Zest Boutique Hotel by the Living Journey Collection

Everything was wonderful at Zest Boutique Hotel. The staff were absolutely the nicest hotel staff I have ever encountered. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. I appreciated the environmental efforts made and the food, including the breakfast spread, dessert of the day, and homemade cookies in the room, was delicious. We were warned about the construction next door but it didn't bother us at all. We were able to easily walk from the hotel to the waterfront. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed at Zest as well at the Tree House sister Hotel Both experiences were were poor as their beds are in SHOCKING CONDITION. The king size mattresses having no support and should have been changed out years ago. There is a 10mm SAG on either side where bodies have laid f night after night. I ended up having to sleep on the hump in the middle a mere 600 mm space. When at the treehouse location I requested that the mattress be exchanged they told me that they did not have any other mattresses and that they were all the same. My friend who slept in room number 11 had the identical experience after trying to sleep. Flipping the mattress did not help either We ended up going to a chiropractor two days in a row for an adjustment and could barely walk. The ownerLorraine was approached ONCE to provide some kind of compensation and she and her management team refused to do so. I will never stay on their properties again. Furthermore I explained I would write a negative review as Trip advisor member so other clients can avoid the same unpleasant experience Please stay away from the Living Journey group at all cost rather stay at the Table Bay hotel

This is a great small hotel to base yourself to explore Cape Town. We stayed for two days after arriving from the UK. There is very limited customer parking. The small pool and garden is lovely accessed via some steep steps. The staff are excellent and very keen to help. We had a surprise birthday cake a bottle of wine as it was my wife’s birthday. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a cooked option. The rooms are small but well designed. When we stayed there was major construction going on right next door but we were out most of the time it was going on. Also the Load Sharing meant that the electricity went off for two hours in the early evening. However, the hotel gives you a large LED torch so you can get around in the dark. They do not do evening meals but there are a few burger places close by and the main tourist are is a short Uber ride away. They arranged a massage for us at a local sister hotel which was cheap but perfect after the long flight.

This is a fantastic option for your time in Cape Town! Lots of great food options nearby. The staff was so friendly and helpful! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay for two nights. The breakfast was delicious and the room was very comfortable!

This boutique hotel is really lovely. Situated a short walk from the V&A and other attractions so very hand for getting around. The hotel is spotless and the staff are really helpful and very friendly. We found Faye to be so accommodating, nothing was too much. The breakfast was very tasty and beautifully presented. The roof terrace is a great place to hang out. Love the fact they are looking to be more sustainable too. Thank you for a truly super stay. Would definitely recommend.

Location is perfect, rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are amazing! For a small boutique hotel, it has all the amenities you need and a comfortable lounge area where the hotel offers a "wine of the day" and "cake of the day", adding a little unexpected something extra to the stay.

I stayed at Zest Boutique Hotel in late May 2024, three wonderful nights! It was early on during my 30-day trip throughout Africa. The hotel is set in a peaceful neighborhood in Green point, about one block off the Strand. If you wish to walk to the V&A Waterfront or to Greenmarket Square, both are in close proximity, and it's even quicker if you Uber. The property is immaculate, very well-maintained. When entering the hotel, you must be buzzed in, which adds a nice level of security. The lobby, breakfast area and lounge area are all located on the ground floor, and very cozy. There is a lovely small courtyard, with lemon, lime and avocado trees, which provides a feeling of being in paradise. The breakfast offerings in the morning are quite adequate and tasty. The small bar in the lounge offers a nice array of beers, wines and hard alcohol, reasonably priced. My room was spacious (especially the bathroom fully equipped with the appropriate amenities) and very clean. Although I was not on an upper floor, my small balcony afforded me a sliver view of the ocean in the distance. I must particularly give a shout out to the wonderful staff, especially Faye, the manager. She was courteous, professional, and always cheerful. Any request I made was handled by Faye without question or issue, be it refrigerating medications for me, making dinner reservations and, when I wanted a full bottle of sparkling wine from the bar (which I could not consume all at once), after my glass was poured, Faye found the appropriate stopper, marked my bottle with my name and kept it refrigerated! That's great service! Give this cool little hotel a try; you will not be disappointed!

I have never felt so valued as a hotel guest. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. This is the benefit of a boutique hotel and not a feeling you get when staying at large, chain hotels. Each day I came back to a different treat on my pillow. At the end of the stay I was given a bracelet and informed that the cost of my stay went towards providing a child with an education. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the V & A, I didn’t feel unsafe walking to it. There is also a little shop around the corner from the hotel if you fancy some snacks. Shout out to Faye who was amazing. She even checked the identity of a tour guide that I booked through a third party to ensure I would be safe. The hotel provide tours which were a little pricey and as a solo tourist I wanted to join a group hence why I didn’t book through them. Zest booked me one of their taxis from the airport which was 800 rand, I took an Uber back which cost 230 rand.
