Noon High Tea at Mount Nelson under the steady hand of an excellent tea sommelier and outstanding service from Thuli is not to be missed. The selection of petit sandwhiches and sweets were so very enjoyable, especially the prawns on brioche was delectable. Welcomed with a nice rose champagne followed by a vast assortment of delectable teas. A walk around the captivating grounds capped off a stellar experience! Enjoy yourselves, we certainly did! ☕️

Never have me and my family stayed in a hotel quite like the Mount Nelson! An experience of a lifetime, every staff member go out of their way for you, above and beyond to make your stay in Cape Town the best you will ever have. A true gem! We visited in early July for 5 nights and had a mixed bag of weather and even the rains couldn’t dampen our stay. The doormen greeted us every day with wide grins and greetings and the attention to detail was second to none! Tshepo, Kennedy, Limdile, Olondo, Pootea were so good with our teenage sons, who had the best craic with them every evening. Michael, guest experience manager, was perfection! A true gentleman who really took an interest in us, catering to our needs sublimely. No request was too big. Dylan was always a cheery face around the hotel offering us anything and making sure we felt at home. Luvo, our breakfast server was always on hand to make our mornings perfect. And when I speak about breakfast, I can’t describe the abundance for the first meal of the day. Never have we been met with a breakfast as plentiful as the breakfast here. There is absolutely nothing you won’t find available… NOTHING! I feel every staff deserves a mention and sadly I don’t know all their names. But if I could name them all, I would. An experience of a lifetime, this hotel is really a home away from home. Their greeting at arrival, “welcome home” sums up this hotel in two perfect words. As I write this, we are on our last night here and all I can say is I don’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back “home”.

My husband and I went to the Afternoon Tea and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing experience and the various combinations of food. We had the best waitress, Cheslyn, who served us with excellence and was so kind in making our first visit at the Mount Nelson the absolute best. We will definitely visit again just because of her! Thank you to Craig who ensures you have a tea blend selected just for you. 10/10!

Room was not up to scratch (especially at this price!) exploding bedside lamp, non-fuctioning nespresso machine and no milk in the fridge. This was a business trip, coffee (and light!) is essential....

Stayed here for three nights to cap off a safari tour of Zimbabwe and South Africa. The hotel kindly upgraded us to a Junior Suite which was enormous and beautiful. Dinner at the Red Room was excellent and the tours -- one of Cape Point and one of the Wine Country with Jarat Tours -- were fabulous!

Having travelled all over the world, I can confidently say my two-night stay at Mount Nelson (the culmination of my partner's 50th birthday celebration) was close to if not the best hotel experience I've had. While the property is beautiful and steeped in history (and beautiful art), mainly and especially it was the MN team. If you're coming to Cape Town for something special, stay with this team. Crystal, Alexander and the reception team took great care to welcome us right from the start, even though we rushed them to run out the door for a tour. When we returned, Crystal picked right up where we left off, complete with glass of bubbly, so we didn't miss a thing. Nyelle at the Planet Bar was so, so welcoming and hospitable, giving us dining tips and Gin recommendations, and did an amazing job balancing conversation while letting us play Uno over martinis. William gave us a fabulous final delicious meal (we were not expecting amazing curry and roti this far from home), and to top it all off, Bathabile came by the table at the end to ensure our airport transfer was arranged and give us a personal goodbye (since she would be gone in the morning), and to top it off, remembered it was my partner's bithday celebration, and gave him some Mount Nelson socks as a remembrance. From start to end, just a truly special stay that was a capstone to an amazing Africa visit. Thank you team.

The best breakfast buffet in cape town, had everything you could want. The egg toast on brioche was the highlight. The chef Andrea was delightful and even told my dad where to buy the ingredients. Our server Luvo(hope I spelt that right) super friendly and funny, even bringing me a small gift for my birthday was the cherry on top. Then Nicky also very friendly and entertaining the conversation with my dad very respectful. Everyone was super friendly and I will recommend to anyone. Lastly thank you Kimberly for showing me this gem, so glad to have met you.
