Mynd Adeje

We chose this hotel after a great deal of deliberation. Indeed it was my third attempt at a holiday in Tenerife, so I was delighted to actually get there. i travelled with my young adult daughter for a week,  B&B at Mynd Adeje, one of three hotels in a chain where sustainability is important to the brand. The cost for mid August seemed pretty reasonable.  The hotel is situated in the very sleepy resort of Callao Salvaje which has some shops, apartments, another hotel and about a dozen restaurants. There is a black sand beach about a ten minute stroll away.  This is a recently renovated construction with five floors of accommodation on either side of two lifts. We had a basic land facing room with a pleasant balcony. The large telly had instructions as to how to cast from your phone. Many reviews have mentioned the separation of the sink from the toilet and the shower. We didn't find this or the heavy glass door to be an issue. The glass is certainly opaque. Our room was comfortable and we rested very well at night.   If you don't have your room cleaned you will receive a credit of €40 to your room account. We were very happy to opt for this. In addition, if you put credit onto your room account you will enjoy 10% discount on food and drink costs. Great ideas. We also returned home with souvenir Mynd Adeje water bottles. There are water stations around the hotel where you can fill up, staying hydrated and avoiding paying  for water.  Here there are no sunbed wars. We were told the hotel was full, but there was no shortage of space around the hotel. This gives the place a calm and chilled vibe which we really loved. The ground level pool seemed to attract more families, but there is no kids club and frankly there are probably better places for children. However, this is not an adults only hotel. The infinity roof top pool enjoys wonderful views of sea and mountain and is certainly a great place to relax. Up there there is seating for lunch and snacks with a quiet sun lounger area  with Balinese beds you can rent for €20 extra. (Other packages are available). Everything you need to know re food and drink is on the Mynd app, with a lot of clicking involved, but it is all there. We opted for B&B to give us a bit more flexibility. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of delicious fresh food on offer and it is all there until 1130, making it possible to swim or use the gym and then eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the workshops offered daily in the late afternoon. Our sommelier was fantastic, introducing two wines for us to learn to appreciate. We did whites one day and reds another. We also made soap and a Tenerife coffee drink. We missed the cocktail workshops due to our visit to Siam Park. What a shame!   We never ate dinner in the hotel, but we thoroughly enjoyed lunch and snacks at the rooftop bar. (See separate reviews for the restaurants we visited in Callao Salvaje). Beautiful hotel - good blend of privacy and friendly efficient service and customer care. In great locality too. 2 lovely pool areas. Great breakfast - everything imaginable available - and for an extended period of time- available most of the morning. Also poolside bar and rooftop bars lovely. Very different atmospheres and ambience. Ask at reception on arrival about activities throughout your stay - morning and evening - especially if you are not hugely into technology - it is also easy to find out what is happening if you regularly use your phone for such info

We stayed at MYND Adeje at the end of August for 7 nights. This is the most chilled out, relaxed hotel you could wish to stay at. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff; Angelo greeted us with so much useful information and a refreshing drink - despite the fact that we were the only two arrivals that afternoon. We stayed on a B&B basis, but the hotel’s credit scheme is so useful that we joined it the day we arrived. (Hint, don’t take the ‘half-board’ option that TUI offers, the hotel doesn’t do half board, but the credit scheme allows you so much flexibility AND you get 10% off all food and drink when you use the hotels facilities.) The food is excellent - I’ve never seen a wider breakfast choice at any other hotel, and the restaurant staff (Sabrina especially) are fantastic and helpful. Breakfast is served from 7:30 - 11:30 which just makes it so chilled. There is absolutely NO need to reserve sun beds, there are always plenty available no matter what time you hit the poolside. Sadly, some people still thought it was ok to stick towels on sun beds and then disappear until lunchtime - and they were, without exception, all British!!! Fernando who runs the poolside bar, works tirelessly all day - yet he still can’t do enough to keep guests happy. The poolside area is the place to chill, whether at ground level or up on the roof - an amazing space whether sunbathing during the day, or sipping cocktails in the evening. The rooms are immaculate, and the hotel also offers you the choice of NOT having it cleaned on certain days - as part of its eco friendly ethos. If you agree to not having your room cleaned (they still empty your bins and will change your towels if needed) you receive a ten euro credit for each day. Elena, our cleaning lady, simply couldn’t do enough to help if you needed towels or toiletries. This is our second year staying at the Mynd for our summer holidays, and it again did not disappoint. It has everything we could ask for and more. The breakfast is varied and we love that it finishes at 11:30 meaning we do not need to rush to get up on days we fancy a lay in. There are also plenty of sun beds so no need to get up early to reserve them. There is a range of drinks and food which is sold throughout the day at a reasonable price. All staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help you. A special mention to Fernando who works so hard throughout the day on the pool bar. We will definitely be back in the future for another visit to the Mynd Adeje. Thank you for again another amazing holiday.

