Absolute gem of a hotel, I checked the reviews before I booked a week in this hotel, some were very disrespectful!! We checked in very late, Alison was great and we slept like babies according to previous reviews the food was awful when in actual fact it was delicious, not a lot of choice but that’s not a problem, we always had a very good breakfast and dinner. The ice cream at this hotel is the best we have ever tasted. The hotel was spotless, every member of staff was polite and couldn’t do enough for you, we were room 101, 4 steps to a huge terrace for sunbathing, reading and napping. Indoor pool was perfect, yes the ceiling maybe needs abit of attention, but the pool itself fabulous x The beach is literally 5 mins walk across the road The snack bar Don Juan was great for drinks and snacks, and good value. We returned home completely rested and relaxed, thank you to all at the hotel for a great holiday x

Just got home from a week here and we have had the most relaxed holiday ever. The rooms are spacious and clean with plenty of space. Our room was cleaned daily and we had fridge, and safe. I requested a kettle at reception and was given it immediately. The safe cost me 15 euros for 6 days. Air con was great we had to use blankets as I just couldn’t get it right we were either too hot or too cold but plenty of extra bedding and pillows in the cupboard to solve this. Always space on the rooftop terrace for sunbathing but with the beautiful beach across the road we didn’t really use it. The sea was so clear and warm it was lovely. Sunbeds cot me 23 euros for the day and with that we got 2 sunbeds an umbrella, extra mattress on the sunbed which did make a huge difference and a safe. We only used this on our last day as we took lilos down we purchased from the local shop for 7 euros each and sunbathed on them. Food at the hotel was great for us. A different choice every day and it was always hot and really tasty. Younger children may struggle. But always a soup of the day with fresh bread, fish or meat dish and fresh fruit, cakes and different desserts. Breakfast covered everything you needed to set you up for the day. Coffee, juices, sausages, bacon, beans, eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, cakes, fresh fruit and yoghurts. Drinks were extremely fair priced at the bar attached to the hotel. It cost us 5.50 euros for a pint of shandy and a Fanta lemon. The staff are all extremely friendly and will do anything to make your stay better. At the end of the holiday we had a late flight so we left our cases with reception and then used the showers in the indoor swimming pool to freshen up. It was stress free and we even had a swim in the pool which was lovely. Took us about 20 mins from the hotel to walk to the main ***** and it’s a lovely walk along the coast. Without a doubt I would go back to this hotel.

Really enjoyed our 11 nights at this hotel. Small and friendly, just how we like it. The staff are hard working, professional and very friendly. Rooms are spacious with modern bathrooms, air-conditioning and adequate sized balconies. I could not fault the food, 5 choices every evening and everything I ate was delicious. The location was perfect! A few nice bars, restaurants and shops close by, the Don Juan attached to the hotel is excellent. Good food and great prices. A nice, scenic, flat, 20 minute walk takes you into the main town which has a fabulous vibe. Plenty of good places to eat and drink with lots of shops to browse. Would not hesitate to recommend or return to this lovely little hotel.

This was our first visit to the Hotel Bonsai - we would strongly recommend it and will be back. Overall Impression The hotel is spotless, and the public room immaculate and comfortable. Facilities The sunbathing area has plenty of sun umbrellas and we never had any problem obtaining a lounger. We enjoyed using the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi - there is also a sauna. Dining Room Experience In recent years, we have taken all inclusive holidays, where - inevitably - there is a slight conveyor belt feel, as you are not encouraged to linger. However, at the Bonsai, you are not rushed - and when you want to relax and enjoy your holiday, that makes a huge difference. The service was friendly and efficient. Drinks were also reasonably priced. Food For us, the one of the highlights of our stay was the food, especially the evening meal. We were impressed by the quality, range, and variation. Everything was clearly prepared with care and the buffet section was kept clean at all times. A huge thank you to the chefs for all their hard work. Staff It would be unfair to identify individual members of staff, as there was such a friendly and family atmosphere at the hotel - from reception, cleaning, waiting staff, bar staff and chefs. We were very well looked after. Not related to the hotel, but some additional comments. Getting about One couple used the Ting Ting train (stop opposite) to get into town (stop 5 or 6), for just 4.5 euros each. Note, there is quite a break in the timetable at lunch time. Market We visited the market twice. Turn left, and when you have reached the police station (approx 10 minutes walk), you have reached the beginning of the market. If you are after bags, we felt the best value was at the stalls with prices clearly indicated, with were at the far (C’an Picafort) end. Lunch It is, of course possible to eat at the Bonsai, and if you sit outside the bar it has a great location for people watching, whatever the time of day. We went to three restaurants for lunch, which we would recommend. We found a Google search accurate for opening times and directions. Restaurante C’an Tomeu Carrer Ran de Mar, 15 (off Passeig Colon) Visited twice and had the outstanding set menu. Very friendly and typical Mallorcan food. Bar Er Domi Carretera Santa Margalida, 15 (to the left of the police station) Great food. El Gaucho Asador Carrer Silenci, 16 (on the beach, the further end of the resort) We had the set menu (12 noon- 3.30pm). These are our personal views - please double check any information.

