I stayed here for just one night on a quick visit to Campeche. I have booked several hotels in the last 6 weeks so cannot remember exactly what hotel has what by the time i get there, I have just seen on the reviews (after I stayed) that there was a rooftop terrace, swimming pool and coffee !! None of these was I made aware of when I was there. I was also not aware on booking that my room would basically not have a window - its maybe 4 inches wide, so next to no natural light. I know this is the design of the building but I find that very claustrophobic and when it has been the case in other places, it has been made clear that there is no window. That said, this was a very cheap place and if I had spent this little in the UK I would have literally got nothing. Better communications needed I would say.

The good: Clean Nice rooftop terrace Centrally located in the old city The bad: No windows Wifi is only theoretical- never connected Bar next door plays loud music until 2 am. Unless you have excellent ear plugs, plan on sleeping during the day, the noise permeates the entire hotel, there are no quiet rooms.

Our room was next to the Reception Desk on the ground floor. Unbearable noise from loud talking and laughing all through the evening. Was very annoying. We moved to the 2nd floor the next day. The clerk 'Alejandro' was not motivated and did not tell us anything about the hotel etc... Our room has no view! Another disaster Hotel

We found the motel to be a good place to stay while in Campeche. It was convenient to the City Central and 50 peso taxi from the ADO station. You are staying in a locals environment which might not appeal if you like 5 star hotels but we were very happy with our stay. Limited English on the staff but very helpful. Coffee and pastry each morning at the front desk. Did not try the pastry but really like the coffee! Would stay here again and no reservation in recommending.

Room very very small !! Wifi weak very very weak ! They give me a key card for my room and i could open every rooms of the hotel !! SECURITY Weak The personal not too welcoming and make me going down 2 stairs for getting password of the WEAK WIFI !! Why do they put the password in the room ????????????????????? Really !!!!!!!!!!!!!

La experiencia en el Hotel Maya Campeche fue excelente. Su ubicación en el centro histórico es ideal para explorar la ciudad a pie, y el personal nos recibió con gran amabilidad. Las habitaciones son cómodas, limpias y con un encanto colonial que hace la estancia aún más acogedora. Un lugar tranquilo y con excelente relación calidad-precio. ¡Definitivamente volveremos!
