We were a little apprehensive before arrival having read some of these reviews, but we needn't have worried. We had a lovely relaxing holiday. The complex did need a little updating but it was spotlessly clean. The apartment was very spacious and we had a fabulous sea view from the balcony. We didn't have a kettle but the reception soon provided one on request. There are 3 pools and plenty of sunbeds. There were a limited choice of main meals, but we always found something that we wanted and enjoyed. The bar had plenty of choice for all inclusive drinks. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. A recommendation to the complex from us would be more evening entertainment. We had a live act on only 1 night of the week. They were fantastic, and had everyone up dancing. It completely changed the atmosphere of the bar area. However, this complex is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There are a lot of steps and hills to navigate. Having said that though, it did help us to work off our meals. In summary, we had excellent value for money for a 3 star hotel at a 3 star price. Anyone expecting 5 star facilities should go elsewhere and pay a 5 star price. We will definitely return as we loved our holiday. Tip... don't use the main road to get to the beach, it's a lot quicker to take the little road, accessed to the right of the restaurant.

We are on our last day today and want to say what a fab time we've had here. If you're looking for a 5 star , best food, hundreds of things to do, then this is not for you. But like us if you just enjoy a beautiful, quiet holiday in a pleasant, clean hotel with fab pools and views its really worth the money. We did all inclusive so all food and drinks are here. We've been to places with more variety but here they have a really nice selection of foods each meal time and vary the main meals each day. Drinks are great and the bar is really generous with shots. Things to think about are the many steps to climb up and down to restaurant, pools and bars. There are slopes instead at the sides but it did take a bit of effort .. great way to work off the drinks though in holiday if you want a positive spin! The rooms are very clean. Maybe could do with some maintenance but you get the impression they're working around to it all. Loved the spaciousness. Normally we are a family of 4 squeezed into 1 room. This time the kids had a bed each in the living area and we had our own room. Had to ask for extra pillows but they were happy to oblige. The beach in Callao Salvaje is lovely. Kids loved the big waves and still made sandcastles in the black sand. There's a restaurant/bar on the beach and nearby lots of shops, cocktail bars and restaurants here too. One review said it was a long walk to the beach but you just go down the right side of the hotel past the restaurant and you're out near the shops and the short walk to the beach it's great. We would happily come to this hotel again. The staff are warm and love the kids. Good value for money.

Just back from a few days here. Bed and breakfast. On first Impression reception is beautiful. A friendly warm welcome awaits you. Safety deposit boxes are available at €2.50 /day. Pool towels available at €10 deposit then think €10 per day which was disspaponting. So didn't use them. A steep walk down a hill to our room. Apartment was large and spacious. Seem to be equipped for disabled. However- Dated, dirty and in desperate need for an upgrade (see attached photos). Bedroom 2 small single beds which were really hard and uncomfortable. Really cold at night (required to use wooly sheets that were filthy) -single glazed patio doors on bedroom had wood rotten frames and broken handles. Wardrobes were filthy and clothes smelt after coming out . Frame coming off mirror. Bathroom High toilet and sliding door to bathroom (door hanging of the top rail and did not close properly). "Walk in shower" - shower head attached to wall sprayed all over bathroom. Had to hold shower head while using shower but still significant flooding after each shower. Floor tiles and grout filthy. Multiple holes in wall covered by card. We had family staying in another hotel. My son insisted on using the shower in the other hotel as the bathroom was so disgusting. Kitchen area OK. Fridge. Cooker. Percolator (may have been able to use as a kettle but couldn't work out). Surrounded by rotten seals. Selection of kitchenware available although I'd give them a boil wash before use. Living area Couch filthy. Matress mouldy. Cracked tiles throughout floor. Dirt and debris left on floor from cleaners Mop after "cleaning" floor. Balcony Large with table and chairs and old dirty washing line. Nice views. Food We were here for bed and breakfast. Only used once as food cold and unappealing. We were only here a few days so didn't affect us significantly. However I would be extremely dissapointed if I'd booked this as AI with small family. We didn't use the pool area as we opted to use a family members hotel given our experience from the rest of the apartment. Extremly noisy from 7.30 am with drinks deliveries and cleaners chatting with each other as they start their shift. Amazed I didn't see any cockraches!!

We have been here several times. It is a great base as we have family in the village. They are friendly and it is clean with a number of pools. The breakfast is everything you could ask for, except if it is very busy you sometimes have to wait for a table. Other meals provide loads of fruit, carbs and salad, but not a lot of choice of meat or fish, but we found we overate anyway! Only thing we would like is more entertainment and activities. Other nearby hotels provide stuff to do during the day. There are over 20 restaurants in the village and alcohol is cheap outside the hotels. However it is EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY,

The stay was great. Beach was amazing, with black volcanic sands and pristine water. Rooms were comfortable enough and had lots of space. Pools and amenities were great. Food was not very good. But options of drinks included in all-inclusive were very good. Ababacar was the very best DJ and bartender of our 5-day stay. Such a great vibe and personality! The new years show with live music was also amazing!

I booked this place as our usual apartments were fully booked. I wish I had stayed at home. On arrival, the reception area is beautiful. That's where it stops. The rooms have a key, very outdated. I booked a superior room, there was no cooker, no freezer, no iron, ironing board, kettle or toaster. The rooms were dark and uncomfortable. We were given a ground floor apartment as my partner has mobility issues, but it was still 6 flights of steps to get to the restaurant. Breakfast was included, don't bother. The food was continuously cold, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, a poor excuse for bacon, stale bread rolls, a queue 30 feet long to get in each day. The restaurant is far too small for the whole area. The pools were clean but very tired and outdated. The sunbeds were a disgrace, as were the plastic broken and split chairs around the pool. The AstroTurf around the pool is a dreadful, I didn't feel comfortable walking on it. Its filthy and worn out. Cockroaches running around by the pool bar too. The bar shuts at 11pm, but if you're staying in an apt anywhere near it, take earplugs, as a few nights, there were crowds around the pool until 4am shouting and talking very loudly, having brought their own drinks down. We were told security roams the area at night but we never saw it. Maybe I'm too fussy, yes it's a cheap-ish holiday, but we never return.

I have been visiting the Island I choice the hotel because the location close to the beach and quiet area and was good selection anyway. About the hotel in general was acceptable for me, the food was enough and a lot food, the preparation really good. The personnel working in the restaurant area very efficient and very active and very nice always doing the job to prepare the tables for the new person and keeping the area nice. About the entry lobby is spacious and friendly personnel welcome me, if I have good memory Ernesto the Cuban guy are professional him know how do the job good. The room or apart room very spacious and always the service ladies ready for do the job. The pool area always clean and water pool with good quality but was cool for me in November that happen . The bar always with music and personnel happy, everybody that work in the bar very nice and very good conversation Al least with me I'm fluent Spanish speeking but I never see any drama in the area because all personnel are happy, smiling always. The reason I don't give five star is because the hotel don't have air condictioner i don't know why existing different ways to install them. But my visit thank god was in November was good the temperature just using the sofa bed and the ceiling fan I got nice stay in general

This hotel is terrible. The room was very dirty and didn't get cleaned at all. The cupboards and wardrobes had a terrible smell. The door frames and windows frames were all broken with rotten wood. The place was so dated and old fashioned.. We also had cockroaches in the rooms.. The restaurant was more like a canteen and wasn't the sort of place you dress up for. My sister had sickness and diarrhoea then I got the same illness on the last day of our stay. On arrival the reception and the grounds looked well kept.. They need to spend more money on the apartments instead of the reception and grounds.. Also teach the cleaners how to clean! I will definitely not be staying at this hotel again Lilian ward
