The worst night sleep ever in a hotel. Sadly, the peace and tranquility advertised by this resort was not our reality. There is a detour taking traffic within yards of the room we were allocated. Moreover, the room would not lock, was dirty and the patio had stains and water from the leak pouring from the roof. Even the bath robe was stained and dirty. The staff were lovely and apologised - the next day we were moved to the main house which is ok, but not worth the high costs.

The staff ,particularly Benson, were friendly and helpful.The hotel is in a lovely location giving an impression of an English country house.Which of course is what it was.Views of the bay are exceptional.The rooms are comfortable and clean.

A very relaxed place with a mix of spacious old and new rooms. We were in the Manor House, our friends in a modern villa with their own pool. Both were excellent. We particularly liked the relaxed eating on the terrace, no need to dress up. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. I enjoyed an excellent massage at the Spa. There are grounds to explore and you can walk down to the beach - but not with children as it's uneven down through the woods (nice and cool!) We would very happily stay here again when next in Cape Town.

We loved it! Our first time in Cape Town and it won’t be our last! Every thing was perfect! We will return some and stay at Camps Bay Retreat again. Highly recommended The staff were friendly and welcoming. We booked trip to Cape Point on the hotels recommendation and had a great time! The twice weekly Braai is great value too!
