pleasantly welcomed on a January evening in this almost fairy-tale complex from centuries ago. We extended our stay to fully enjoy all the peculiarities of the place. the fireplace always lit during breakfast time, the quite park and the beatiful dependancies surrounding the magie Manoir house and

Top notch accomodations and service in a 16th century Manor house. Spent one night here in November before returning home overseas. This is an upscale resort that also caters to small private groups. Two issues to be aware of, due the authentic restoration of the Manor building. There is no elevator in this building, and the both the floor and stairs are uneven. The charming architecture meant in our 3rd floor room, angled timbers made accessing the bed from one side problematic. If you have mobility issues, request a room in a lower floor, or in one of the cottages. Second, we did not notice any HVAC vents- heating was through traditional radiators. Cooling may be an issue in hot weather- you might want to confirm how rooms are cooled if visiting in the summer. But overall, this hotel was wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay at your hotel very much and found Normandy absolutely marvelous. The horse-riding in Deauville was excellent, the hotel grounds and room and the American Cemetery. We only wished we had more time to spend there. Will surely recommend your hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. However, our room was not to our liking. I booked a deluxe room with air conditioning, which was not there and the windows could not be opened. Very warm at night and felt very closed in and stuffy. I complained about it, but the lady at the reception did not agree with me. The nights are getting colder and according to her, there is no need to open a window?! So she decides for me that I should just sleep in a warm room and that it was therefore quite normal. Pets are welcome there fine, but strange that they are allowed in the breakfast room. Looks like a dog kennel and it is also not hygienic. Too bad for such a beautiful place. But unfortunately I will recommend it.

I wish I had read the 1* and 2* reviews on here before booking. I thought an overall 4.5* was reliable but I think people who gave those stayed a very short time. We stayed 8 nights and had the 'full' experience... As others have noted, this is not a 4* hotel. It is some rooms, with a pool outside in a very pretty garden, but it bears no resemblance to a hotel in terms of service and standards. I have stayed in far superior 2* hotels. It was a hugely disappointing stay. Having to constantly ask for very basic things like shampoo and soap is frustrating and eventually we stopped trying. By the end of our stay, our frustration had turned to anger but there was no point complaining. The problems are not occasional or errors, they are systemic. We noticed a plaque for 'Buildinvest' on the gate. I googled the company. It explains quite a lot. I recommend you google the company and it's main business and business model before booking... A quick summary: * the shower leaked all over the floor * the shower head bracket was broken * toiletries in our room were never replenished - not once - in 8 nights! We had to beg the desk staff for shampoo. They then ran around looking in cupboards. Sometimes they brought some, sometimes they just forgot about it. In the end we went to a supermarket and bought some for ourselves. I have never had to do that when staying in a 4* hotel. * there were holes in one of the bath towels we were provided with. * the rug in the room was tatty and had come unstuck from the floor. It was a massive trip hazard in the middle of the room and my husband fell over it on the first day. We had to ask twice for it to be rectified over a course of 4 days. There is clearly no maintenance staff on site. Nothing gets repaired or maintained. * breakfast is disappointing. It is the same everyday - in the case of the fruit and 'salad' it is literally the same food. The cucumber had gone slimy and the apples were old and soft but they continued to bring them out day after day. By day 3 I really wanted to leave but we had paid over £2,000 upfront so were trapped there. * the breakfast seating is appalling. Everyone is crammed into tiny tables around sofas that are never used. Guests have to queue up at a machine to get a coffee. It's like a budget hotel. There was clear anger among a number of guests but the staff seem oblivious to it. On the final morning all the tables outside were covered in the dirty ashtrays from the previous night, filled will old cigarette butts. It was depressing. I couldn't face it and left and paid for breakfast elsewhere. * the only coffee onsite is from a self-service coffee machine that uses powdered milk. It is appalling. Like something from an M40 service station c.1989. Everyone in the breakfast room was disgusted, French, German, English alike. It is not appropriate for a venue that claims to be a 4* hotel. How hard is it to serve guests a proper cup of coffee? * we went out and bought milk to have
