The Vyvyan Arms Hotel

We popped in to grab a drink and listen to the music on Trevithick day. Busy little pub with pool table, Parrot and a good pint. We ordered a pint of Madri and a bottle of smirnoff, well priced. The tables were pretty much full including one with a very loud sweary local which sort of spoilt the vibe, still he looked like he was enjoying the company of his own voice 😄

I liked the bathroom and convenience, they were very clean. I did not like the smell in the room and also the bed sheets needs to be changed as soon as an occupant checks out.

Needed a place to stay for work close to both Falmouth and Truro. Camborne suited. All other accommodation in the area was twice the price and above my allowance so went with The Vyvyan Arms. It’s a town pub with rooms above. Basic for sure but fine if you’re just looking for a bed for the night. Breakfast is included as is parking but not guaranteed a space. The area is safe but not the smartest so I was concerned about leaving my car on the roadside but it came to no harm. My room was really hot and the window painted shut but there was a fan. There is a decent free WiFi signal. There is a parakeet called Frosty in a cage in the bar who greeted me at breakfast every morning by calling me a wan#er! See this as amusing not insulting. The toilet & shower were clean all the time during my 6 night stay. In summary, very basic but worth every penny of the £45 a night I paid for B&B and yes I would stay there again.

The rooms are above a pub but I must say it wasn’t noisy. The carpets, fireplace, ledges and edges all dirty with dust and grime. Many grimy corners as well. Smells funny as well. The day I arrived I was so embarrassed I started looking for another hotel but none was available at that short notice . The breakfast was also the worst. Don’t let me get started on that. One star hotel. I wish I can get my money back Place needs renovations and modernisation. Shared toilet but it was clean. The overall smell of the place is just not good Needs airing out. And please don’t try any adult stuff on the squeaky beds. Tip, lay the pillows on the floor

Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, good breakfast, all we needed. Even if the parrot did swear at us!

Had an amazing stop over the land lord and lady were excellent hosts so from two old soldiers thank you

Property was very smelly. Room felt damp Most uncomfortable night I have ever had mattress was so old you could feel all the springs.We are used to camping but this was dreadful.Doors were being slambed until at least 230am. Had to park on side of main road as no space in car park. No choice for breakfast. Wouldnt use it again
