We stayed at the Solara for three nights and four days. Wow there were some good things about it. But there were also many cons. First of all the hotel was very dated and needed some repairs and upgrades. The carpeting to the bedroom was torn, and most of the carpeting was stained and soiled. The icemaker did not work, and we had to go down to the garage to get ice from the icemaker. The room was rather dark, and the lighting was dimmed. They could definitely use light bulbs that were brighter. It was also very hard to reach anybody if we needed anything. There was no phone in the unit, and when I called Customer Service most of the times I just got voicemail. When I left a message, nobody called me back. Finally the second day I reached a person and was able to get what I needed. The pros: We had an incredible shower, bathtub. The washer dryer was very good and fairly new. And most of the appliances were great as well. We had enough plates, silverware, and utensils for our stay, and the bed was comfortable. The rooms were spacious, and I loved the fireplaces. It was an ideal location, very close to the shops and easy access to the highway Overall, we had a good stay, but it was hard to give it a five star rating because of the cons

This place is terrible! DO NOT STAY HERE! Way over priced, service is terrible. Staff are like robots. Why can’t people at the front desk just say “Hi welcome to the solara, how can I help you? I hope you have an amazing stay. If there is anything I can do for you just let me know. But no the staff just grunts!!! This place is so dated!! And dirty. There is absolutely nothing good to say about the solara! Nothing!!!!!

The sign in lobby indicates pool hot tub and water play area. There is no water play area Pool and Hot Tub looking very old which makes it appear “ dirty”. 6 calls to front desk and spa. None one answered. Carpets hallways and elevator worn, stained. The complex needs Reno to match current cost !!!

This place is ok. It is VERY tired!! We had a two bedroomed apartment. It was dark inside and looked quite dingy. The blinds where broken on the main windows and the rug in the middle of the floor was so tired and dirty. It was equipped ok but these rooms are well past their date. They definitely need upgraded, something from the 80's!! Would not stay here again.

This was the worst “luxury” hotel I have ever stayed at. Our two star hotels along the way were nicer and much cleaner. My families experience got worse with every day. After three days and no resolution they let us leave and not pay for the remainder of our trip with a small discount on the first 3 days. Room wasn’t clean upon arrival. Couch needs completely replaced as it looks like they got it off the side of the road. Literally falling apart onto the sofa bed and sticking on your clothes. Had to cover it with sheets and get a portable bed for my kids. Rug was stained with previous guests toe nails stuck to it. Rolled it up so we didn’t have to touch it and piles of dirt were on the floor. House keeping showed up even-though we were specially told they wouldn’t be coming into our room for guest and staff safety. Their website doesn’t describe the actual experience you will have. Go in expecting far less than described and pay a price that matches what you will get. My last straw was when the garage door under us wouldn’t stop opening and loudly closing all night long. I have a video of how loud and frequent it was but I can’t post here. The desk staff seemed surprised this was happening when I showed them the video. Based on the piles of drywall dust in the corners of the rooms this isn’t a new issue. They also roll 3 very large and loud dumpers in and out of the garage before 8 am. Be warned the parking situation is horrible if you have a car that isn’t compact. Spaces are tight with concrete columns. Don’t plan on easy access to a luggage cart to unpack your car . They are impossible to find and desk staff doesn’t care to help you locate one. See photos and don’t stay in 121 if you want any peace.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed at Solara. It's a good place to stay but needs to prioritize maintenance before its quality falls below a level it can't recover from. Pros: Awesome beds, we had a very goodnite sleep, 3 nights. Clean rooms overall Clean barbeque, surprised about this one. Great location Good parking Fully stocked kitchen Robe in closet Washer and dryer w/ soap Ice machine in hallway Fireplaces Cons: Floors are very thin, you can hear neighbours on top floor Rusty fans in the pool ceiling Hot tub floor made my feet swell Dirty cups in the room Pool towels were VERY tiny and worn Murky pool water

I recently stayed in the Aurora building in a 2 bedroom suite. Positives: Highlighting both positive aspects: While the building itself left me disappointed, I have to commend the guest staff at Solera for their consistent friendliness and helpfulness. From answering questions to resolving minor issues, their professionalism and genuine care stood out. Mentioning spacious and clean suite: My spacious and clean suite, as mentioned previously, remained a highlight of my stay, offering a welcome respite from exploring the town. It's important to note that my stay was booked through Airbnb, and the hosts were fantastic throughout the process. Their communication was excellent, and they were readily available to answer any questions I had. Negatives: However, the building's condition had noticeably declined since my last visit. Door frames stood bare, stripped of their casings, holes, and dings in walls, worn out and dirty carpeting in hallways and the exposed garbage chute was an eyesore and potential safety hazard. It feels that the building has simply not been kept with its finishings. The pool area, once inviting (in my previous stays), had devolved into a state of disrepair. Murky, opaque water shrouded the bottom, raising concerns about its cleanliness. The high chlorine levels stung my skin, and the hot tub appeared equally neglected. What should have been a refreshing oasis became a source of unease. Most alarmingly, the ceiling fans above the pool deck sported a thick layer of black mold (or black dust), with visible flecks raining down into the water. This blatant disregard for hygiene was deeply unsettling and raised serious health concerns. Further highlighting the lack of upkeep, the garbage chute door partially ripped away from the wall when I pulled on it, dangling precariously and refusing to open properly. Disposing of trash became a hassle, adding to the overall disappointment with the resort's condition. (Aurora Floor 1) Overall Impression: My previous experience at Solera had been positive, but this recent visit revealed a disturbing decline in the building's upkeep and overall hygiene. The visible lack of maintenance, particularly evident in the pool area and the presence of mold, raises serious questions about the commitment to guest health and safety. While the guest staff's dedication was commendable and the Airbnb hosts were great, it did not outweigh the concerns about the building's state. Given that the suite was in decent condition, I would return however would not use the amenities. The amount that the property owners are presumably paying in condo fees, it may be time to review their property management agreements.

This place, on paper, has everything. I am not unhappy about the condo's size, location, aesthetic and value for money but it has seen better days. The oven didn't work, the knives were not sharp enough to cut anything, the chair in the living room was beyond threadbare, and most of the furniture was deeply scratched up. The carpets in the hall were dirty and worn and the signage in the elevators was damaged or more correctly creatively edited by other guests. The previous guest's dirty underwear and socks under the bed were, however, not a great discovery. Would I go back? Probably because the big-picture stuff outweighed the icks.