Small hotel, but very clean. Nothing was too much trouble. Close to an excellent beach. 15 min walk onto the Center. We was excellent I was dubious reading previous comments, but there is something for everyone. Carmen in the resteraunt was very professional in her role. More attentive than in the all inclusive hotels. Allison on the front desk was very helpful and informative . All in all we would definitely go back. To be picky, requires a little updating, Charge for safety deposit. But all in all would definitely recommend hotel Bonsai, if you want a quiet holiday. But short walk to bars/restaurants

I initially read all the reviews after booking this holiday and was concerned that we were going to be eating at various restaurants because the food is reputabley so awful. I have to say, there is always something to eat and Ifound it quite amusing watching what other holiday makers would put on their plates as a side dish; one person had mashed potatoe with pasta in a marinara sauce , my husband included. An example of the food on offer on one evening: grilled pork ribs, roasted chicken with green beans, potato wedges, croquet potatoes, sprouts, and pasta with Mediterranean roasted vegetables in a marinara sauce and on the salad bar: Lettuce, olives, Pickles, beetroot, Peppers, tomato and tuna. On the side there are always bread rolls and a soup of the day. Now for the desserts: two different flavours of homemade icecream flavours of the day, cold rice pudding, a flavoured jelly of the day, a roulade, a cake of the day, plus others. The food through the hour and a half is plentiful, nothing ever runs out as they are forever adding more and they positivity encourage you to go back for seconds. If you are looking to experience Spanish food you can either have a wonderful lunch at one of the Spanish restaurants facing the sea view or have an odd evening out for a Spanish meal, either way you will not go hungry. My only gripe are the times of the evening meals which is between 19:00 until 20:30, I don't think I have ever eaten so early whilst on holiday, usually we would have a cocktail first then eat, so we just switched it around, no big deal. The roof terrace is lovely and with a breeze it was very pleasant and usually only one or two other people were there, I was looking forward to the hammocks, but sadly they were no longer there; the indoor swimming pool was lovely and cool especially after an hour on the roof terrace, there were times I saw one or two other people there or generally I was by myself in a private pool, yes the ceiling needs redoing, but not a massive issue, there is no gym equipment and the sauna isn't on, although for a sauna just step outside the hotel. We stayed at this hotel for two weeks and cannot fault it. The staff are exceptionally helpful day or night, they are so friendly and very proud of their hotel and food, as they should be. We will be coming back here, because of the hotel staff treat each guest as if they are family. If you need entertainment, then you are allowed to frequent the shows at he Son Baulo across the road and there is always a tui rep available at the Son Baulo between 10:00 until 16:00 daily. The Ting Ting train is great fun and costs 4. 50 euros each and can take you to C'an Picafort main town. You can use the bus service, but it runs on the main road which is quite a walk or go for an organised day trip with the reps. The bar connected to the hotel is cheap, friendly and a stones throw away, the cocktails are ok. We stayed in room 201 which is lovely and big, the on

The Stil Bonsai is a lovely small and calm hotel that suited us just fine. We liked the fact that we were at the quiet end of C'an Picafort even though it was the very end of the season and places were closing down around us. The rooms are perfectly clean and serviceable and the staff obliging throughout. However, the thing that lets it down is the food quality and variety. The dining room was extremely civilised with no queuing and nice cloth tablecloths and napkins making for a pleasant and comfortable environment. We were perfectly happy to accept that the choice would be limited in a small hotel (and I actually advocate this rather than having a lot of wastage) but we were both disappointed with what was on offer. When there is only two meat, one fish and one pasta dish to choose from every night I wouldn’t have expected to have seen beef stew on the menu 6 or 7 times in the fortnight. The salad bar and desserts were very basic too. No nice fresh pastries at breakfast either, just packet wrapped muffins or biscuits. We are usually the type of people to scoff (no pun intended) at others when they say a hotel buffet is repetitive but I have to admit it was very 'samey' and unadventurous, and, although we didn’t go hungry, we were never really looking forward to our meals - which is a shame as it is a major part of most peoples holidays. On a more positive note the weather was lovely for the end of October and we sunbathed on the nice peaceful roof terrace, had the indoor pool to myself a couple of times, did some lovely walks all round the pleasant town and scenic coastline - even spotting wild tortoises and different wildlife on the trails in the pine woods. We had a little bus ride to charming Santa Margalida nearby and also met some really nice fellow guests and couples at the very cheap bar downstairs. Although I may sound like I’m being rather negative (especially regarding the food) overall the positives far outweighed the negatives for us and, for the price we paid, we really enjoyed our stay. I may have been disappointed if I’d paid high season prices though. Would we stay again?… definitely, if the price was right.
