We have been holidaying at this park for around 20 years and only ever experienced minor issues. We saved really hard for this years stay so we could upgrade to a "luxury" lodge - there was absolutely nothing luxury about this holiday and we have returned stressed, upset and nowhere near relaxed and refreshed. This holiday was so different and combined with Parkdean's appalling attitude we will NEVER EVER book with this company again. Below is the long list of issues - and despite a long, drawn out complaints process with Parkdean - all we were offered was a 20% voucher for our next stay (as I said, completely useless as will never use this company again) or a 10% refund on the money we paid for the holiday - zero compensation for the rotten food; extra expense of dining out; and 1.5 days of holiday lost. They wouldn't even offer us a replacement holiday for next year with a guarantee of luxury accommodation with no major issues!! Here are the issues: Issue 1 – Start of the holiday On arrival at the park, our accommodation was not ready for us at 4pm when we had advised we would be arriving. In fact it was 45 mins before the team of 4 Parkdean staff had finished and allowed us access. When one of them approached our car he apologised for the wait and said that they were trying to fix the cupboard door just inside the entrance, but unfortunately they could not fix it. On entering the Lodge, we found that the cupboard door wasn’t even in the property (and they did not leave with it) – therefore there was no possible way that this team were trying to fix a non-existent door! A different maintenance worker arrived within the next 10 mins to measure up for a new cupboard door, and said he’d be back asap, but he never returned over the next 6 days we were staying on park. We didn’t think that this would be any kind of negative factor to our holiday, but soon realised that when the boiler fired up, without the door on the cupboard, it was very loud to the point of drowning out the TV. Issue 2 – The Accommodation The luxury lodge was very spacious but we soon realised that it was not in a good state of repair or cleanliness. Here are some of the issues which we encountered: • The bottoms of the showers were ingrained with black dirt. • Window ledges and windows had dead bugs on them. • The 2 sofas were very badly stained. • The dining room chairs were very badly worn, meaning that they scratched legs when sat on, and also the black vinyl peeled off and found its way all over the carpets. • The coffee table in the lounge had the plastic edging hanging off which scratched legs as we walked past. • The bedside tables in the 3 bedrooms were all put into the main double bedroom, so we put them back to where they should be (why did the cleaners not do this?) • The radiators in 2 of the bedrooms didn’t work. • There were only 2 bedside lamps in the three bedrooms, one of which did not work. • The washer dryer was broken. We booked a WFA caravan and received a phone call on the way to Camber asking if the accommodation we had booked was needed. I told them it was as we are disabled. The girl explained that the accommodation they had booked us into was not to standard and they would find us a different one. When we arrived at the caravan the heating wasn't working and no hot water. They sent maintenance who sorted the boiler but told us that there were flexi pipes on the boiler and they shouldn't be there. The fire in the lounge didn't work properly, it would trip the electricity. When the cleaning staff came to fix the curtains that had fallen down, we explained about the fire not working and the extractor in the shower room not working. They looked at the extractor and said, 'oh yeah, you have a broken wire that's exposed, I'll get maintenance out to fix it, and to look at the fire' The oven didn't work and the grill flame went out after 1 min but the gas was still coming through the pipes. No oven trays in the caravan so you couldn't use it even if you wanted to. The kitchen sink leaked when the water was emptied. There was blood on the settee and on the floor. Electrical tape holding the disabled toilet grab rails together. We checked our original booking, to find they had put us in the caravan we originally booked, even though they knew it wasn't to standard. Member of staff rode his motorbike to the entertainment complex every night, then sat with the engine running for 10 mins to warm it up when he came out. This was midnight, every night and woke lots of people up. We were still waiting for maintenance to fix the extractor and the fire when it was time to leave. We have made a complaint to Parkdean but nothing has been done, not even an acknowledgement. Terrible customer service

Couldn't even rate this place. It is awful. The caravan is mouldy, dusty and dirty. The curtains are falling off without any hooks or stoppers to replace them. When I went into the twin bedroom one of the curtains was put in the cupboard without any hooks on. We had to get maintenance to come and put them back up. That was one of the only positive things from our stay. The vent in the twin bedroom was filled with thick dust and as an asthmatic I could end up in hospital. The quilts were moldy and so was the caravan. The oven is awful and the door does not close it let's out all the heat. All of the cutlery and pots were dirty clearly nobody had cleaned. The curtains were also moldy. There are cracks in the doors. We were told that we could not park our van on site but there were other van on site without reason. And in nowhere visible it says you cannot park them on sire. And to make it worse the security officer was rude. The service in the bar was slow and no recognition from the staff. Was told they would come and give the caravan a dust and they have not. There was not enough cutely and bowls for an six birth caravan.

At first we had an issue with our boiler and we kept having to call for help . They where always quick to attend. Eventually the decision was taken to move us as we had two small children and the boiler kept going into fault. We ended up moving on the third day of our 7 day holiday which became a bit of a hassle as packing up for 5 people was hard and then the new accommodation wasn't ready till half 12 which meant we lost a whole day of our holiday. We where placed into a beautiful new caravan and carried on enjoyed the holiday. The park was clean and tidy (with exception of the toilets in the arcade) could have definitely done with a clean. It was quite and security always around which made it feel very safe. Especially for a young family. We booked for the messy play and the kids enjoyed themselves so much. Would definitely recommend. To conclude we would definitely recommend this holiday park.

Really clean with a new feel to it. The staff were so friendly and helpful in all areas, from the reception, bar staff and restaurant. The park itself has so much to do and great facilities, probably the best park we have been too for a massive range in facilities. We will definitely be returning and we cannot wait to book our next trip.

We had a fabulous weekend at Parkdean, Camber Sands. It was my first time there, and we all loved it. The lodge was really nice and clean with plenty of space. We did a few activities, went swimming, and found the staff to be lovely and friendly.

We had a family 70th birthday weekend here. The activities and arcades were the favourite part. Thank you again. We have been a few times as we always have a great time here. Plus beach is so close. Thank you Jess for helping us with activities.

Great staff and facilities. Amanda especially was so patient in the craft zone, can’t thank her enough. Every member of staff went above and beyond and even when busy they made us feel very valued. Will return to a Park Dean again as this was our first visit.

Jorja at the scoops stand was very helpful and efficient helping and remembering the orders, friendly and polite. Ordered over 6 waffles they were very tasty and the sprinkles were truly scrumptious. Highly recommend them and will be using again. Thank you
