Royal Hotel Capertee

Yet again the best experience of our long weekend bike rides is arriving at the Royal after a cold day riding,the hospitality is as warm as the multiple coal fires throughout the pub and the only cold you will experience is in a freshly poured beer! We have stayed here on multiple occasions in the past and yet again Jordan the publican didn’t disappoint,he met us with his usual warm greeting before we even made it to the door and made us feel at home in this most beautiful part of Australia,the rooms are always immaculate and the electric blankets don’t go astray on winter nights,even after the pub (officially shut)on Sunday night Jordan stayed back for a few hours to chat with us and I think we could have solved all the problems in the world in his lounge room! Many thanks my friend,your hard work and friendly staff make it hard to leave,but we will be back,hopefully soon! Regards,Alex

We pulled into the Royal Hotel at Capertee for an overnight stay, we stayed out the back with our caravan, easy spot to stay, the Hotel is warm and inviting with two of the five fire places going, bar staff friendly, great selection of beers and wine on offer, we ordered dinner and it didn’t disappoint, lamb shanks wonderful as was the steak.. I would suggest stopping in for lunch or dinner, it’s free camping if you are self sufficient, would we come again Yes.. great spot, highly recommend

Exactly what we were after for a quick overnight stay.

Historic hotel with 5 fireplaces, superb food, timber bar and just generally a nice family feel, Electric blankets are very warm, sheets crisp and towels very white. Simple breakfast included with nice balconies and north side garden. Went for a short 5 min walk and saw ten kangaroos, Took a great photo of the hotel from the front.but no way to share here. Hope the front balcony damagefrom the wayward car is fixed soon. Finally, we stayed at Royal Capertee on our way to visit the oil shale works and we’re not disappointed with the 2 hour tour.

Never heard of the area,let alone the great pub and staff. Food was amazing and huge meals ,best pub feed in years . Nice warm fire places in the pub ,locals were cool as . Had a nice comfortable room for a good price and quiet upstairs with no noise at all coming from a good crowd there on Friday night at Saturday night.Bathroom and shower area was smick and lots of body wash and nice fresh smelling shower products. Thanks to all the staff and management,we will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone and everyone we know.Cheers Matt and Bec .
