I write this review which is my second review this year. I stayed in March/April this year and all was so good that I returned to stay for 2 nights 30th Aug.-1st September. After the first night in Romani room which had the most uncomfortable bed that I had very little sleep, I had my wife contact the management to express that we could not spend another night in the room Romani. The management did get back to us and offer the original room that we had stayed in on our first visit, but we had to pay €20 more! I was insulted by this and got my wife to write back that we were unwilling to pay extra after a night of nearly no sleep and that they should change our rooms without charge. The management would not accept this and said we had to pay. We decided to leave and go to another hotel 50km away, we informed the management of this, they replied 2 hours later stating that they did not understand why we didn't just enjoy our time at Can Xicu! These invisible people only care about taking money and not about customer satisfaction! They are a disgrace to Capmany which is lovely village.

This is an old property in a scenic village in the Catalan countryside which has been converted into a luxury hostal, with spacious and well-fitted suites. No amenities on site but there are several good eateries with 5 minutes walk. A nice place for exploring the area from Figueres to Cadaques.

Fantastic
Beautifully refurbished, good service. Self check in was easy. Nice feel to the building and the town. Breakfast was at a restaurant nearby, less than 5 minutes walk.

Wat een geweldige hostal is dit. Toen we aankwamen was het even zoeken naar de parking. Je moet eerst naar je hostal om je sleutel uit een sleutel kastje te halen. Opzich ideaal kun je gelijk je bagage kwijt. Daarna 4 minuutjes (lopend) verder is de parking. Eenmaal binnen waan je je in een paradijsje een zeker niet in een ruïne wat ik eerder las in een recensie. Het is knus, het is mooi, schoon en gezellig. Wij hadden 2 van de 3 kamers geboekt. De 1 had een bubbelbad met een enorme kamer en de ander was juist een klein knus kamertje met een heel groot balkon. Op je kamer airco en een koelkastje (met gratis water en heerlijke wijn) . De bedden lagen fantastisch. Ook is er een gezamenlijke woonkamer waar je koffie kunt krijgen. Het ontbijt bestaat uit toast met verschillende soorten spaanse hammen en kazen. Dit is wat wij Hollanders niet echt gewend zijn, maar het was prima. Wil je klein, knus en schoon dan moet je hier zijn. Ben je heel slecht ter been dan is het geen aanrader vanwege de trappen.

"5 étoiles" : une vraie suite dans une bâtisse en pierres apparentes en plein centre du village. Le service est parfait même si la communication se fait par messages (Marta maîtrise parfaitement le français) C'est spacieux, propre, pas de vis à vis. Il y a même la bouteille de vin pour vous souhaiter la bienvenue. Mini frigo avec bouteilles d'eau. Tout est pensé pour vous mettre à l'aise. Surprise : on vient en votre absence pour refaire le lit. Le petit déjeuner, prévu dans le restaurant "Cal ferrer" est divin avec un serveur très attentionné. La prestation est à la hauteur de l'annonce. Seul bémol : le chien du voisin qui peut aboyer dans la nuit.

Die Bilder im Internet sind schon beeindruckend. Wenn man in das Hostal rein kommt ist es überwältigend schön und urig. Es ist alles mit Liebe eingerichtet und man fühlt sich schon am Eingang gut aufgehoben. Mit der Terrasse neben dem Zimmer hat man die Möglichkeit bei einem Glas Wein den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Würden immer wieder kommen.
