if they would have been well worth a visit, though. Maybe if we visit again, and if we did, we would certainly stay here.

Beware, this is not a 3 star hotel as described on Google, no facilities, no food, no atmosphere, only a bar that opens as and when ..... beer warm! Damp smelling stairway to rooms and whatever happens do not stay when the 'night club' is functioning ...... lots of drunk people, horrendous noise until gone 2am. Dreadful! Not possible to complain to owners as they will not communicate with the public even after one of my family members got injured by a drunk and needed first aid. Unbelievable. The bedrooms were OK. I would not recommend this 'hotel' to anyone.

The hotel is conveniently located to walk to all of Cardigan town centre. Parking is limited immediately around the hotel but we found a free car park about 3-4 minutes walk away on Gloster Row - turn right at the Red Lion and it's by the river. The room was large and had recently been refurbished to a high standard. It had a large super king size bed with a comfortable upholstered headboard to lean back on. There is plenty of storage space with a wardrobe and drawer space there is also multiple double electric points to plug in or charge your phones etc. The TV has limited channels, but we weren't there to watch TV, so not a problem and we took our own tea and coffee out of preference. A small hairdryer is available to use and ther is an iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. The bathroom is also spacious with a walk in shower cubicle and modern toilet and wash basin. There is shampoo, shower gel, handwash and moisturiser in refillable bottles with pump dispensers. Plenty of hot water and towels, which were changed once on a 4 night stay. There is no bar or meals served at the hotel, but there are plenty of independent cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. Reception is only staffed from 3-9pm, and the staff were all friendly and polite. You can access the hotel with your room card at any time via a side entrance, but remember to leave your card in your room or the downstairs box when you leave. The hotel is home to Cardigan's only nightclub on occasional weekends which would make the place very noisy, but we were there Monday - Friday and it was very quiet. Would definitely recommend as a base to visit Cardigan and the surrounding area.

When I arrived from americs with my wife the desk lady was very rude from the beginning. We were charged for two rooms and when we asked for a refund for the room we did not book we were told it was our fault and it was non refundable. And on top of that the room had a horrible smell. I recommend looking right past this place and spending a little extra for a better experience. Save yourself the hastle.

A great location in the middle of town. near all the main eateries and shops but on a quiet street. Immaculately clean rooms nicely decorated, comfortable beds with the essentials such as toiletries and tea making facilities available. The bathroom was great with a spacious shower with good water pressure. We paid £30pp for a twin room which was a total bargain and can't fault the place. Lovely decor in public areas, great welcome from the staff member on arrival. Would definitely stay here again. The only downside is the steep stairs to the 2nd floor, wouldn't be appropriate for less mobile guests.

I went to one of the “gabs nights” in the angel hotel. As it was packed in there you could imagine there wasn’t much room to move on the dance floor, and getting pushed and shoved about happens on a dance floor. This happened to me, and i knocked into the lady that was behind me, Jo i believe her name was…she was an employee (perhaps a manager). She lost her balance (as well as i did), then once she had found her balance again, Jo got in my face saying “do you want to be kicked out”, i explained that i got pushed, and she got in my face again, screaming at me “don’t call me a b**ch or i’ll have you thrown out”, i found this incredibly rude as what i said was no nature of what she accused me of saying. I believe this was very uncalled for and unprofessional. I was left feeling embarrassed infront of my friends for being accused of something i didn’t even do. This then left me feeling upset for the remainder of my night. Despite me apologising for being shoved and accidentally bumping into this lady.