Had a 5 night stay and LOVED it! We would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were so helpful, the drinks were wonderful and we loved the serenity that the hotel provided. Our bed was comfortable and the air con worked to ensure we slept well. The pools were clean and quiet with enough sun beds for everyone. We loved how keen MYND Adeje were to do their bit for the environment and being able to fill up water bottles regularly and for free is just one example of this. The only thing that disappointed us was the ‘snack’ food by the pool. We only ate lunch once in the hotel as the chips were cold and soggy and the chicken seemed undercooked. Having said this, the evening food in the restaurant was good and breakfast was exceptional.

Just back from 7 nights at the Mynd Adeje and had a fantastic stay! So the question I asked myself was, can a hotel be that good that it really justifies its 5* rating on here, the simple answer is yes it can! Hotel is beautiful, very modern and on arrival greeted by a lovely member of staff. Check in painless, almost self-check-in, with a welcome drink offered from the lobby bar. We had two double rooms booked and as per our request, they were close together, third floor. Looking out to sea - yes that side does look over a derelict building site but nothing the hotel can do about that and the view beyond is spectacular anyway. The rooms were bright and modern. As others have commented, there is a sink in the room itself which is actually really useful in that if the toilet/shower is being used then the sink is free. The shower/toilet area was massive, yes they are glass walls and door but they are frosted and so there is no issue with privacy at all if that bothers people. Shower was fantastic with rainforest style overhead shower. We were Half-Board and so benefited from the credit system. With 10% off bar and restaurant prices, the credits went along way and we didn't once feel like we were restricted to what we wanted to eat or drink during the day. Breakfast is vast and varied. If you want your full English, beans, sausage, black pudding etc, go elsewhere, this ain't for you. But if you are happy with a variety of fruit, eggs, bacon, yoghurts and various other healthy options its great. Breakfast served until 11.30 is a bonus so often no need for a lunch! Dinner is great to order of the menu a-la carte style. Its a large menu too so plenty of choice, including Canarian dishes plus they do four specials each day. Beers were good, El Aguila and Ocean on tap in particular. Wine choice was good too! Rooftop bar, pool and sunbeds is just spectacular, during the day and night. with sea and Mt Teide just some of the sites. Cocktails really good. View at sunset is amazing with sun setting behind the island of Las Palmas whilst we were there. DJ sets for a couple of hours on some days, chilled pipped music the rest of the time. Hotel is kept very clean with lots of staff. Restaurant and bar staff couldn't be more helpful and happier, lots of lovely chats and conversations. Pool area great, no worry about getting sun loungers and the pool whilst not heated wasn't freezing as it is not as deep as some pools we've been to Now the resort itself is very quite, couple of hotels, some apartments, two streets of bars and restaurants. So if you want the lights and chaos of the big three resorts down the coast then this isn't for you. The restaurants outside the hotel were good, Nebula being the nearest was great. Two supermarkets down the road too with good range of food and drinks if you want to stock up with snacks. Empty fridge in each room to use too. Yet another wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel. Rooms are still fab, breakfast delicious (an omlette reappearance would be nice ), pools so clean and the rooftop bar is still our favourite for socialising and watching sunsets. There are so many fabulous staff here and they go out of their way to make your stay extra special with their friendliness and helpfulness. This time we have a special thank you for Oskar the pool lifeguard who assisted our friend when he took ill at the pool. Oskar has now become another one of our many Mynd friends and the reason we return so regularly. We look forward to seeing you all again in November.

My partner and I just spent a week at Mynd Adeje and we did not want to come home! The hotel is situated in a small, quiet town but had plenty of restaurants and small supermarkets nearby. The hotel was absolutely spotless and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - favourite part was the rooftop pool which provided fantastic views of the island. Overall, a 10/10 experience and will definitely be returning.
