A single bed sized electric blanket in a double bed? A microwave oven out of reach on top of the fridge. A bathroom basin so high that I had to brush my teeth in the kitchen sink. A toilet squashed in between a giant bath and the shower cubicle - not enough space. The bathroom so squashed that one had to stand in the kitchen to dry oneself. To use the toilet during the night, we had to walk through the kitchen. An outside shower that splashed all over the decking - we did not use it. For the price one would expect a laundry list and prices - but no. We paid R250.00 for 8 garments to be washed and no, we were not buying a new washing machine. For the price, we also expected the cottage to be serviced daily but this came at an additional charge way above the hourly rate paid to the staff. A pensioners discount was advertised but we did not get it when booking on Nightsbridge and no effort was made to refund us. The much vaunted hot tub was filled with dubious-looking water. To use it, there was an additional charge for wood to heat the water. We have nothing but praise for the 5 other places we stayed at on our road trip. It is really sad that our stay in Robertson was so disappointing. We definitely won't be back.

We spent only one night here but it was a highlight of our trip to South Africa. The location is just amazing with beautiful views from everywhere in the reserve and especially from the deck of our tent. We went for a swim in the reservoir which was lovely and the kids had fun playing with boats. The tent itself is super well equipped and very comfortable with good beds and a powerful shower. We had both the brai and breakfast baskets and it was really fun to enjoy these on our deck. A magical place.

My experience at Pat Busch Africamps was absolutely awesome. Management bent backwards to put me in the best tent far and away from any other visitors, which was my luck as my visit was during the week and in Winter when there is more of choice than in Summer. I suppose one would not always be able to 'pick a tent' but all the tents have a view on the beautiful Langeberg Mountains and are exactly the same inside. Fireplace outside and in, white bedlinen, warm electric blankets and even aircon ! Luxorious camping indeed! The greatness of Nature surrounds you and even though travelling on my own I could never be lonely there. In this place of solitude, you can walk many beautiful paths in the mountains with the sound of rivers and birds and silence in your ears! I must do if you care to get away from city life and it's madness. Though there is wifi, you will feel guilty to use it. The mountains and nature call, and you must answer! Follow your heart there, not your head!

This was the venue chosen by our daughter for her wedding. The resort is breathtaking to say the least. We stayed in tent 2 and found it to be extremely comfortable. Thank you for adding another unforgettable memory to our list of outstanding places we have been to.

Me and my fiancé were excited to book accommodation with Africamps. We booked the accommodation 3 months in advance and we're traveling from the Netherlands. On our arrival we were shocked to find that there was no one to receive us. The place was in chaos and we were standing outside in the rain for 40min waiting for our rooms to be made ready (which should have been ready by then). After the wait we had learned that an electrical transformer had blown. Which meant that there was no electricity or running water at the units as these units are provided water using electrical pumps. They assured us it would be fixed within a few hours, but we decided to cancel the booking and move on as it was very risky to stay over not knowing if/when we will have electricity and running water. A couple days later we had learned that it took them 36 hours to get electricity and running water again. We had negotiated with them and afterwards got the website we had booked through also to try and negotiate. They ourtright refused both negotiations. It is absolutely ridiculous that they expected us to live in a place that does not have access to basic human rights (electricity and running water). I would not recommend using them at all, ESPECIALLY NOT if you are traveling from abroad. YOU WILL BE SEVERELY DISSAPOINTED. They do not care that we traveled all the way from the Netherlands and tried to give us "credit" for booking another stay with them. I tried to explain to them it is not an option as it costs us thousands of euros to book a trip to South Africa, but they did not care at all. The worst service I have had with an accommodation ever. They took thousands of Rands from me and my fiancé and would not even negotiate for a partial refund. They are clearly not equipped to deal with any form of emergency and I will not be returning to them. And to think we were thinking of booking our wedding on their premises (Pat Busch). Steer clear from this one.

It was our first visit to an AfriCamps and we were super impressed by the Pat Busch location and atmosphere of being in 'the Bush' fantastic views from your tent deck into the mountains. Lovely walks/hikes, pool and very well stocked shop with friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Oh and to pop in for a Cuppauccino!

Stunning location with breathtaking views. Abundant birdlife and flora....just beautiful. Gravel roads can be improved and free wood for fires provided. Service by staff was friendly and efficient. Will recommend as a destination.

A wonderful getaway not too far from Cape Town, but it feels like you are in the middle of the wilderness. Hiking, biking and bird watching as well as fishing from the beautiful dams. Brilliant place to bring the kids. The little shop at reception is well stocked, but Pat Busch Nature Reserve is well situated to go wine tasting and explore the Breede River Valey and surrounds. Or you could, like we did, just stay in camp and enjoy the tranquility and immerse yourself in nature and let the friendly staff deliver breakfast and BBQ baskets every morning and evening. Can't wait to go back.
