On a recent guided tour to South Africa, this was the hotel we were based in for our 4 days in Cape Town. It is handily located 5mins taxi ride (20min plus walk) from the Waterfront in Cape Town. It is in a quiet part of the city. The hotel is modern, the staff very friendly and rooms well sized and equipped (although having a curtain to pull right across the width of the room to seperate the room when someone was in the shower is a novelty). Depending on which side of the hotel you are on you get a great view of Table Mountain/Signal Hill. Breakfast was included and the hoetl breakfast selection was excellent, a good start to the day. All in all a very pleasant stay, a great base for exploring Cape Town and a good start to the trip

Having travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

Location is good to walk to the parks and museums. It is a long walk to the V&A Wharf so you might want to take a cab ride there.Room was a nice size and it was clean. There was some banging noise we could hear in the bathroom but not the bedroom. The cabinet over the coffee maker had very sharp corners so you need to mind your head as you go in and out of the bathroom as you could easily hit it on the sharp corners. The load sharing causes the power to go off in the hotel. They have generators, however, you can’t make coffee until 6 pm as they turn off the power to the outlets. The closet was very small. Staff was very friendly and willing to please, but they didn’t always understand what we were trying to communicate like the fact the one elevator wasn’t working and needed service. This is a decent hotel, but it isn't close to the V&A if you want to be near those shops and restaurants.

Very satisfied with this hotel. Good location, but quite noise at night, as the street is very lively. The rooms were great, clean and the staff just sooo friendly and helpfull. Can recommend this hotel for a couple of nights

This accommodation was a fantastic few in the beautiful city of Cape Town. Very eclectic mix of visitors from young backpackers, families and couples. We stayed in an en-suite double room which was perfect for our needs. There are so many beautiful communal areas to relax in and the bar was always relaxing and comfortable. They have organised activities that you can join or you can simply use it as a base to stay in. Would thoroughly recommend and it’s great to know that some of the revenue goes to a worthy cause.

I have been in Cape Town at least 20 times, and for now, this is my favorite place to stay. The location is great: in Gardens, which is for me the best place to stay at, in a quiet side street, and in easy walking distance of several restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms are big and very comfortable. Staff is friendly and its really good value for money. If you dont like very loud music, make sure to pay a little bit more and choose a room at the back of the building, so that you dont ”enjoy” the music of the mexican restaurant beneath the front rooms.
