We arrived at Illusion Markus Spa on Saturday, 28th Sept, around 1.30pm local time. Even though check-in is from 2 p.m., our room was ready, so we were able to go straight to our room and drop cases and bags off. I need to say at this point that our air-con wasn't working in the room, BUT we reported it, and it was sorted within a couple of hours and has been on ever since. Great news, it's 27° in Majorca! Phew! The hotel is a bit dated, but it's extremely clean and tidy. The bar area is spacious and has air con, so it is lovely and cool. Although the pool area is compact, there are plenty of sunbeds and tables and chairs. I've seen people moaning about the food. This hotel is not fully catering for brits, so if you're expecting english sausage, back bacon and black pudding for brekkie with steak pie, mash, and veg for tea forget it! We have a more varied palette, and I think the food is great. Loads of local booze options, cocktails, soft drinks, and slushies available. The snack selection is as you would expect. Bread, cheese, meats, salad, burgers, hot dogs, and chips. 11 til 5pm, so if you miss brekkie and lunch, you still won't go hungry. Ca'n Picafort resort is fabulous. For a small resort there are loads of restaurants, bars and shops and a fantastic beach. All within a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. (I have chronic pain and walk with a stick, and it took me 10 mins!) All in all, this is a great hotel, and we would definitely come back.
