We've travelled in Europe extensively and we appreciate being treated with politeness and a degree of warmth. Travel is stressful enough without dealing with staff attitude. Something in the air changed as we drove from Venice to Cortina and through Val Gardena to Cardano. The default language switched from Italian to German. Unfortunately, the customer service at the Eggentaler is also stereotypically German: brisk and devoid of warmth. The rooms at the Eggentaler are as comfortable as you could expect for the prices they charge: clean, modern and quiet. The staff who received as in the late afternoon were more brusque than brisk. There's an intangible officiousness here that grates, particularly the small, beaded man with bun who checked us in. He insisted that we pay for our stay before nightfall because the breakfast staff couldn't process checkouts the next day, for some reason. So we heated up our credit cards, paying for dinner and our rooms the night we arrived. That request to pay wasn't itself problematic, but his manner was very abrasive. This stood in stark contrast to our experience the next night in Salò, where staff at the Hotel Spiaggia d'Oro greeted us warmly in a delightful, lakeside setting at a cost of around half what the Eggentaler charged. Ironically, it was Eggentaler's "breakfast girls" who weren't allowed to check us out who provided more warmth and advice to us than anyone who was on duty the previous night.

Really enjoyed our stay. Easy check in and rooms were nice. Restaurant was very accommodating and food was excellent. Breakfast provided was more than I expected. Highly recommend

The hotel is located in a very quiet area with several parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. All very well looked after and tastefully furnished. Enchanting a**osphere! The room was spacious, well organised, very clean and very well furnished. In the room there was both a shower and a bathtub (wonderful and super spacious). Well-stocked minibar and there was a kettle available in the room with a good choice of herbal teas. Room soundproofed very well. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant where we were pampered and I must say that all the staff were pleasant and super kind. Excellent quality food and explained in an exemplary way. Small, slightly painful notes (but which do not weigh on the final opinion): - the courtesy kit needs to be improved, adding a small set for oral hygiene would have been optimal - it is a shame that the massage service is not present, it would take everything to a higher level. - adding a topper to the beds would be desirable

Very good hotel, except that the triple room which should have been 32m2 was only 15m2 plus a hallway bathroom of 2.5m2. The third bed advertised does not have a real mattress. I reported it as soon as I arrived, no solution proposed, I was told that I had to wait for the boss. In the evening no one came back to me. I ask you at reception, the only answer "mi dispiace" "what do you want me to do, I don't have another room to give you" and no offer. I pay my bill of €367.70 in full, room and board. It doesn't occur to them that if the room is half the size advertised, they should offer something. “Mi dispiace” and “this is the first time someone has complained” will be their only response.

A wonderful stay after a 5-day hut tour😇 beautiful & spacious room with balcony, delicious breakfast, beautiful swimming pool & wellness. The location is close to Bolzano, lago di Carezza & sopra Bolzano. The hotel has a very good restaurant, when the weather is nice you can eat in the beautiful and attractive backyard.
