Charming old convent converted into very comfortable small hotel atop one of Umbria's smaller fortified hill towns, near Spoleto. We stayed here for one night on a six-day walking trip from one Umbrian hill town to another, starting in Assisi and ending in Spoleto. Could have happily stayed two nights. This hotel was probably the most exotic and atmospheric of our trip, very quiet with a lovely garden and great views over the valley. There is really no town here, no shops, it's mostly this hotel (with a good restaurant!) and a church. If you want peace and quiet and want to feel transported back in time, this is a great place for that. You could drive here, too. Bonus: The hotel is owned by the women who work the front desk. They are very friendly and speak excellent English.

A lovely and atmospheric hotel in quite an isolated location. Our room was excellent and staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The restaurant was also good with great food. Dinner and breakfast was of high quality. The spa is just up the hill in the castle. The biggest disappointment is that there is no proper bar during the day and there is no lunch facility without getting something pre made. You also have to ask reception to get a drink. Maybe we went on a v quiet day!

We feel very lucky to have found the Relais Borgo Campello. The setting, high on a hillside looking across a wide valley with hilltop towns in the distance, is stunning. The building is a refurbished former monastery, with thick walls, beautifully furnished sitting and reading rooms, and tree-shaded terraces. We loved sitting outside in the gentle breeze, listening to the birds, and gazing at the panorama unfolding below us. The staff was always kind and attentive with us non-Italian-speakers. A lavish buffet beakfast, with fresh croissants and cakes and superb local cold meats, was free for the guests. The restaurant served excellent regional cuisine, prepared by the on-site chef. Local truffles and saffron and wild boar featured prominently. The prices are quite modest by our American standards. We have enjoyed our stay here enormously and feel refreshed and rejuvenated. A special bonus is the electric car charger just outside the front door.

Visited here as part of a walking tour. Arrived walking from trevi and then left walking to spoleto both also great routes on the st. Francis way. Very special place to stay. My room was in the fortress with its own front door. A cross between a hotel room and a mini studio apartment. Very atmospheric and great to feel like really within the walled fortress. No panoramic view from the room but short walk down the street and a perfect bench to sit on and admire the spectacular views. Used the spa and would highly recommend if you have the chance. Sole use of sauna and hydrotherapy pool with jets and bubbles etc. Situated in a fortress cellar access down some stairs from terrace. Had my meals in the converted convent. Outside the walls and down the hill a bit. Its another very special building. There was a bit of walking between the different elements which i really enjoyed but back up the hill after dinner did feel pretty steep maybe not for someone with mobility concerns. Food was great. Sous vide pork especially delicious. There were only two tables at breakfast and they did us personal buffet spreads on our tables and good coffee. Service was great.

We had such a wonderful stay at Relais Borgo Campello! We stayed in one of the suites in the Castello, which included a lovely patio and a small kitchen. The decor was a perfect blend of modern comfort with classic Italian style. Everything had been updated recently. The bed was great, with wonderful linens and we slept so well! We enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet every morning and dinner in the restaurant most evenings. Such delicious regional Italian specialties that we were so happy to try! But the best part was the warm welcome we received from Daniela, Valentina and the other members of the team. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, we really felt at home. We recommend this special spot where you feel like you are on top of the world!

struttura bellissima arroccata sull'omonimo borgo. noi abbiamo preferito alloggiare nella zona del castello. la spa a disposizione degli ospiti è confortevole e rilassante, molto intima. personale molto professionale, gentile e attento alle esigenze del cliente. ci siamo stati già due volte e non vediamo l'ora di ritornarci.

Siamo stati ospiti in questa oasi di pace In un bellissimo fine settimana di metà aprile. Con l'accoglienza cordialissima che ci ha riservato Camilla nella reception, abbiamo immediatamente capito di essere in un posto incantevole. Le stanze sono le vecchie cellette dove dormivano le suore, con un tocco di modernità e di tutto il necessario occorrente per un soggiorno piacevolissimo. Nella terrazza si gode di un panorama meraviglioso su tutta la valle. Sorseggiando in assoluta tranquillità un prosecco o una bibita si ascolta piacevolmente le spiegazioni utili sulla zona con la giovanissima e gentilissima Martina sempre pronta per qualsiasi consiglio. La colazione a buffet è di livello, con dolce e salato in abbondanza, le bevande calde sono servite al tavolo. Abbiamo consumato la cena nel ristorante per tutte e due le sere del soggiorno. Ottimo cibo in un ambiente piacevolissimo e tranquillo con l'atmosfera di musica soffusa che dava senso di benessere ed estrema serenità. Un plauso al responsabile di sala Raffaele, competente e consigliere. Una nota di merito alla sig.ra curatrice, gestore e direttrice del Relais.
