Convenient location for both the train station and city centre. Walking distance to the castle and other tourist attractions. I got unlucky with pricing since I was unknowingly there during university graduations, so the price I paid definitely wasn't worth it, but their regular pricing seems fair.
There is no pressure in the shower, the water is running very slowly, the toilet is dirty, the toilet seat is broken, the room is hot despite the open window, strong ventilation or some air conditioning indicated, no coffee, tea in the room, you have to go to the reception for it and this is another building, and in the morning after a hard night it is not nice to go anywhere without coffee or tea, at the reception service nice, despite the details, price ok, location also about 12 minutes by car from the center

Their waiters were easy-going, but they smelled a smell before walking to the corridor and entering the room. Fortunately, we lived in G/F because there was no elevator. Fortunately, the hot water in the bath was hot enough.

Or get in on the live action at the Motorpoint Arena or Millennium Stadium. Whatever you're up to out and about, our on-site restaurant and comfy rooms will be right here waiting.
The room was generally clean and tidy although it was very noisy overnight due to its location, the beds were comfortable enough, an extra pillow would have been nice.
Location was great for my trip, but the condition of the bathroom was a bit on the shabby side. The bottom of the bathroom door frame and the actual door were rotting and had been for quite a while
The hotel is located in the city centre, with a supermarket and Chain fast food restaurants nearby, including 24 hours McDonald’s. The hotel design follows an industrial style, the rooms are spacious, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The restroom locate on the sixth floor has a very quiet and elegant atmosphere. The breakfast provided by the restaurant is delicious. The only downside is that the elevator was out of order during my stay.
Free upgrade was a nice gesture.staffs all helpful. The ambiance also nice. Parking area also sufficient. For driving car trip. Gd choice to take. Will come again next time.
Location near the the attractions. Staff are very friendly and nice. The space of the room is big. The bathroom has hand+ hair + shower 3 in 1, but rmb to take cream after that as it’s dry. However, the cleanliness can be improved. There’s hair and dirt on bed and blanket.
The hotel was one of the highlights of our visit to Cardiff. Unparalleled views over the Bay Area from our balcony. An easy stroll down to the docks and everything that goes on there and a cheap Uber to the city centre. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfy. Breakfast was lovely. In fact the only downside was the car parking fee. Really enjoyed this hotel.

GGuest UserEnjoyed the stay. Holiday inn never dissappoints, and I really appreciate their hospitality. Great service, good food , excellent rooms, and great view of the city. Loved the stay , and would recommend anyone travelling to cardiff
EEli_hrtThe staff are very polite and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and enough. Very clean and pleasant rooms. Central location, within walking distance from the centre. In general, this is hilton, but you should remember that it is not a 5-star one. Recommended
GGuest UserClayton was okay as far as hotels go, it was nice having a view of Cardiff from a top floor, staff were friendly too.
The Gym was tiny for the size of the hotel, the bedroom was a standard double room, the reviews said that the Clayton had been newly refurbished, but felt that the room was dated. Due to windows not being able to be open due to H&S, there was no fresh air, just air con. The room was mostly clean, few stains on the carpet, and floor felt dusty.
The hotel location was great, near the train station and in town, but for the cost, I was expecting something much better, as the night before we had a much cheaper hotel, and rooms came with kitchens, and were very modern - wish I had stayed at that one for the extra few nights.
GGuest UserWe stayed here for 3 nights, it was very pleasant and clean. Friendly faces and friendly service. The beds are very comfortable and absolutely huge! The only negative I would mention was the fact that on the first night, we were sat in the bar enjoying a drink and the barmaid came out and started to hoover, which obviously made us uncomfortable and was also quite loud, so we proceeded to take our drinks to our room to finish them. Which also meant we didn’t use the bar facility again for the rest of the stay, which was a shame.
GGuest UserThe spa was amazing just a shame the room wasn’t. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and we were woken up to recycling of glass bottles at 5:45am which I didn’t think would be so loud from the 8th floor but it was!
Found it hard work to check in took longer than expected with not much communication as to why it was taking longer to find us a room even though we had already prepaid. Shame the hotel isn’t up to the same amazing standard as the spa.
EEstherStayed for a night and the location was perfect, only 7min walk from Cardiff Central train station. Very easy to get to. At the first glance, the hotel seems very old compared to the photo but it was quite clean. Check in was easy and the receptionists were very friendly.. I love the 24 hr front desk service. Since it is in the city center, the surrounding is a bit crowded but the entrance is always locked and you have to ring the bell if you want to get inside which I felt safe. As a solo traveller in a new city, that's the main thing i wanted. the room is tiny but have all the things I need. i thought i would hear the voices from other rooms judging by the look of the walls but I didnt . Bed was comfy and slept well.. Would definitely stay there again. Cheers.
GGuest UserThis was a lovely room! Didn't have its own bathroom which I wasn't expecting but I think that's just me not really reading the listing! The person who checked me in was lovely and the room was warm and decorated nicely. Thanks!
LLewisWasn't great mostly due to the fact that you had Taxi drivers outside beeping horns all hours of the night.
People fighting and shouting outside the hotel.
As well as the Fire alarm going off at about 10:40pm.
I had to check out by 04:50 Am to catch a train and I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30am
This hotel is however right next to Cardiff Central Station so perfect for Travelling by train. Which is why I booked here.
After explaining my stay to reception I asked for a bottle of water for my travels and it was given to me complimentary which I really appreciated.
The hotel Staff were polite and welcoming, however and the room was quite clean. TV didn't work however which is a shame.
TThismorningiwokeupinI stayed here for a business trip for one week. The room seemed to be clean but it is so dark that you can’t really tell if it is clean or not. That’s actually an issue - the lightening is bad. I couldn’t really work in the room since it had only a yellow ambient lightening and not a normal main source of light. The bathroom can be slightly cold if you don’t leave the door open so that warm air from the A/C can enter. It is shameful that they don’t have a breakfast included, especially for long stays in the hotel which is not so cheap and out of the center… at least one small sandwich would make things better, but nop 👎🏼. Another thing is that the area is not very nice. Unless you have to do something in that area, i don’t recommend you to stay. I was even told by taxi drivers to not walk around alone after it gets dark. Before I knew that, I did take a walk and it really felt a bit unsafe. The staff was ok, I didn’t have much contact with them. Only had an incident when I arrived - they couldn’t find me in their system (it was booked under other name by mistake but I actually changed it a week before arrival so I don’t know why they didn’t have updated information). There is a small gym, but almost all machines, except one, are for cardio exercises. Almost no restaurants or shops in the area.
GGuest UserWe arrived at Cardiff Central by train, which is 15mins walking to this Premier Inn. It was very welcoming and staff friendly, rooms clean, with as much tea and coffee, which you took from the travellers store at the main entrance. My only gripe is as I have dietary requirements, They couldn't cater for them and had to make do with what was on offer. No gluten free food at night, Only what I would call general burgers, lasagne, steak battered fish and chips. Only veg on offer was peas. In this day and age Hotels need to cater for a variety of people's health conditions. Vegan/vegetarians are not Gluten free or Ibs sufferers or Celiacs. Which are complicated problems. It would be helpful if they offered something which could be adapted. .
