We pulled into the Royal Hotel at Capertee for an overnight stay, we stayed out the back with our caravan, easy spot to stay, the Hotel is warm and inviting with two of the five fire places going, bar staff friendly, great selection of beers and wine on offer, we ordered dinner and it didn’t disappoint, lamb shanks wonderful as was the steak.. I would suggest stopping in for lunch or dinner, it’s free camping if you are self sufficient, would we come again Yes.. great spot, highly recommend

We had a fantastic pub stay! Friendly staff, great lounge areas in front of multiple fireplaces. Awesome food with a great menu with lots of choice. The rooms & bathrooms were really clean. Outside play area for kids & a family friendly pool area inside. We would totally recommend a weekend getaway here.

Best country pub for miles! Accommodation was great and clean with outstanding staff and service. The food was delicious and the menu had variety and good prices. Friday nights are awesome with meat tray raffles and the Joker Poker draw. The pub has a real sense of community. We stayed for 3 nights and would highly recommend including this stop in your trip and staying at an iconic Aussie pub. We loved it !

Great pub lunch stop. Nice cosy rooms. Comfy chesterfield couch to relax in while the kids are playing pool. Nice beergarden, Great local drops of wine and beer on tap. Sadly the distillery cellar door wasn't open when we passed through. Ah well. We'll be back.

Stopped off for lunch while ‘passing’. A pleasant surprise in a small town. Friendly welcome, very good food and service. Capertee is a very small town but the pub deserves a visit by itself. As I say a surprise to us but a pleasant one. If we pass by again we’ll definitely stop again!

Quick stop on the way to Gulong, great place to stop have a bite to eat, have acold one and refresh. Totally unexpected to find such a quaint pub on the roadside, highly recommended stop for a wary traveller

After camping for 2 days we headed into town to grab a meal at the local pub, our expectations were zero! Can quite easily say it served one of the best, simple but well executed pub meals we have had in years. Best ever garlic bread, great Aussie burger and chicken Parma. No nonsense just good cooking.

Passing through on our way to Mudgee and stopped in for a cold beer. We were totally blown away by finding this pub it is an awesome place. The history and decor is absolutely amazing. To find a pub in this condition with nothing else around it is amazing. Highly recommend a stop over
