We had a great experience at Campamento Canaima. The hotel has the best location in Canaima. The views are amazing! We stayed at a top deluxe room and we were satisfied. The service, the excursions, and the activities were excellent. The only constructive feedback we have is about the food portions, they were really small, we were able to ask for more and the restaurant staff would gladly provide more but it would be more convenient to either serve the food on a buffet or serve full portions. We will definitely be going back, we fell in love with the local culture😍

It was one of the best experience and adventure in many years. Before visiting the place, I had not much expectation as it is such an exile location. However, the hotel itself was very spot on. The lobby, restaurants and room were clean and well-maintained. Service was also impeccable despite having few staffs able to communicate in English. Wifi was available in good speed at lobby and beach restaurant. The only downside for me, maybe not solvable, is their using the water from the falls in use in the room. It is usable to wash body but I am not sure its suitable for brushing the teeth or washing the face. The excursions they provided was the adventure of lifetime. Adjacent Sapo and Hacha falls were marvelous. It was so wet but so enjoyable. The highlight, Angel Falls excursion, was one of best adventures in my life. South America always inspires me in some ways, the same applies to Angel Falls. The 4-hr boat adventure through rains and rapid were tiring but great. The falls is magnificent and totally worthy your difficulty and money. I just love every minute there. The camp was equipped with wifi and offered showers and appropriate toilets. These were much beyond my expectation. The food was also nice, freshly prepared and served in buffet. Overall, highly recommonded to be one of journey of your life!

ENG VERSION TERRIBLE!!! If ******** is your thing and you're willing to lose a night and have $600 per person taken from you, this is the place for you. Campamento Canaima (CN) forces you to travel by plane with Conviasa. In fact, you purchase the airplane ticket and reserve the room all through CN. However, if Conviasa decides to cancel the flight for reasons X, Y, or Z, you lose your night because these people don't take responsibility for the mistakes of a provider they force you to use. Upon arriving exhausted the next day in Canaima (the flight ended up departing at 7 AM instead of the scheduled 3 PM the previous day), the camp management did NOT apologize. They didn't mention any efforts to partially or fully compensate for the lost night. There was ZERO proactivity in solving the situation. Additionally, they assign you to a local activities coordinator (no manager) who informs us that the expeditions we had reserved must be done exhausted. There was barely time for breakfast before going out to undertake the expeditions and have the trip they want you to have, not the one you paid for, because there was NO OTHER OPTION... THAT SAID, the local staff is very decent, friendly, and cool, but the management is TERRIBLE. When we asked the manager, he gave us more excuses than a spinning top. He claimed it was Conviasa's fault, that it was the first time it happened to them, that they had no plan B, didn't know what to do, questioned why we were complaining so much, and insisted we were the only group complaining, which was a lie because several people were also requesting refunds. The management's response was a resounding NO. They simply didn't want to budge. On the last day, along with others after pressuring, the general manager told us he could accompany us to the airport to talk to Conviasa. Upon doing so, Conviasa said it had to be done in Maiquetia (Ping Pong). So, pressuring at the airport, the general manager gave us a phone number and said we might be offered some kind of discount for another hotel of theirs or a partial refund... Well, it's been 1 month since we returned from Canaima, and the man stopped responding. HERE, the responsibility lies solely with the camp. The airline ticket is purchased through them, so Conviasa is nothing more than a provider. It's SUPER poorly managed by the general manager, the owners, and the whole scheme behind these camps. There's nowhere to complain, no entity, no organization, nothing... Just leaving a one-star review here and on TripAdvisor to warn other adventurers and recommend they go to another camp/lodge because in this one, they might take your money, and you can't do anything about it. SPA Version TERRIBLE!!!

Amazing views is the Canaima lagoon. Main areas like lobby, beach and living areas are very pretty and have internet. The rooms, however, are very basic and do not even have night tables. The staff is friendly but not very informative. There were a few organized events but they never let us know in advance so we missed them. Unfortunately, we came in a week that there were a group of over 60 parachuters and all their attention was to that group Being a group of all young people, they were rowdy and occupied all the chairs and sofas in the main area and in the all 3 days we were there, there was no place to seat. This is the biggest camp in the area. If I ever come back, I would probably choose another camp to stay. Canaima is definitely a place to visit.

Exceeded expectations. From smooth arrival and check in, with welcome drinks and very accommodating staff, to very good food, cozy rooms, variety of trip options and absolutely amazing view from the lobby terrace on the lagoon and waterfalls. Considering you are in the middle of the jungle, internet service in the lobby is amazing, however not very much available in the rooms (which was also good to disconnect). Would definitely recommend it and hope to come back again.

Campamento Canaima is probably the "highest" end place to stay among the place to stay in the area. The location is spectacular with views of waterfalls and fresh water swimming and kayaking. The service is good, thoughtful and attentive. The basic rooms, what I think are called "superior deluxe" are extremely basic, but you are in the jungle :) However, I have a great tip for finding other rooms on the property. The website doesn't advertise some amazing villas and houses for rent on one end of the sprawling property. If you travel with a group or family you MUST check out these places. SInce you'll be doing all day hikes and outings, it's nice to return to a comfortable space that has full concierge service (We loved Luis!). Ask for connections to the owners of those spaces when you try to book. You get lots of meals, which are perfectly fine for the spot. I was a little confused why they always served things like meat and pasta while there is fresh local fish everywhere. Also, they have wifi, but make sure you understand what wifi in the jungle is like. Especially when you have about 100 guests using it at the same time. Just another note: I'm not a fan of the crowd that stays there. It's VERY touristy and everywhere you go people are doing selfies, holding selfie sticks etc. I was the only American (U.S.) there, and was hoping to get away from this type of tourism, but it is EVERYWHERE these days. So be careful when you go on group tours. Do the plane to cave kavac. It's stunning. I'd highly highly suggest a helicopter to angel falls over the full day boat trip--it's 12 hours and lots of tourists at times. PLEASE!!!! Book your own private tour--we went to a bunch of exclusive tours with the local expert on Canaima- Antonio Hitcher (he's half native Pemon, so knows the culture). He grew up there, knows everything like the back of his hand, and will take you on unique, glorious tours ( be brave and take an all day hike with him to the top of a Tepuy).

Just magnificent! The service, the food, the amenities, everyone making you feel at home every minute of your stay, and it’s amazing how they have managed to integrate the whole local community into the different services they offer with the highest quality standards.

In one word Incredible. Visited the Salto Ángel. After 73 km over the rivers through the rainforest with a boat arrived at the foot of this amazing waterfall. One of the things you must have seen in your life. Together with the group climbed to the bay under the waterfall. The water is fantastic. What an experience.

Spectacular! Very good service, the room in very good condition. The unbeatable atmosphere. The views are exceptional. The excursions offered are well organized, the guides are attentive and know the area perfectly. The walk to Angel Falls is super special, you have to physically prepare to get there, but I would do it again!!! The food is good.
